I have bought this game with bugs and don't work on my PC. we wait à Patch and don't come. It's for that I demand the procédure for paid off. How To be paid off.

However, he does have a fair point about something that doesn't work.

If you bought a car and it didn't run would you say 'oh well, a mechanic 'might' be able to fix it so I won't take it back', then wait for a year in hope?

This is very true, however I would go through that process 'before' deciding to go on a forum and shout about it.

failure to read technical requirements and meet them does not equate to a faulty product.

bugged it may be, but there's plenty who have it working on their machines, to a greater or lesser (in my case) extent.

we're not buying a car, we're buying a product that will be patched, have content added and improved.

That's your personal preference though and you are very unique in that regard.

Here in Germany e.g. we have something called "Beweislastumkehr" which means that after half a year of product use the customer HAS to prove that the product is faulty.
Before that it is assumed that the product is new and doesn't work as advertised and in the case of the customer complaining it is the company that has to prove that the product is not faulty.

Waiting for a year is totally useless and a big waste of time. It might mean that you don't get anything fixed and potentially have to live with a broken car or pay for the repairs yourself. I'd never ever wait for a car company to fix my car anyways, my life depends on it daily.

The European Court of Justice recently also made some interesting judgements were selling of used software e.g. is allowed and there are perspectives on the horizon like software guarantees. I'd love to see regular guarantees in software as some developers and publishers behave like donkeys and sell broken useless stuff.

And trust me... CloD is NOT the worst game I've played. From the "trash pile" it sit's still on the top. I've had nighmarishly broken games already. So yeah, this needs to be changed.

In case you've forgotten about it: the requirements on CloD were false. No one was (and probably will) be able to play CloD with the minimum requirements they printed on the box or published on digital distribution sites.

So...how many people have genuinely even attempted to get their money back?

Is there anyone out there than has the minimum system specs & can run the game OK? Anyone with minimum specs that cannot run the game?

Were false? I would have said unrealistic at release. It did work but at very low levels of graphics and effects.

But what about now? The sims perfomance increased to reasonable levels after the last couple of patches.

What is the OP system specs?

When the original Il2 was released, it was unplayable on the system that I had at the time. It was so bad it wasn't until Pacific Figters was released that I revisited the series and realised what I had been missing. Even given it's shaky start the original IL2 turned into one of the best combat flight sims.

I think COD will soon be taking it's place.

Hello, I think that Eddie is French like me, we are as all the other disappointed countries of turning that that takes.
The play is not fixed we cannot invest us for continuation (BOM).
I speak in the name of the community about the French players.

after all you only care about the welfare of all the innocent customers right? absolutely nothing to do with bloating the forums with malicious tripe.

You're probably right. I don't think anyone has actually tried.
This is really about venting, rather than any serious attempt to report faulty goods and/ or recover funds.

If people really wanted refunds, they should approach the various organisations in their countries that are set up to look after consumer interests.

My C2D E6600 and 8800GTS certainly was able to play it, didn't even need to have it on minimum settings.

There is a lot of posturing and show off, but eventually cod/bom is the only option when it comes to wwii flight sim, also real costs are elsewhere, utility bills, rent, gas and so forth.
In fact this kind of games offers the best replay value on the market so don't tell us the price is the problem.

This is a good point. It would be useful to have all the info and processes needed and gathered in one place. Perhaps it could be done on a country-by-country basis, or even continent-by-continent?

I don't know, I think it is starting to happen already. The recent mis-fire over the old patch has only served to highlight the need for rapprochement and camaraderie, and things seem to be improving. The moaners are starting to fall away - or at least disappear - one by one.

Unrealistic = false. System requirements should reflect the requirements necessary to play the game and at that they failed.

That hasn't change much (yet). Thus I said it maybe never will.

IL-2 was different. A different age even. And monitors with resolutions from back in these days don't exist anymore. You'll have a very hard time finding anyone with anything less than 1680 on a desktop computer. On top of that no one has a CRT anymore and with flat screens you can't use a different resolution. Well, you can but it looks like crap mostly.
The tools to test and make games have evolved also. And let's not forget the lessons learned while making the games of the past (IL-2 comes to mind as an excellent game of it's genre). There are even services to test hardware compatibility and to find out what exact system requirements are appropriate.

I agree with you though. CoD is the future and it's a great game - I only wanted to remind the poster I quoted that the system requirements have nothing to do with the games performance. The game runs poor even on cards way better then the requirements and most likely will even after the patch since the patch will scale much better on high end system than it will on low end machines.

Yes it was playable even on lower systems at reasonably reduced resolution or in Windowed mode. Incredible for such a monster sim with all the details modelled IMO.

if you're willing to adjust settings it will run. people expect to run it maxed out on recommended machines. this wasn't even really possible with 1946, going off the back off that box.

I didn't have a machine good enough to run IL2FB max settings (with AA/AF) till maybe 3 or 4 years ago, and that would be 8 years after the game came out...

I have a i7 2600k@4.4GHz and GTX570 2.5gb, and i can't run CloD on max settings @ 1920x1080 anyway... but the game is totally playable with 30+ fps all i really need to do is turn grass off and buildings down one or two notches...

It will run, but will it blend? :D

Simply being able to start the game and load a mission doesn't equal "it will run".
System requirements are actually meant to represenet the necessary hard- / software to run the full game with all it's features and under all conditions (e.g. multiplayer with max players per server, all single player missions etc.) just with reduced graphical details within reasonable limits.
It's not a value representing the necessary specs to see the main menu or sit on the ground lagging around with 1-15fps.

A good example were the ice levels in crysis (which tore most computers apart).




Maybe some people are able to run the game like that. But frankly I had problems on PC's with much higher specs...
I really doubt that CloD will ever play reasonably within the limits of the system requirements printed on the box.


But then again. Until the new beta patch is out there's probably a ton of issues that could be responsible for the problems the OP has/had - aside from sys reqs and hardware issues. :-P

I got this in a sale for just £5 and I'm more than happy with the purchase :)

What's going on here? I see all sorts of new people with low post counts show up. They all complain in atrocious English. They all feel ripped off and want their money back. Maybe the moderators should be a bit less enthousiastic banning old timers. They seem to respawn with new accounts and a 100 point IQ drop.
