Next...? (WIP's)
Thought I'd create a little WIP thread to show progress on upcoming skins by yours truly..
Here's one from a pack I'm working on... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../5JG27WIPa.jpg *Edit... Have since edited the mottling and the designation's thickness. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ins/Black6.jpg ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ |
The updated mottling is surely closer to the reference picture, but the the previous camo-pattern was pretty cool, just gernally speaking.
Maybe you could use it for a "could have been real" skin. Anyways, looking good m8! |

I like it better in the first picture myself, but thought I'd try to make it look just like the picture. But there again I find myself in the same situation.. I never know just how accurate the artist's picture is. Without a good photo, it's a tough call on which one to use (I still have both). I might wait for more feedback before releasing this one. Generally, I'd like to make the most amount of people happy using one or the other. ______ ______ ______ |
Here's another one that's been collecting dust for a while now..
Not 100% happy with her, so she sits, and waits.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0-21_00005.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0-21_00004.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0-21_00006.jpg |
Very nice mate, lovely scheme. The white bits are a "bit too white".
Hope you dont mind me saying that(i have no knowledge of skinning what so ever)Just saying as i have always(since EAW days)been a fan of skins. As said i hope you dont mind me saying. Thanks Cheese |

Hey EZ, thats 5 Staffel JG27 in the first image. Often in books its shown with the red bar, however every other squadron has the same bar colour as the number! So is this an error somewhere that everyone has copied or did they use a red bar and black letters? Other times you see this Staffel with Black number and black bar?! Which is correct and do you have any info? Was there a date and time this changed over or is it simply an error?
Thanks. |
damn.. Now that you ask, I can't find the photo that I was looking at..
I was using the profile picture, but I had a photo that clearly showed that the colour of the bar was different than the number.. it was in black and white but you could still see the differance. I'll have to do some more digging before releasing this one it seems ;) |
I dont understand why they'd be the only squadron in the Luftwaffe to break the rule?! - But I would not doubt it was not so either because the Luftwaffe is full of contradictions and for every rule theres a counter rule.
Any info you can find would be great! - Ive exhausted my search. |
Thanks Brahim.
It won't be too much longer now.:) |
Farber... Take a look at this pic and tell me that they are the same "colour".
Maybe this is the proof we need? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...d-1940-011.jpg Not the same plane, I know.. but, they don't look the same, and the plane is from the same squadron. I took the photo and took a colour sample of both the number, and the dash. This is what "colour" each one came out as.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/JG26_EZ/2-.jpg Your thoughts.. ? |
Maybe the aircraft recieved a new number and the number paint is fresher?
Maybe they got aircraft from a red numbered squadron - who knows? We really just need colour photo's I think, but I have never found any. |

I think it's the sun making them appear different. The Germans were a bit more particular about markings than the RAF.
|
My opinion...
I don't think it's a new number (absolutely no evidence of the last number is present). I think if they were going to refresh the codes' paint, they'd refresh it all at the same time they had the paint out. I don't think it's the sun (the right side of the bar that is in the shade, still isn't as dark as the number). But... If it can't be proven either way, I guess it all boils down to what you and the rest of the 5./JG27 boys think/want, as really, you guys are now the "new 5./JG27" members (and keeping in mind that your group will probably spend more flight hours than the old 5./JG27 members put in) |
There was an old 5./JG27? - Or you mean the Luftwaffe?
I dont know, in my heart I think its black and black but I have zero proof... :-P |
Sorry for the confusion. I meant the real 5./JG27, and today's "real" 5./JG27 :)
Alright, I'll change it over to black and black until we see better proof that it was red. |
Well' I'd love to find the answer! Weve been going about 3 years or so but never found a conclusion so we took the Luftwaffe rule of black and black...
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0-22_00010.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ns/6patrol.jpg And the original.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0-23_00014.jpg ...I think it's about ready  |
Were building a historical skins section for our squadron, would love to include this one EZ.
|
No problem Farber, and glad to hear you think it's worthy for your site.
It's now up for download, take her for a spin and let me know if she passes or fails  Left Click to download... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...k6_AdClick.jpg |
Not got one without markings? The game adds markings and we have numbers 1-12... :-P
|
Added.
|
Sorry EZ, still cant use it. You left the bear on. :(
|
Quote:
You can get rid of ingame markings by going into the plane options after you have loaded a mission. Look at "markings": http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergal...coddefiant.jpg Sorry for the weird Defiant, didn' t find any better pic. |
Quote:
Yea we use in game markings but then it puts them over again... so you get two sets of markings. |
Done. Blank version is now, practically naked.
|
Thanks, Ill put it to the chaps! ;)
|
Great skins EZ.
These were really needed. S! LC |
Thanks, Black 6 is wonderful!
|
Is the version with the white nose available to download?
|

