My latest Nv Profile

2 Attachment(s)
Here's a copy of the latest Nvidia Inspector profile that I'm using. The latest patch that I am using is beta 20172. I'm using this in conjunction with EVGA Precision Tool to balance the different cards that I use (1 x EVGA, 1 x Asus). I have also found that by using the fps limiter built into this tool, most of the stutters that I have been experiencing have disappeared.

There are no changes to the profile below screen 2.

I have not at this stage applied the latest patch dated October 12th.

Edit: - Here's a forum that may help those that are having trouble setting up their Sli, this give specifics on how to do it with Nvidia control panel and how to check if it is running correctly.

You don't need to balance cards, nvidia automatically forces both card to run at the same spec (lowest) when SLI is in enabled

RickRuski 10-13-2012 03:48 AM

Yes rObc, I realise that but both my cards are factory o/c and I have taken them back to standard clocks and voltages.

Silly question
Why?

RickRuski 10-13-2012 07:06 AM

Less stress, cooler running. Don't know what sort of temps your card(s) are running at but currently prior to the latest patch both my cards are running at about 35% use and temps in the 40--45Deg range, pc runs cooler and quieter. Plus the demand on my 1gb cards is also down from normally running near max to about 80% V/ram demand (this has a lot to do with fps limiting). I've just been trying different things to get the best results I can until we get an official profile from nvidia, and by the sounds of Luthiers last post that may be still some time away seeing it won't happen until the final release goes to Steam.

im using a little of yours and a little of the one they posted fps locked at 60

RickRuski 10-13-2012 07:33 AM

Hi Pegasus,

Your 2 x 570's are good cards and shouldn't have any trouble with 60fps, my 2 x Gts 450's will run those fps but not without increased stutters. Got my fps locked at 35fps, that is giving me much better results from what i was getting. I've just downloaded the latest patch and will try to find some time to instal it over the weekend. Will wait and see what results I get.

I'd never do that unless it was overheating and locking up or something., even then I'd just RMA it.
80% plus use and temps around 90 Deg with GTX 480's....I couldn't care less if it burns down the house....if it was going to it would have by now.
Your using 450s...you need every frame you can squeeze out of them.

OT Just seen your specs...your lucky
My buddy had a Q6700 OC @ 3.6 and tried 2 X HD5870 , It worked but not to good.

RickRuski 10-13-2012 08:15 AM

rObc,

Unfortunately it doesn't always seem to work that way, performance is way up on what I was getting by letting it all hang out. Increasing fps it appears doesn't always cure the problem. Just like the tortise and the hare, sometimes smarter and slower wins. My system will run most of the single player missions 45--90fps over land and 80--120fps over water, but I have worse stuttering (almost unplayable) with the latest patches.

So I was looking for a solution to the problem, result limit fps and it has worked for me.

Until someone can come up with a better suggestion that's my setting.

Up grading to a couple of better cards is not an option just for C.o.D., the cost of that exersise here in NZ is about $1300-00nzd for 2 x GTX670's, my whole system didn't cost me that much to build.

Sorry just noticed your resolution

He111 10-13-2012 01:41 PM

Thanks Rick, i've finally got SLI working, both cards seem balanced (sharing the load) but no increase in FPS ? which can fall to <10 when a plane is taking off (grass sprites, dust sprites the prob i think)

.

RickRuski 10-13-2012 08:15 PM

He111,

Glad you have it balanced, but you are right, there doesn't seem to be a large increase in fps with Sli at the moment. Guess it will be another wait until the final patch goes to Steam to find out and that could be some weeks away. I haven't installed the latest patch yet, today if I can find some time.

FS~Phat 10-14-2012 07:22 AM

If you use the profile Luthier posted in RC2 you will get better results than with inspector.

Just remember to add the full path to the launcher (which includes "program files (x86)" if your using 64bit OS)
