Flaming Cliffs 3 is out now...

FC3 is out now for DCS World so stop being sorry that we get no news from MG any more :) The cockpits are awesome and no longer do we have to fear an old F-4 coming at us!

Feathered_IV 11-09-2012 11:43 AM

Flaming Cliffs. What is that? A gay bar near Dover?

addman 11-09-2012 11:55 AM

Thanks for the tip, I got the newsletter. Still, what I'm waiting for with great anticipation is the MiG-21bis, please have it released this year pleeeeaaaaase!:)

Ataros 11-09-2012 12:01 PM

Oh well done! got some good laughs from this!

Seriously though I really wish I could get into FC. I tried the original FC and I just couldnt get into it.
Beautiful games, really nice everything but I just cant get into missile era stuff.

ACE-OF-ACES 11-09-2012 06:43 PM

Im not a big jet head.. But I do like the idea of flying the blackshark down low hiding from the F15 and taking on the A10s! ;)

Yeah............I'm very tempted. Still got my original LockOn disc here.
Though I'm not sure if I'll have the time for flight sim number four on my hard drive.

bongodriver 11-09-2012 06:48 PM

I mean I litterally can't get past the shopping cart to pay??????

Their usability is pretty awful, you need to create a user and log in first to see the "Proceed" button...

Yeah...that's the problem I'm having, I have an account, I own lock on, FC, FC2, DCS A-10, DCS P-51, and black shark, but I just dont get the 'proceed' button in the shopping cart.

JG52Uther 11-09-2012 07:54 PM

Might have to look in to this, never played Lock On. Think I have some reading up to do!

Yeah - they have some cookie problem on the site... Shut down the browser - go to the site and log in before putting stuff in the cart. Click the "remember me" and shut down again. Go to the site - make sure you are logged in, and then buy :)

Had the same trouble myself yesterday :)

Going full afterburner at low level and then pointing the nose up in the sky ripping through the clouds has never been so sweet :) Especially after dragging around in the "Hog" :)

And you get a bunch of planes (at the expense of them not being simulated down to the last bolt like the "feature" DCS aircraft). Still better than what is out there if you want a world where you can blow stuff up...

Just had fun for half an hour just doing full stop landings in the SU-27 and then taking off again ripping it into the air with the afterburners licking the tarmac... Hang in the engines doing an Immelman and doing a wide turn bleeding speed to land straight in again. Rinse and repeat :)

JG52Uther 11-09-2012 08:11 PM

Would be something completely different for me, after RoF and CoD!

Absolutely - and you can download DCS World for free first and fly the SU-25T just to see if you like the engine etc. FC3 is just a module that you add to the "world" - just like the A10, Black Shark and that P-51...

Thanks....'tis purchased, let the fast jet goodness commence.

I just wish I understood how to fight while mashing all those buttons on modern jet aircraft.

Honestly I do. Lots of the Pigs and our friends are really into DCS, but I look at all those systems and my eyes roll back in my head.

Now, if they were Korean War era jets, I'd be all in.

JG52Krupi 11-09-2012 09:58 PM

Meh jets... not interested :| will come back when a spit/typhoon/109 or 190 has been released.

Feathered_IV 11-09-2012 09:58 PM

I was just thinking the very same thing. Surely a MiG 15/F-86 combo would be a big success.

It's what they invented HOTAS for, they have the same problem in real life.

Yup.....untill we get rudely awaken by reverse indications on the AHARS because the spanner monkey wired it in 180 deg out......oh wait! it was the monkeys day off I remember now, so an engineer did the work .....;)

Ha... you would be running around with your arm stretched out making noises if it wasn't for engineers... :P

what we do in our spare time is nothing to do with engineers.....and if we didn't break them you'd be on the dole que :-P

I bought Lock On after I saw an online airshow with a bunch of guys doing team aerobatic diplays with the Lock On sim. Very impressive stuff but I must admit I never really got past installing it.

Same here, unfortunately. Like so many other games.

mazex 11-09-2012 11:47 PM

Having a lot of fun with the Su-27 in FC3 doing crazy landings and high alpha :)

JG52Uther 11-10-2012 09:36 AM

Is there multiplayer in DCS, something like a lobby or more limited?
