Yes, it's the badly optimised/coded dust, turn effects to medium and put up with blocky and pixelated lighting/tracer effects or put up with it.

Try turning down the effects settings, and grass if you have it on. These are the usual suspects for poor performance on the ground.
|
For me it is also the buildings-details...
|
It's the dust.

If you have an ATI card (like me) then it will caused by the dust, Nvidia and it will be your overall settings ie grass, dust and so fourth along with building detail.
People have given all reasons above, but worth mentioning that the "Brands" have an effect. EDIT* Tavington is that DLC request video in your sig for real? |
just buy a nvidia geforce GTX 670

as is my gtx580...
A friend has the gtx680 and is equally affected by the dust...Just bad coding.. |
My solution, until the problem is fixed, is to look down so that the panel takes up about 75% of the picture, until I am off the runway. After that, the dust and grass no longer affect the frame rate.

Which version are you talking about?
The latest beta the dust particle issue isnt as bad. I just did a couple of quick tracks with 6 aircraft taking off and my FPS on the ground is normally around 45FPS with all details on max and it only drops to 24FPS at the absolute worst and normally drops to 30FPS with dust. This is not low enough to cause any stutter or loss of smoothness on my system. I tried several angles and camera views and got pretty much the same result. |
