anyone know a good lefthanded stick, the only one ive seen is thrustmaster t16000m, is that good for this game?

Saitek Evo Force and probalby some other Saiteks too.

Im left handed but i learn how to fly right hand - so now in sims and RL too im now more right handed pilot :)

Very good, the T.16000m is better than the Saiteks imho but it does have a few niggles;

Firstly, the buttons do not feel as good as the Saiteks. Lastly, the rudder and throttle throws are very limited in comparison to the Saiteks'...however I use a throttle quadrant and rudder pedals so this doesn't really affect me.

Please note though, I haven't owned a Saitek in a few years (about 3 years I think), so they might of improved but I wouldn't go back, the sensors and build quality are far superior to the old Cyborg range.

My advice is if you can, try before you buy and see which one suits you better.

One more thing to note - T.16000M dont use potentiometers in X an Y axis, use the same 3D HALL sensor used by Warthog.

So, this plus a very good ergonomics of grip make (IMO) T.16000M the best cost/benefit in entry-level stick's.

Saitek EVO still using using pots - that wears with time...

People used to use Saitek Aviator report that actual versions are worse than first - probable due consoles compatibilization.

T16000 user here. Good, solid stick - with the caveat that others have mentioned about buttons and sliders (I also have throttle box and pedals).

I like the fact that it has the HALL-effect sensors. I had to ditch my Evo because the pots started to spike and I'm assuming that this won't happen with the T16000.

One further caveat: the springs are quite stiff. I found it hard work initially, but have got used to it

ok well i got it in the end. i should have said im new to pc games and getting il2 clod was the primary reason to get a gaming pc having been a console gamer for years.i watched the vids on youtube of winterowl and some others. ive also got the trackir5 coming so cant wait to have some online battles.

i still find it totally retarded how few lefty joysticks there are on the market..

I recommend learning to fly with your right hand if you ever plan to start flying IRL. All planes are designed for right handed operation and you are actually not allowed to fly left handed as that is a risk factor with all handles positioned to be reached with the left hand (as the right hand is for the stick). I'm left handed and when I started flying IRL I got a very harsh reminder from my old flying teacher that "there are no left handed pilots!"... So I had to start flying with my right hand and it feels completely awkward now to try using the joystick with my left hand even though I'm left handed :) It goes faster than one might think for the brain to adapt...

But - if you insist on flying left handed I think that a few of the Saitek joysticks are made so that you can switch side for the handrest etc for left handed operation... At least they had products before that allowed that (the Saitek Cyborg Evo is possible to reconfigure for left handed use - but it's not produced any more it seems)

ive had my first few goes flying theres tons to learn, having just built my pc and got this as my first game(im sure most would say its a sim and not a game,but there is competition between players so for me its very much a game) so far no problems with the game as i got an overclocked sandybribge cpu and motherboard.

the thing thats most suprising is the depth, i think i could be flying for years and still have tons to learn.

This makes no sense at all, surely you must be aware that most civillian and general aviation aircraft are with P1 seat on the left combined with a 'yoke' which is typically operated with the left hand while the throttle controls are operated by the right, left handers are only disadvantaged in tandem seat or single seat aircraft with a 'stick', the reality is you need to become somewhat ambidextrous to fly in real life, I can fly left hand with a yoke just fine but can't use my left hand on a stick.
