SLI Support?
Can we have an official word on SLI support? I installed the new 305.53 Beta Drivers and tried setting up SLI. Game behaves strange now. Colors are much more bluieish and are kind of lightly flickering with AFR2 or AFR activated.
Some clarification from the devs on this issue would be really nice! Winger |

Again an SLI request..... I don't say anything about it... :)
We had an official statement on that for this upcoming patch, but I do not know, where it is currently. As far as I can say, they tried to get support for this topic for this beta, but they were not sure, if they will get it. Unofficial beta patches usually do not get support for that feature. So I would say: No SLI support in this game version. I think, they will get it for the next official steam patch release. Perhaps someone can state the right words from b6 or luthier. Nevertheless do not await a great performance increase, if your single video card has only 1.5 gb vram!!! ;) |
I wish they would the SLI problem sorted to

Where did you get the 305.53 drivers from? according to the Nvidia site the latest beta drivers are 304.79. No official drivers after that. Latest official drivers WHQL are 301.42 both 32 and 64 bit.
(Edit) looks like you might have downloaded these from Guru 3D, these aren't listed on the Nvidia site as being released. My Sli system is working resonably well with 304.79 try that |
With the help of simple transactions, able to run 2 cores at GTX590.

The pseudo settings removes the flashing water I usually get with AFR2 and it certainly gives a good impression of a working SLI. Using 1 590 (which has 2 GPUs) the black death track uses both cores at around 30% and Vram ~ 1100, temps at ~60c this with everything very high. I lock my frame rates lower than many believe is acceptable (24) but it looks very smooth and there's no stuttering, just a brief slow-down when the Spit gets hit on the runway. I expect to be able to raise this before getting stutters but I personally don't need to. I'm not good at getting screen-shots of my settings, results and stuff and am not good at being scientific but am willing to try. Cheers, Septic. |

I'm almost positive a post was put up saying SLI works in CLOD, but Nvidia hasn't put something specific in their drivers yet for CLOD to take full advantage of it, or something like that. Just going off what I can remember.

I mentioned I want to get a new card this fall to some of the fellas and they all said don't waste time, effort and money on SLI for this game. I will just get a single card for it.

Funny, Sli seems to be working reasonably for me. I have some micro stutters as I have always said but Sli gives me nearly double the frame rates of a single card in my setup. With GTS 450's some would think that I shouldn't be getting the results that I have so something with my system must be working. Those that aren't getting the results that they think they should with Sli, try altering the Nvidia Inspector profile to get the best you can until official support arrives (if you don't use N/I download and install it and if necessary make your own profile, or have a look at my post on the subject and use that as a start point).

Rick Rusky, i tried your sli config but i have bad results. My fps are ranging 20/60 (vsync on) and have lots of stutters. Im new to sli, just bought a second hand gtx 580 3gb phantom last week and im trying to configure to clod.
Im using nvidia drivers 301.42 and the last beta patch, do you have your sli config working on the last nvidia driver? or you are still using 285.27? Im not sure if changing this can improve my sli performance. |

Hi Guys,
What I've done is no O/C of V/cards. I'm using EVGA precision tools to balance both cards to same clocks, this tool will work with any Nvidia cards. I'm also using Nvidia Inspector to make my own profile that my previous post refers to. I don't have Vsync on, I've also turned off shadows and grass. Can't see any sense having grass on when all the flight action is normally 1000m + (who can see the grass details from that height?) even if you are doing ground attack the aircraft is going too quick to see much detail like grass. About the only time you will have the advantage of seeing that will be during take off and landing. Wolo, your card if I have it right is a dual chip on the one card, I don't have any experience with those, maybe another member who has a similar setup to you could help with that. Here's some screen shots of my Inspector settings, video setup and action screen low over London. There are 2 lots of screens no.1 are with grass and shadows ON, no.2 are with those 2 turned OFF you can see the big difference in fps. I don't appear to have any tearing so I don't use vert/sync. I have tried AA and don't see a lot of advantage using anything over 2x . In the screen of my C/P you will notice that in the physics panel I have nominated CPU, I find that works best for me (even though C.o.D dosen't use physics). Haven't seen your what your pc system is, what M/b, ram, CPU etc. Have you got any of it o/clocked? Can't get files upload to work at the moment, will upload later. |

Wolo, Here's the other 2 screens.

My systems specs are:
i5 2500k 4.2 2 gtx 580 3 gb ( single core each, no overclocked ) 8 gb ram ssd 120 gb p8p67 pro I will try lowering some settings like shadows, forests etc... for testing if i get better results. To the people who have sli working, which nvidia drivers are you using? |

as you can see im running a modest system here is a couple more screenies
newest beta drivers 305.53 1 over London 2 my in game settings |
I'm using the Nvidia beta drivers latest release from Nvidia (304.79). Wolo those cards should eat C.o.D. I've found that my modest system will run with everything on max but at lower frame rates (sometimes dropping as low as 19fps) but still playable. Are both your cards from the same stable if not you may find they are running at different clocks (mine aren't and I have balanced them to the same speeds and voltage with EVGA Precision Tool).
Pegasus_Eagle, where did you get the 305.53 drivers? the only place I can see these is Guru 3D and as I understand they might not be from Nvidia, are these running ok for you? I noticed a post on the forum saying that the poster was having trouble with those. My twin GTS 450's are giving me good frame rates and only micro stutters with the settings I am using, you must remember my monitor is only 19" and has max resolution 1440 x 900 so my cards don't have the same stress trying to produce higher resolutions that a 24" monitor would have. Plus the resolution that I'm using is 1280 x 960. All my settings are "High" except for forests and buildings which are "Med", I'm finding that AA is not a bother for me so use 2x max. Are you using Nvidia Inspector? if not give that a try it's the only way you will be able to adjust Sli profile. In that you have an over clocking section this is also where I have the settings to match my Precision Tool settings. Check and see if your temps and % of use between your two cards are nearly the same, if there is a major difference your Sli may not be working correctly. |
yes im using nvida inspector and and i did do some fiddling in there and yes both of my cards are matched evga 570 with 1.5 gig factory oc to 810 and im running a 32 in led monitor im not having any trouble with the 305 drivers working good here im running 1600/900 native is 1920/1080 all high no trees but grass and shadows on pretty smooth game play and both cards are running close together avg from 35% on both to 90% some times on both cards
|
OK, thanks for that Pegasus_Eagle I might try those and see how they perform.
(Edit.) Tried the 305.53 but find the beta 304.79 work better for me at the moment, so staying with them. Once the next set of drivers have official backing will try those. The 305.53 drivers aren't listed with Nvidia at the moment and I see that they maybe a developers release from other posts I have read. |
