Four and a half months and counting! Man that guy must be busy.

Tree_UK 08-01-2008 08:23 AM

Yeah i feel for him, it will all be worth it though when we get to view the next set of 3d models.

His last response was in June. So it is only two months you have been waiting. Look in the "Sticky: Oleg Maddox's News" thread for most of his responses.
He also responds directly to questions in the "Sticky: Oleg Maddox's Room" thread sometimes. The last official response from the man was on 06-10-2008, 04:27 PM.
Nike will most likely collate some questions for him and he will answer them soon enough.
One must remember we are such a fickle bunch that unless we hear or see something new we are dissapointed. So rather no news than a regurgitation of the same old stuff would almost certainly be Oleg's motto at this stage.

Relax and wait and enjoy Il2 online for a while. ADW have just started a new war and are always looking for cannon fodder or give warbirds of prey or take the 4.09 beta for a spin.
But I know you did not want to hear from me but old Oleg himself and to be honest so did I. But as anyone else who has been visiting these forums will tell you, count on him responding only when he has something to impart.
He will never respond to a "he has said nothing for four months thread"

I agree Bobb4. And, i suggest that we start bashing them for final 4.09, so the online can be even better with that gorgeous Slovakia map. WE WANT DS TO BE COMPILED ASAP! :D ;)

But, when we have that, SoW - BoB will be in alpha stage, so, win-win for all ;)

123-Wulf-123 08-02-2008 09:40 PM

I don't think we're ever going to see a final 4.09

AND I'm getting pretty pessimistic about BoB:SoW ever appearing for the PC too :(

TBH I think Oleg has forsaken us...........:(

I have no problem waiting when he says they are working hard on the sim. Oleg has enough integrety to let us know if things are cancelled. The MG crew didn't start full work on SOW until they stopped all work on FB which is less than a year ago. Personally I don't care if I ever see 4.09 as FB will be wiped from my hard drive the minute I recieve SOW. I've been flying IL-2 since the Beta test days, atleast 8 years. They can't support FB forever, its time to move on. We would have had SOW by now if they stopped working on FB a couple of years ago.

ElAurens 08-02-2008 10:27 PM

Chivas, you are obviously using logic here.

Now stop that!

I want to see more emotions, and unfounded rumors in your posts, OK?

WTE_Galway 08-03-2008 11:24 PM

... and then SOW didst appear, and there was much rejoicing.

But woe betide those with machines of older ilk for such are unsuitable and there will be much whining and gnashing of teeth on the forums.

Nearmiss, you'd better remove that image from this post. If I recall correctly, that photo was taken in the 5.12 heavy earth quake which took place in Sichuan Province, China. At least 80 thousand people were killed under the debris, with tens of thousands of families broken. Please feel their pains and don't make fun of them any more.

Dude, you may be a foremost authority, but that is just a picture of some people crying.

I will remove it, but I sure as heck am not making light of anyone's tragedy.

I don't try to interpret or discern what every picture I see means, etc.

It's a picture of people crying that's all.

Here are a couple more, maybe they'll suit your epicurean tastes.

Wow how did it get so PC all of a sudden... Why in the world are we wasting our time worring about offending people when this thread had nothing to do with an earthquake... Nobody was mocking anyone in an earthquake.

Things have gotten so out of hand with this PC garbage that people don't use common sense.

It's not so common anymore is it?

Don't turn this into a Thread Highjack that has no bearing on the current conversation please. Move along!

Feuerfalke 08-06-2008 07:40 AM

LOL

Just a few days out of the house and you people start stealing my job.

Well done!

80K out of a billion that's like giving a whale a tic tac. :P

zapatista 08-06-2008 04:45 PM

i thought the picture might have been from one of those Philippines boat disasters, where a few 100 people die on a regular basis every few years when another one sinks due to a storm or poor maintenance. posting images like of distraught relatives to make a joke in a forum is in poor taste.

how about a slight reality check folks, most of you jolly jokers dont even seem to cope with the slightest criticism of a software game on the internet, you really think its ok when we post pictures of your own grieving relatives when one of your kids dies, how about if your parents die in a house fire, still funny ?

JG52Uther 08-06-2008 05:04 PM

Is Oleg supposed to answer any of the above questions?
Just wondering.

bhunter2112 08-06-2008 09:11 PM

I actually just wanted some info on the SOW BOB. I don't actually care if it is Oleg or an underling posts it. Every so often give us a real update with screen shots or a video.

335th_GRGeokid 08-07-2008 05:02 PM

The thing i want the most to know about the BoB is an estimate about the hardware specs that would be needed by the game! I m sure that the game will rock so there is no point for me to need verification for that! Except a beta testing or a demo soon maybe...

Tree_UK 08-08-2008 02:44 AM

Wait until 2010 the you may get a better idea.

Oleg mentioned awhile ago that he "HOPED" to have some info on required system specs this summer. If we do get that info it should be a good hint that most of the features are enabled.

edited to highlight the hope part. ;)
