next season... looks like you can buy the trophy... unless the scousers try harder, Utd will always own the record... fergie might have to spend a few bob, but noisy neighbours are still just a nuisance...:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

i like this thread.

dirty rags acting like they've not bought their success is always amusing as well. sky over-inflated the value of success and made it a self-perpetuating elite. not any more.

out played you in all the derby games this year, says it all.

Trumper 05-14-2012 09:46 AM

 Which PROFESSIONAL football club hasn't bought it's success or failure.I used to follow football but would prefer to watch the local team where the players play because they want to.

out-played due to injuries... two-faced tevez and botulism being your top dogs? at least ALL the united players respect fergie... mancini needs to man up to those clowns... just glad we're not paid in dirham... dollars bad enough...

Trumper 05-15-2012 08:27 AM

:confused:So Man utd don't buy their success then? .I could list the players that they have poached /bought from other clubs just like you can for all.
Man Utd and the other big clubs are only that because

1 They have alot of mugs -sorry fans throughout the world buying merchandise

2 Rich owners who pump money into the club

3 Success encourages the big fish (with inflated wages) to false loyalties.

In my opinion the best managers are those that work with a fraction of the expense and survive and do well, punching above the belt--David Moyes ,Paul Lambert for example.
Personally i would love to see a rule come in that says the managers are moved around every 5 years to see whether the likes of Fergie could manage a poor team to success.

out played due to being better. outscored, out defended, outplayed in all three derbies - even the one we lost with 10 men. arsenal can complain about injuries for that 8-2 drubbing, but united... nah.

tevez was slapped down by mancini and he has all the other players' - and the fans' - respect for his handling of the little troll. the top dogs are vinny, hart, yaya and sergioooooo by a mile, with barry getting an honourable mention for his unglamorous but diligent work. and pablo because he's ace. to even single out those players feels wrong because everyone has been fantastic this year.

factoid - united's starting XI on sunday cost more than city's.

i've followed city from the early 90's - i've stood then sat in the kippax, watched us get relegated, play third division football, earn a last minute reprieve at wembley in '99, the false dawns, the bellowing for swales's head. the pain, the misery, the gallows humour, the humiliation... and finally the ecstasy.

i fully concur that managers like moyes and lambert and rogers have done fantastically, but conversely you sometimes see these managers who do well on a shoestring budget get a job with a richer (not bigger) club... and they do woefully. since sky came in it's a self-perpetuating hegemony at the top level, and the only way to break into it is a rich owner, such as jack walker at blackburn, abramovich at chelsea and mansour at city. sticking is the trick, money doesn't get you success, it can only assist - the players, the manager and the team ethic are what wins things.

fruitbat 05-15-2012 12:00 PM

Listening to utd fans claiming and whining about city having bought the title is hypocrisy of an epic scale.

It was fine when they were the richest club and were doing it, cry me a river:rolleyes:

I'm still laughing.....

What's the difference between UTD fans and shitty fans?...
UTD fans don't cry when they lose

Come back when you've got something to shout about... we lost it, more than you won it! enjoy your moment in the manc rain! UTD's reign is longer, and sweeter...
...it takes a scumbag, I suppose... and, by the way, for the record- you give fruitbats a bad name...
:grin::grin::grin:
game over... see you next season....

Are you serious? Obviously, you're too young to appreciate the meaning of tradition, honour and pride! ...Do you even understand the offside rule?

.

I agree wholeheartedly.
Just like Sir Alex Ferguson, they never could take losing with honor. Nah, everything BUT the team will be found guilty of their failure - starting from someone having better transfering ideas, poor referees (Fergie does his part here), unjuries and faaaar worse matchday fixtures.

Anybody ever heard of Ashley Young?

Should have won the derby when they had a chance.

Congrats, I was very happy for you when Aguero scored:grin:

Al Schlageter 05-16-2012 11:49 AM

City was lucky to win. Even with QPR down to 10 men they couldn't score in regular time.

Who is going to watch the Bayern Munich vs Chelsea game?

retrojet 05-17-2012 02:36 AM

Comparing the seasons gameplay... spurs deserve a spot... but if the blues take barca and then bm... then, well done the pensioners... except for terry who is a complete arsehole of the highest level... just like suarez, tevez and barton...
I'm talking sportmanship... not skill...

fruitbat 05-17-2012 07:49 AM

add rooney to that list, he'd be in jail if he didn't have good foot eye co-ordination (along with terry). Of course biggest shit award goes to giggs, for sleeping with his brothers wife. What a role model.

As to the final, don't really care either way, can't seem to get remotly excited about it.

Actually yes ,i went to professional football matches before there were foreign imports, when British players players for British clubs. Before the Trevor Francis broke the 1 million pound mark.
Oh and i do understand the offside rule as well.

Every club has a tradition, some a huge amount some not so big but just as important for them.

Ploughman 05-17-2012 09:48 AM

I listened on the radio with some people in the pub, I couldn't give an otter's hind nipple for Premiership footie but the way Man City contrived to nearly lose the league to ten QPR players only to win with two goals in injury time (which is such a Man Utd thing to do) made for some exciting theatre.

I was entertained.

Thank you Man City for making such a glorious hash of it, you can't make this stuff up.

retrojet 05-18-2012 02:13 AM

armchairs... all round... you should try the stands now and again... too many big screen managers nowadays... get some fresh air... it'll do you good...

=CfC= Father Ted 05-18-2012 02:55 PM

The problem with having a manager who seems to do well without squillions of quid is that you won't have him for long *sighs*

bw_wolverine 05-18-2012 02:58 PM

Bah! The championship is the better league :)

Go Birmingham City!

sure they do, you not see the pictures?

the difference between united and city fans is that we were there when we were crap.

8 points clear and you blew your chance, so we won it. in typical city fashion, making heavy weather of it on the final day. the scum have only been really successful in the premier league era, thanks to one manager that we nearly got sacked when we beat you 5-1.

noisy neighbours are just going to get noisier.

they didn't have a single on-target shot in the last derby. not a single one.

fergie tried to complain about the extra time we scored in, but considering barton's escapade took the about 4 minutes, that means only one additional minute for 6 substitutions, the goals and fouls. certainly not "fergie-time" levels.
