Let's talk about pilot customisation

Does anyone else do this? I find it a really nice touch in the game, maybe more stuff will be added in the future.
For italian pilots theres not much choice.. I thought they would be more fashion consious!

I did not mess with that yet, can you add/change to any face that you want, even your own.

No, only two different faces for Luftwaffe/RAF pilots and only one for Regia Aeronautica flyers. Yes, the poor Italian pilot doesn't have a lot to choose from and he doesn't have a speech pack either, speaks fluent German though.

Good luck ordering a pizza with no anchovies! :-P

Of course this should be low priority, but I hope that some day there are plenty of possible customizations for the pilots. As you say, it adds a nice touch to the game.

Played around with it a bit when making video's. Couldn't find a way to remove the earphones and just have a bare-headed character. Made me think about making a video with some modern day dude in a generic looking flight-suit bopping along to music on his headphones while he flies and maintains an old Tiger Moth or something...Maybe there'll be a way for modders to customize things a bit more when the SDK comes out.

It was nice to be able to do it in 1946.

Notice the color coordinated gloves, flight cap, harness and boots. Also the T2k on the lapels.

Given that I never see the pilot, and others don't get close enough to make out the details...

No.

As long as we've got a optional cigar, pipe or pilot reading a map, I doubt we'ld need much else.

As i read in the manual, this will be updated. So later on you can see your rank etc.

I quite like that option, I just wish there were more options for italian pilots, I doubt they would be flying a G.50 with a peaked cap :-P

Maybe Hitler's panzer cap would do...
