did 1c ever consider making a civilian flight sim to replace the msfs gap
love the flight model in 1c maddox simulation series
i would like to ask 1c if they ever considered using there simulation code and adapt it to make civiallian aviation flight sim where you can fly around the world in a 747 etc would need world wide coverage of naviads and lots of civiallian planes for console or pc if it will help sales just one last point ive been thinking about what most sims miss at the moment wings buffeting around due to turbulance its abit like if your sitting on the ground in a glider waiting for winch launch and some ones holding one of the wings up if they move the wing there currently holding up and down violently jolting it randomly this is what an aircraft experience during flight and you have to fight this with small corrections from time to time i wonder if this effect could be modeleed and incorperated into 1 c simulation games??? anyway would love to here from 1c about some of the above thoughts thanks |
I doubt it. They're having too many problems getting "SoW" to work properly.

Oleg also said the Su-26 would be supplied as an editable test bed that would allow third party contributors to use it as a guide to making new aircraft. I wonder if that is possible.

I suppose the issue will have to wait until things stabilizes a bit.

And if you hit a tree you stay hit! |
Flying low over FSX scenery makes you want to hit a tree, although I think FSX has other good points and decent addons. If the new IL-2 game engine survives and improves, it has the potential to be a very good base for civilian user made content, like aircraft, and map improvement mods. The IL-2 game engine was initially designed to evolve with technology over the next ten years or so, unfortunately the engine can't start evolving until its finished, and it appears it may be done, before its finished. lol

It has been only 3 weeks or so, lol...don't worry, it will be announced:-) "I know all of you are anxious to know about what happens now. Unfortunately we’re not ready to post that just yet. We will post announcements and a more detailed roadmap in a very near future." |

If anyone makes a new civvie sim these days it'll be ED with their DCS engine, not 1C.

I know, I know, but the way they walked away from the simple problem of FMs in CoD has left many of us staunch supporters feeling betrayed. There was no attempt to amend the Release Candidate for some of the simplest problems. The quick release on Steam and the deliberate suppression of speculation has inevitably made people suspicious. Who was the moderator that deleted IvanK's thread? Perhaps he could explain. To avoid infractions, that's a suggestion, not a demand. |

But they are not there yet. P-51 from DCS is FSX with guns - but there is nothing for your P-51 to do except fly around and shoot at the ground because DCS world is modern jet sim where P-51 gets blown down from the sky by G2A missiles and radar AAA and jets and choppers with A2A missiles. You can blow up trucks with WWII rockets, but not main battle tanks! You can fly P-51 vs AI P-51 but the AI P-51 does not understand laws of physics, and you can fly online P-51 vs other P-51 pilots but good luck finding a server with this, I have tried a couple of times only one server can I find, and usually no one on it when I log in. Anyway how much fun is P-51 vs P-51 online - once you have done a couple of times, it is yawwwwwn. They will get there though, I think P-51 is just first step. Then then need bigger maps, different theatres, different aircraft. I am faithful they will. |
When DCS add a FW190, perhaps the D9, or even a late 109, I'll buy it. Maybe then we could get some online interest.
Does it lend itself to any kind of campaign or combat scenario? MIssion building? Map object placement? |
DCS world Mission builder is awesome in its capabilities !
