Has the FPS drop been fixed when zoomed in?

I haven't played online since the last patch and have packed all my flight gear away, so i have not tested the FPS drop when zoomed in bug with the latest patch, but im getting the urge back to try again.

So has it been fixed or improved?

The bug for me was when tracking a target and then going to gunsight view to shoot my FPS would drop to single figures and be unplayable.

Cheers.

Hello, since the patch before this last one, I too have had a bug with the zoom in, mine does not drop to single digits fps , however, I get a wicked prop flutter and flicker in the zoom area, very annoying. This patch did not fix it, leave it to the last patch to create a bug which is horrible and exactly the time you dont need it, when firing guns in combat. My video card is nvidea gtx 580 with 3 gigs ram.

Thanks...looks good...questions:

1. Are you running vsync on or off?
2. What driver release are you running for your nvidia?
3. Im on update 2011, your on 20172, where do I get the additional update?

Thanks so much! Hope I can get rid of this glitch, as otherwise the game runs quite smoothly now.

The last patch seems to have fixed it for me...including the slow down in the vicinity of manned enemy aircraft.:)

Hi

For me et became better with the last patch. Still less fps when zooming in, but far away from being unplayable because of this.

Good news, i will give it a another go later today.

thanks chaps.

My prop "flicker" seems worse, tried vsync on and off..appears not to make much of a difference. It seems zoomed in or out, I get a LOT of flicker (horizontal) from the prop, esp in the 109...and I've checked screen shots months back, was not an issue. The latest patches have cleared out all the micro stutter, and m fps has gone way up, otherwise very happy, but if your flying a sim in combat, and during dogfight, the aiming circle goes all wonky, its no fun at all.
I hate the notion of fixing two things and at the expense of something else going wrong.

i have the same problem, but only sometimes....i think its connected with clouds.if they are in your surrounding, and you zoom into a target, then it happens.if there is clear blue sky, it wont....it least thats my impression.

ATAG_Bliss 10-11-2012 06:40 AM

I have the same problem but I don't think it's gotten any better for a while now. It seems I get tearing when zoomed in on the prop and the glare off of it compounds the issue.

I wonder if the cloud shadows going in both directions is causing more of an effect? You would think being above the clouds should be a similar glare to a day without any clouds at all - unless water reflection adds to it? I guess a better question, has anyone seen glare on the prop with moon light/at night?

But the biggest killer of all, at least on my system is the particle/smoke effects. Have a Ju87/88 at the wrong idle RPM and my PC falls just about locks up.

yeah dust on ground got worse for me...before the beta patches, my fps dropped to ~15,...now it drops to 1~5fps when taking off and looking back or sideways...

1. Vsync on in NVIDIA Control Panel and off ingame;

2. 306.23

And FXAA on too.

Thanks for your help, still trying to figure this out, I'll try turning cloud off. Newest nvidia drivers did not help at all.
