I've had enough!
Over a year of waiting to get this game fixed & expecting a good Patch today, I've finally had enough of broken promises from the devs. They can't even be bothered to update Fridays post!! :(
|
I don't have any problems with CoD.
Please close the door quietly as you leave. The silent majority are sleeping.... Best Regards, MB_Avro. |

And if you seriously play with that "computer" in your sig I just want to mention that even if you intend to sell CloD you won't be able to afford a decent gaming platform with that alone. What you actually would have to do is throw away that thing and get a computer that's actually able to play at least Lemmings or some other DOS game in full hd... At least that would eventually fix a couple of the issues you have with CloD. :-P |

Lol, too funny, that he thinks, that the game will ever run on his laptop!
Mattius, sorry, but which modern game do you intend to run on your 100-bucks-machine? Seriously.... Ehm....Forget to buy any known game of the last 2-3 years. Even il2 1946 will not run in full settings and hsfx/ultra pack. Great ambition to think, that u can run cod on a notebook, when you see, that some of the guys here even have problems with their 1500 $ rigs. Sure a little bit oversteered from my side, but anyone who thinks about running games on a notebook: Do not complain, if it runs like crap. Your fault to buy expensive mobile shit.... Explicit warning: Not for gaming!!! :) |

If I remember correctly, we both received them by the end of the day. And we're both still here, still ranting, still raving......which shows we both still care I suppose. So, back to biplanes and ugly jets for now then...... |

I didn't even notice he had a laptop. HAHAHA!!! I bet he is one of the 4 people from the Direct x poll that still run DX9 or maybe 8 ;) Yeah I am at work so posting like a crazy guy today. :D |
illegal to sell steam games....HAHA thats laughable....
while they do make it very hard for you to sell it (since the acct is bound to the cd key, you just give them the acct and password as well.....) i know i use one acct per game that was i can do this if i want..... its not illegal to resell something even a license to a product....regardless of what the tos says, tos can not trump law....common sense please people.... |

The only license mentioned in the Steam Subscriber Agreement is the Steam-client itself. Everything else is handled as subscriptions, which basically means that Steam can do whatever they want, whenever they want with whatever you've "subscribed" to. It's one of the dirty little secrets of Steam, and one that damn near everyone either don't know about or don't care about. Read the full SSA here |
The forums are more fun than the sim. :!:

You are right. Nothing is wrong with this game. It runs very good at my PC and I can shoot down enemy planes :!: |

There's a chance that that may be illegal. |

Frankly, I am amazed that CLoD with maxed out settings runs as smooth as it does on my machine. I had much greater problems with IL2 when it came out. I agree to the Launcher crashes, however, those have to go. IL2 was rock stable, wished that was the case for CloD |

I'm sorry there is not much you can do with a laptop. I suggest you upgrade your system to a desktop or write It off to a bad choice. I've lost count of how many games I bought and played for less than 5hrs and just have to write off. Sorry for your issues but here is no point carrying on. Laptops are not officially supported they mostly have lower than entry level desktop GPU capability which makes them unsuitable for games with large viewing distances and large detailed textures. |

You all assume incorrectly that performance is my issue, IT'S NOT!!
For All the knowalls that call my laptop laughable, please note:-
How Come FSX, Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Take On Helicopter, Rise Of Flight, Trainsim 2012, Total War Series & many other TOP Games run pretty well on this Laptop. It's NOT FPS I have a problem with, it's buggy, unfinished features & Launcher.exe crashes that are doing my head in!! Considering I paid over £60 for this game I think I have a right to have a moan. I've NOT moaned that much. |

Sure it also has something to do with coding, but you don't really think to run a sim game on a notebook. Sims naturally demand also a lot of cpu power and a mobile "dual core" with under 2 ghz raw power is not a good choice.
I run an i7-920 @ 4 ghz on for real cores and there are still games like arma2 etc. where my cpu is limiting the performance in some circumstances (warfare with a lot of things happening). But increasing raw power of my i7 brought a lot of effort for performance. In this case, performance is gameplay without stutters and more stable fps. Please do not make the fault to look on the fps increase, because in most cases, a new cpu do not help to increase fps very much. Sometimes I see guys with a 2500k or 2600k cpu and a gtx 590 discussing about a new cpu, instead of talking about the problems of a gtx 590 or about their crappy hdd with 7200 rpm or crappy ram or crappy mainboards or simply about their crappy knowledge about it. Also the ability to tweak a game is not existent, as they are coming from consoles and just pull the trigger to maximum and say: Why is it not working? After that they buy a 2500$ maschine and still run it in wrong settings, so that they are becoming angry about the hardware, because they see people with less power running at the same level as their rig. I hate kids are able to talk about their hardware and name themselves pros in pc matters. And the best is: 90% of this bf3 and cod:mw kids are not learning and you cannot convince them, as they will never say by themselves, that they are wrong!! :( Omg, sry, back to topic! What was it?... ;) |
Well games like Totalwar series Take on helicopters/Arm2 engine Rise of flight there not console ports. So if he can run them he could atleast get CLOD playable on his machine.

skyrim looks nice but is also multiplatform game, which is not really demanding; The witcher is also not very demanding; take on helicopter is arma engine: single player not demanding, but when you would play multiplayer with a lot happening on the island, you will never run it sufficiently, even on 800x600 resolution, as the objects would simply burn your cpu to death; Rof: cannot say, but is dx9 and scales pritty good and uses multicore. Dont know, how demanding it is, but you have a 1600x1200? monitor and run no native resolution? This tells much! Even 1600x1200 is just average detail/resolution; Trainsim: holy crab, this was commodore 64? -> as demanding as farmerama ->today u get such things for mobile phone or as browser game :) Total war: in high details also nice to look, but i think you do not play shogun2 or the other new parts in high detail -> also not demandin in the same way as cliffs of dover. It simply shows, that you do not ask yourself, what the differences and priorities in all these games are -> this leads me to a result, that you seem to be casual gaming, right? Do not get me wrong! You are right, that game code has a lot of problems, but cliffs of dover, even in a perfectly programmed version, will NEVER run sufficiently on your notebook. Sorry! But you are right about the problems, but the engine includes features, which you haven't seen in any other sim in this detail. Noone ask for fm in lockon, dcs or rof. You jist fly for fun and do not care, if this specific fokker is really flying like in reality. The cod com is in this way really by far the most demanding comunity!!!! |

1. It is NOT $100 buck machine. It was £800 2. It plays other games including recent ones pretty well! 3. It is Not a Notebook but a fairly good spec'd Laptop. 4. An Alienware M18x is A GAMING Machine & IS A LAPTOP! 5. My Problems are NOT performance related. I Never said it runs like crap! 6. My Laptop is good enough to enable shadows! 7. Please read a post properly before you spout you ignorance. |

Laptop and Mac can t be good for gaming... |
So what your saying is unless you have a rig like Phat CLOD aint gunna run and we should forget about it. Well thats gunna be great for server population have fun playing on your own.
|
@gilmc123 Im sorry but thats just not true and you are clearly trolling.
I can run COD on my i7 330GT laptop at about 20-25FPS at reduced settings without issue. Yes I have an overkill system but it is not required for this game. COD doesnt even use more than 1GPU and it still runs just fine. There are plenty of people on here with much lesser machines than mine without problems. @Mattius I think since you have made your point and I have attempted to answer you helpfully and honestly that you are only here to troll so I am locking the thread. You yourself said you were going off to play ROF.. So run along and stop causing trouble. You obviously dont want our help. |
