Not that crazy! ;)

zakkandrachoff 05-12-2012 03:32 AM

1° open il2. and fly an Me262 and shoot only one cannon MK108 against a P-51D and tell me what happens

2° try to make that loop 360° (like WWI) with a P51D

3° P51D against Bf109G6 ??? at that time you have BF109G10 and G16, maybe you can have G6AS. OMG

4° and the fockewulf???

:!::evil::-x

When watching this movie a week or two ago, i laughed out loud, at least 4 or 5 times during the flight sequences....

if i saw this in the theater people would be looking at me funny thinking i was crazy for laughing at these flight sequences...since it wasnt the jokes i was laughing at...

edit, one more observation....it was funny the 30mm rounds the Germans were shooting didnt explode anything....but every other bullet fired by the red tails squadron seemed to ALWAYS end with an explosion....i mean this is really the one thing i came away from the movie with....why after every shot fired by the red tails was an explosion...i mean this movie was so unoriginal at best, it was an american version of dark blue world (that foreign language film ,for me anyways)....

LOL

This looks like it will be just as bad (if not worse) than that Pearl Harbour rubbish.

Hammer down!

sorak 05-12-2012 05:53 AM

As with all action block buster movies.. it is never made to be like real life.. What exactly is the surprise about all the explosions. What did you expect? a movie called Red tails to be a spot on war reenactment.

i dont expect much of anything from Tv or Movies...in my opinion its all garbage...i might watch 5 hours of tv a week maybe...i certainly dont go to the movie theater...the last time i went was only cuz some idiot got me gift certificate to some movie theater...

but its still comical and worthy of laughter...i guess to add to your point, since its not a reenactment why not give the p51s under wing laser cannons...i mean it wont take anything away from the movie right?

drewpee 05-12-2012 06:18 AM

If and when we get a P51 in this game I want what ever rounds that P51 was firing at the war ship at the end of the clip.

I could say I didn't expect it to be Starwars: Attack of Tuskegee, but it would be a lie given Lucas put a hand on it. :) Even if you ignore technical/historical incorrectness, it is just a terrible movie, in which characters look like they are reading a script in front of them.

VO101_Tom 05-12-2012 08:01 AM

this sh*t stolen two hours of my life.
At first, I stopped after 20 minutes (when they attacked the airport), but my friend said, Be strong, look continue to the end, there are more stupidity are also ... He was right.

U505 05-12-2012 08:28 AM

Don't forget that your are looking an american film !!! The purpose of these films are to show the superiority of them above all the entire world even if they have to lie or transformate the reality.

Don't blame all of us for the crimes of a few... :D

But rather than tell Hveding we don't like his film let's suggest some better ones.

Battle of Britain
Catch-22 (You should read the book, but the film is.... different)

BH_woodstock 05-12-2012 12:34 PM

i stated this in another post about "RedTails"
it looked like same fake stuff as in "Iron Eagle"

PotNoodles 05-12-2012 01:06 PM

Movie was biggest pile crap I have seen for a long time, it had a silly rushed ending and needed match sticks to keep my eyes open.

Jatta Raso 05-12-2012 01:23 PM

serious candidate to worst pile of sh#t i've seen (and i've seen some pretty bad movies); i'm gonna quote someone here to state how bad red tails is:

"Crapper then a piece of crap sitting on a pile of crap and covered by a blanket made of crap, situated on a crap piece of land owned by John De Crapper."

addman 05-12-2012 01:43 PM

I'm still recovering after a friend took me to see Pearl Harbor all those years ago so thanks but no thanks.:) Saving my money for "Prometheus" and "Batman: Dark Knight Rising" thank you very much.

I've actually seen that movie, very interesting insight about how the kamikaze operations were prepared and executed. No gung-ho jump in a plane and scream BANZAI!!! on a whim type of thing, more cultural than anything. So much mental preparation and accepting death, very deep stuff, very Japanese. I recommend watching it, with subtitles of your choice of course.:)

P.S However terrible the war was you really start to respect the honor and courage shown by the Japanese airmen after watching this movie. A waste most westerners would think but for the Japanese airmen no greater honor could be achieved then dying for their Emperor and country.

41Sqn_Stormcrow 05-12-2012 02:19 PM

actually dark blue world was quite a decent movie. A bit melodramatic at some time but not that bad.

Good ww2 air combat movies (list not in order of preference):

Battle of Britain
The Tuskegee Airmen (Die Ehre zu Fliegen in German), a real good movie about the red tails.
Memphis Belle

There is an old German movies from the 50s or 60s about Marseille (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Stern_von_Afrika). I haven't watched it.

vanelle 05-12-2012 04:37 PM

I didn't like red tails to much talking and didn't like the characters (way of acting) on the other side flyboys and fortress where good.

But yeah for some decent fighter action ill just play my own movie :-P.

Tell that to the winers who paid as much (a ticket for a movie) for their CloD install. :-P

Just watching the intro makes me puke though. Reminds me of war propaganda, just without any reason of existence - or maybe the makers didn't get the news that the war is over.