When the sun rises my friend :) A local hurricane (not the plane) has given me some "extra time" today and tomorrow. I should be able to get it out tomorrow some time. |
Took a while for the sun to rise today I guess :)
I got it finished finally. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...182#post475182 |
EZ,
great skin packs you made. Fantastic work. Thank you mate sharing them all.:-P LC |
|
I like that one a lot!
It has a straight forward coolness to it! Do you have the details, like: What type of Emil, the year, the unit and/or the pilot? |
mmmm very nice
Cheese |
I had a feeling that this one would cause some to salivate :) .
Details: Helmut Henz, 4./JG77, Bf109E-3, Norway, 1940. This pilot also flew other Bf109s aswell. ETA: This weekend, I hope. On Deck: Josef Priller, 1./JG26, Bf109E-7, WNr.7677, Late 1940. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ODskins/69.jpg |
After much editing, ^ Helmut Henz's skin is now up for download..
Now for one of Josef Priller's skins.. Bf109E-7, I./JG26, Josef Priller, Yellow 8 A new, crystal clear photo just surfaced showing Priller's plane with three emblems on the side of the fuselage... Looked like a challenge :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1-11_00047.jpg |
Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-7/Z 1./JG26 'White 8' (W8+) Werk Nr 7677 Josef Priller France
Hi Ez it's Matthew
When I sent you the picture I checked with my Luftwaffe experts and it was white not yellow 8. The publications are not always right and I try verify information. Since my site www.asisbiz.com is being used as a reference site I'm constantly trying to add and correct errors. Before you uploaded the skin please make it a white 8. Thanks mate8:):):) Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-7/Z 1./JG26 'White 8' (W8+) Werk Nr 7677 Josef Priller France late 1940 Photo Comments: Stab III./JG 26 White 8 Josef Priller [101] *JG26 showing early emblem. E-7 WNr.7677 and not Early 1940 but Late 1940. Priller was appointed Stfkpt of 1./JG 26 in November coming from 6./JG 51. Josef Priller came from 6./JG 51 then 1./JG 26 and then he went to III./JG 26 then Stab JG 26. The second picture is the same plane, also published in Prien 4.I, page 301, but the eagle has been painted over. You can see two hatches; one under the "8" the second just upper, in the middle of the "8". It is an E-7/Z. PS I can't wait for this skin  |
Heh! I shall make it white.
Good to find out before the release, thanks. PS.. I'll try not to keep you waiting too long. |
Here are the markings "as is", transfered from the actual pic (minus the 8 ), and enhanced.
Still some green paint to mess around with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...erSubPilot.jpg |
|
Noticed the outline of the 8 wasn't quite dark enough, and the size of the heart was way off, so I went back to editing the skin, then back into the game to steal a screenshot, and then back to photoshop to do this pic once again...
Now I worry about what mottling it had, I'm not quite sure if that's what I'm seeing or not. Anyone care to speculate? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ixedHearts.jpg |
Keep up the good work JG26_EZ, and you'll eventually turn into the next Kristorf!
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...storfNoooo.jpg
How could I possibly paint a plane that I plan on shooting down? ;) |
If skinning was a buffet, I'd be in trouble...
I have an eleven skin project I'm thinking of doing.. This would be 4 of 11 (Still a WIP) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1-18_00007.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1-18_00009.jpg |
|
Hey JG26,
thats awesome, its my Staffel i fly with. Its 6/JG26. Cant wait to see those beauties. I fly #5 in that Staffel. You can select them in CLOD. Is it possible to make #5 for me???????? So please go on with 6 Staffel.;) Thank you and those skins are WANTED dead or alive. S! |
Well Summers, I've got six completed ...out of 12. Unfortunately for you, number five is still not done due to the odd looking "5" it used (seen in photos). At the moment, I am going to have to do custom numbers for "three" and "five" until/if I can find the correct font. These two planes will be the last to leave "the paintshop" unless this changes, sorry.
PS. Nice to know I'll be painting a fellow JG26er's plane. |
Almost done..
I think this is as close as I'm going to get the number 5. The comparison pic will be on it's way shortly (once finished).. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1-19_00001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...m-1940-011.jpg |
WOW!!!!!
BEAUTIFULL!!!! I am speechless. Thanks alot buddy, this will be great..:-P Thats perfect for me. Cant wait to fly my brown 5 or 4. Thank you very much. S! LC |
When released, you'll notice small differences with each skin (whatever I've noticed in the photographs, I've tried to add to the particular skin). For example.. Brown 11 seems to have larger markings on the fuselage.
Been having a hell of a time trying to get the "8" just right, another custom number I forgot to mention I had to do. This is what I've come up with so far.. Original Pic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n8Original.jpg Mine in black and white. ...and in colour. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...own8GScale.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ins/Brown8.jpg |
|
Downloaded them, comment is on the other blog.
Fantastic. I really enjoy this pack!!!!! S! |
Glad
Here we go with my next project... Still a wip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...HereWeCome.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ereWeCome2.jpg After doing some work on contrast.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-01_00009.jpg |

