Luthier, many of us are obviously disappointed that the patch will not be available this week. It would be great to hear from to get an understanding on what went wrong with the graphics engine and when it might be fixed. We fully understand that things can change just as they did this week but a word from you would go a long way in lifting our spirits and calming the waters.

More detail only means more detailed whinning!

That is to say, giving us more detail will not fix the problem any sooner!

Mater of fact it could delay it due to the devs taking time out to fully described to us the bug they found.. and are in the process of fixxing.

Worst yet, more detail gives the 'professional' whiners here more opportunities to 'spin' what the devs said, such that the 'professional' whiners can than call the devs liars when something does not pan out 'exactly' the way the devs said/hoped it would.

All I see are armchair observers (each with different opinions). One might call yourself a 'professional' whiner where Il-2 FM debates are concerned (for instance the great UP vs HSFX 'issues').

Each person is different. Some enjoy the team to explain everything to them in order to prevent their own accusations of mismanagement, others are happy to take the team's word as gold. Each to their own I guess.

At this stage I agree, another update would be entirely pointless. Knowing the issue won't fix the issue. But it would, conversely, cut down the 'can we have an update' topics.

Incidentally, David may suggest it will stop a 'complainathon', but in reality complains left in isolation are merely a series of postings. The real trouble happens when the trolls step in, as was shown yesterday.

Of course a degree of commonsense applies. They can't give a de facto explanation of what they cannot yet resolve, and it's likely to be intricate, low-level, and go whzzing over the heads of the vast majority here.

But the underlying points about communication (and therefore trust) and a degree of earnestness is a good one.

With any other game and with any other launch you might think this request was laughable and/or fatuous.

But not with this one, especially a year on.

They still have a huge, huge amount of ground/sky to make up.

And stop trying to get Tree et al into trouble. It smacks of nothing more than the playground, as has been able demonstrated by other posts gone haywire.

Yep, i dared to ask BS if we could have some more information on the graphics failure, and i got 10 infraction points for Unacceptable behavior and apparently i was lucky not to get a ban! Not for trolling though david, unaccepatable behavior. Your in the clear though david, apparently and I got this from the Mod concerned, not one person as complained about you. So well done, it says alot about how much you are liked and how honest our mods are.

I've suggested to the mods they incorporate some thing into the Infraction system that deals with these constant fishing expeditions for arguments an dgetting others into trouble. Specifically to deal with posts like Hayward's and Aces et al.

If they want to play that tedious game, then it needs (tediously) dealing with... :-)

Well I have it in black and white, you see when you get an Infraction you get a reason why and a link to your post. Obviously you have never had one because you are such a valued forum member. If I had called the dev's liars i would of been banned end of. But i thank you for agreeing that asking a simple question does not deserve 10 infraction points, perhaps you could ask the mods to remove those points as like me you feel them to be completely unjustified. You could always simply ask the mod responsible which post he gave the infraction for, then you can apologise to me like the nice man you are. Then like you agreed earlier you can start a campaign to get those infraction points removed because like you have already stated I should not have got those infractions for asking a simple question. Ace, you're doing nothing more than trying to provoke Tree into a response that the mods would want to take action against.

Unless your English comprehension skills are below par, you would understand that Tree's post that you keep quoting referred to the request for more detailed explanation, not the information supplied by the devs on the whole. As such, he called no-one a liar.

I doubt very much there's anything wrong with your comprehesnion skills, so have to ask why you seem hellbent on provoking Tree into a response that will likely get him banned?

For the simple reason that Aces and Hayward always do this. For the sheer enjoyment of it.

It is a game that seems more important to them than the actual game at hand.

There has never been any substance behind it, and never will.

Further, they probably assume, correctly, that they enjoy a certain amount of leeway under the 'pro-Clod' umbrella.

Hence the various reponses.

I don't condone calling them liars at all. You're being the child, in this instance, in suggesting that I do, or have called them such a thing.

The allusion that information was being withheld was only divulged when the argument got heated, instigated by careful and malicious trolling.

Unfortunately Tree UK is a stranger to the truth.
