For offline flyers (like me!)
Heinkills huge Operation Sealion project has been now completed. It is flown from either LW or RAF point view. I am flying from LW PoV...sorry Tommies?!
I am enjoying the briefings as much as the missions - real sense of history being remade - I like seeing Churchill squirm...sorry again. There are all possible mission types - intercepts, combat patrols, ground attacks, escorts, supply, level bombing, dive bombing, shipping attacks, takeoffs and landings, trainings, night flying, race against the clock, anti tank, anti train, it seems endless! And level of detail is CRAZY. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post3551718 I have copied his screenshots post: In-game screenies All key landmarks, targets and installations have been rebuilt and populated with appropriate objects. Ports, cities, and airfields on both sides of the Channel. Calais with invasion barges. Simply astonishing!
Well done mate! |

EDIT. Oops, never mind, I missed addman's post. |
Does anyone know how tos keep some of the Map mods in these missions into the standard map? Like I want to keep the build of Folkestone port, with wharves etc, which is completely missing on the 1C map. Also the objects at the airfields Manston, Hawkinge, Lympne, Calais, Le Havre, Peuplinge, I want to keep those, and the shipping at Calais. And Canterbury Cathedral even though it seems it is Winchester at least it puts a Cathedral in the right place at Canterbury which the 1C map does not.
Is there a way? |
Also, HK, if you see this thread (I have also posted at SIMHQ) can you pls post copies of any object groups you have saved, like ships, airfields, flak, camps etc these would be very useful.
PS |
Thanks so much for the link I did find it after reading it all again, downloaded it and will be flying later today...looks awesome!
|
Well I'm about 8 or 9 missions into the Luftwaffe campaign and its fantastic! Honestly more fun than the one that comes with the game. Very well done and it is much appreciated.
|
Really really awesome!
I have just finished 11 Luftwaffe missions and I can't get enough. :) |
frigging A W E S O M E!!!!
Thanks very much for all your work and for all the screenshots! All your screenshots, you should post them in this thread, too: CoD screenshots(merged) http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28953 ~S~ |
Wow very nice, I will definitely grab this , much appreciated!

Just finished the last mission in the LW Seelowe campaign.
Oh my... How not to do spoiler here? But... Seriously. It made believable that Germany could have actually achieved something with an invasion... maybe it wasn't just a decoy after all? Good plot twists! PS |
Having completed the paltry stock missions, I've been away from CoD for a while but was enticed back by the screenshots and campaign descriptions in this thread. And once again I'm bowled over by how amazing this sim is and again left puzzled that the developers are relying on talented amateur enthusiasts to exploit its full potential. Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in this project. I hope that there's much more to come.

I am so going to play this after the patch arrives, and MG really should include it in a forthcoming patch for everyone and give Heinkill something nice in return!
/mazex |
Luthier and Co really need to consider whether they want someone like "Heinkill" to work on payroll to create content for the sim.
This far exceeds anything shipped with the game. Ps. I use these missions for coop with Banks_coop script, Brilliant stuff. |
Wow this looks amazing, well done sir! Asset to the community. How are fps with all the extra objects?
|
Quote:
The amount of objects stayed fairly consistent from what I could tell so if changes are necessary you should only need to do it once |

If you 'look under the hood' using FMB you can see land battles scattered over the front, independent of air action but adding to immersion. You could delete these and win some fps I suppose? But so cool after a dogfight to see smoke rising on the horizon, fly over to check it out, see some Brit emplacement under attack by Panzers or flak trucks, or maybe it was hit by 110s, you strafe it, and head home. You think you are safe and some Hurricanes jump you or Wellingtons hit as you land! So much going on...i loved it. Maybe even I will fly the Raf campaign... Tho it would hurt! PS |

Edit: also, from what I could tell, the RAF campaign is the same as Luftwaffe except for the last 5 or 6 missions - aside from the fact that you're on the other side of the engagement, of course. |
Man I was trying to hold off for the big patch prior to starting this , but I keep reading reports like this and I just don't think I am going to be able to hold out much longer.
Sounds very exciting! |

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post3553441 Circuses and Rhubarbs? (wot is a rubarb btw?) I don't care because I will get to fly JG 26 :) and if it is like his Sealion stuff it will be Uber well researched. Now if he included some Capt Farrell skins, that would be awesome. PS |

a rhubarb was a type of low level attack on targets of opportunity by small groups of fighters (often just a pair) using cloud cover.

And with the new patch even awesomer....
|
For info I found a bug in the RAF campaign in mission 19. The default aircraft is a LW aircraft, not an RAF aircraft. You can choose any of the raf aircrafts in the CUSTOM menu but shouldnt have to, it should be RAF in the default. I have reported it, but just thought I would warn until it is fixed.

Thanks... ;) |
If you are finished playing with the patch... maybe and want to start playing with the game?
I have moved on to 1941--- More offline mission joy from Heiny http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post3572239 |

mission 2 starts at st omer in my 109, I'm going through my startup, looking at my instruments, looking around my machine, about to taxi...wait...there is a bloody fuel convoy going across the end of the landing strip! If I would have taken off without looking carefully I would have turned into a toasted corpse! also, the 1941 scenario I like, as a LW flyer, because instead of having to spend all my time watching my fuel gauge as well as watching the sky, this time it is the Tommies who have to worry about swimming home! :/P |