Nice skins EZ!
http://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/other/ahh Quote:
Only, right term which was used to call people from Yugoslavia is Yugoslavs (not Yugoslavians)... Also, plane in that skin should be Me-109E3 not E4. Maybe you used E4 to show colors, without "forced" heavy weathering for E3 which we sadly have in-game. Plane no.26 is that of Captain 1st Class, Mihajlo Miho Klavora (1905 - 1941). He was the pilot of the Yugoslav Royal Air Force who died on 7th April 1941. while defending the capitol, Belgrade. https://forum.worldofwarplanes.com/i...E2%80%94-1941/ http://www.elknet.pl/acestory/belgra/belgra1.htm Here couple of shots of my effort to skin the same plane... http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...2-04_00008.jpg http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...2-04_00007.jpg http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...2-04_00002.jpg And this is the plane in German civil markings that he flew from Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke in Austria to Zemun RYAF airfield on 19.10.1939. http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...2-04_00004.jpg Older screenshots, before forced heavy weathering... http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...f109e3yu05.jpg http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/...f109e3yu06.jpg Royal Yugoslav Air Force acquired 74 Bf 109E-3s redesignated Me 109E. Until the unconditioned capitulation was signed, all of the machines were destroyed in air - fighting or on the ground, by crews to prevent them being captured. If you're interested to make some more Yugoslav skins, take a look at these couple of links: http://allaircraftsimulations.com/fo...hilit=yugoslav http://allaircraftsimulations.com/fo...bb48c4a797d40a |
Ahhhh very cool!
Thanks very much for the info and the pics. |
Here's my next project.. Still very early in the works.
Bf109E-3, Eduard Hemmerling, 6/JG51 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-07_00008.jpg |
|
Still working, with lots to do yet.
Looking at the pics at the asisbiz site, I see a black and white photo, aswell as some more modern photos. I have to wonder if this Bf109 had both the owl and the lamb on it or if we're seeing two different planes.. Seems a bit much, but who am I to judge. Anyways.. I've got both ready, and should I have to remove one or the other, it won't be a problem. Back to the mottling for now.. Take a look and see what you think.. http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/B...emmerling.html http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-08_00002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-08_00001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-08_00003.jpg |
Progress...
Before I'm finished, how about someone giving their two-cents and letting me know if these are modern day markings or not (pictures of the other side DO display the WNr.#). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/JG26_EZ/mdm.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-09_00002.jpg |

looking nice bro
You're doing a great job thanks mate8
Yes they are modern marking it's the US FAA reg all US aircraft start with N and commonly known as November reg aircraft. Always N means US reg. ;) |
Thanks for the info guys.
Some final touches.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-09_00013.jpg |
I must have missed something- where can I download these esp that pretty pre-war skin?
|
The pre-war skin is Shtele's.. You'll have to see if he responds here to your question, or maybe PM him.
The rest of the skins are available (in the skins and repaints section) except for this one (pic below) that is still a WIP. The Yugoslavia skin I was working on, got put on hold because it appears that Shtele's has got it painted already . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-09_00006.jpg Took the colours and shook them up a bit more.. I think this looks more accurate. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-09_00018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...2-09_00014.jpg |
Is Stehle posting somewhere on this thread?
Also you say yours are available here in Skins somewhere? |

The "Skins and Repaints" section of this forum.. All the threads there, and on other pages that were started by me that have an aircraft/squad/pilot listed is a download. This is just my WIP thread where I can post images of up and coming skins that you guys can give criticsm on before I put the things up for download. All the download links take you to the download location at www.Airwarfare.com http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...Animation2.gif |
I see you have 1 notification EZ!
I was thinking of posting aGif with flashing arrows pointing to it, but thought better of it:-). |
lmfao.. very funny :-P
|
...and so ends my skinning for COD.
With the latest news, which means ClOD won't be expanded upon, I've decided to hang up my paintbrush. Catch you all later. S~ |
Quote:
Well enjoy your rest...I'm going to run over there and get the skins of yours that I missed. I intend to fly Clod for the foreseeable future.;)...if you get bored you can make me a E3 tribute skin to/in honor of luthier and Oleg & 1C |

Quote:
Not really, I like all of your skins so what ever you think appropriate  maybe no number would be best if possible |
That was quick :)
No number, aswell as no nationality markings, correct? What about the hakenkreuz? |
Quote:
Yes, but I would need the hakenkreuz and is a E3 |
Okay.. I have the plane/skin in mind.
Funny though.. I could only find one pic with the "Devil in the Clouds" emblem, and it was 12./JG1. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps0014b335.jpg |
Nice looking, 12 it is then:-P
|
This is where I am so far...
I have to make it with markings to "feel" it, but don't worry, I'll make a blank one aswell. Now's the time for negative or positive feedback.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psb11c13f4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps87f214df.jpg |
Beautiful mate,what a stunning skin;)
|
Wow EZ that is gorgeous!..you really work fast, and cheap too:-P
|
Thanks guys.
Here's a couple more pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps7be2f96a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps51023da4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps5744aff6.jpg |
Oh! and regarding the "cheap" statement...
All I require is maybe a screenshot of it in action (if the opportunity presents itself), ...it's a small price to ask. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psa8030037.jpg |
Payment recieved, thank you very much

Working on Swiss Army Planes (hopefully making a whole Swiss Plane Pack) again here a quick screen on how things are at the newest one :
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...hs-pb-704a.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...hs-pc-7ce3.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...hs-pe-0787.jpg http://www.ipms.ch/files/public/1335...86-01-800_.jpg @JG26_EZ nice skins but maybe you try to also add a little more dirt or environment to it It looks like it has not seen sky jet xd. |
I could have added some, yes, but every plane, at one point in time, wasn't covered in exhaust smoke residue. Perhaps you could pretend that it's a brand new Bf109 that's just been flown from the factory to your airfield. I painted it, now it's up to you to get it dirty and maybe add the ingame weathering if you have to, it's kinda hit and miss for me when I try to use it, so I'm not really sure how well it works. Attack a couple of bombers and see just how new your machine looks then.
Truth be told, I stopped skinning for CloD before I could get a nice weathering layer done. ...Or so I thought I had stopped. |
EZ are those my emblems on the nose and fusealage?
If so they look better in game than I thought they would! |
My humble appologies Spektre.. I can't believe I forgot to mention that.
I used the Stab emblem (Black,White and Red Cross) from your jpeg, as I had forgot where I stored that file/link you sent (the layered version). The "Devil in the clouds" I had grabbed off of the net because the edge of that particular emblem was easier to cut out. I am going to request again that you upload it somewhere official so that we skinners can grab it when we need it. That mediafire link will only last so long before they delete it, and what you have created is beautiful, and will surely be used for years to come as long as they don't disappear forever. |
Quote:
I would like to have those emblems as layered files too. Airwarfare allow you to upload for free. You need to register though. You might need to zip the files first, I'm unsure. http://airwarfare.com/sow/index.php/...-paint-schemes Click on 'submit file' to register and upload. . |
With renewed hope thanks to "Team Fusion", I decided to fire-up my paintbrush again and share some of the wip pics.
