MP suggestion for SOW
Just a quick thought coming from long time bomber pilot in IL2.
Whenever there is something like organised bombing run on DF servers, everyone on the other side take fighters emediately. I believe this comes from most likely being able to see who is flying what when you press ('S' for me, not sure this key is default in IL2). My suggestion would be that when you press a key which brings up a list of pilots and planes they fly - you can only view who is piloting which plane on your team and only list of pilots for the other team - not their planes. This off course applies for full real servers with cockpit allways on, so it could be even a server based difficulty option bacause it has no purpose on servers with externals enabled. Thanks for reading, Thor |
Blood gore
I personally think that the Blood gore in the cockpit should be added if u are hit dead/wounded...EAW had this and i missed it in IL2.
Bring it on like an option in the configuration for thoose who wan't it. ;) |

Original IL2 had this. But I'm talking about option which would add another level of imersion to already great game. Not cosmetic effects. |

I'm with your suggestion T.}{.O.R., I can see the point... and "hynkel" a "blood and splatter" add-on could add something to game play... It would let you know when you've hit the pilot. I wonder if this is the kind of thing someone could make a mod with, with the (limited) tools Oleg is giving us? |
* bump *
Top idea THOR. There's alot of simple things Oleg could do to make the future game more immersive, and your idea is one. PS:: You don't need a "list" to see the "fighter" pilots, just see who is asking for Gore on the forums.:grin: |
This has been needed for a long time. Flying bombers is hard enough without the other side getting 100% reliable intelligence on the aircraft types they are up against.
Of course the less honorable squads will simply use a log parser, and not only know your aircraft type, but also your exact position on the map. |

Nothing worse than knowing the enemy make-up with super server radar! Kills realism setting instantly. Also while we are at it, kills being given twenty minutes later when a plane crashes or botches a landing. Even on high realism settings this happens. Lets hope probables kills etc will be incorporated into the game. |

Well, that's a bit tricky to do, but I too hope that we will have some kind of shared kill crediting in SoW. |
The OT suggestion is very nice me thinks!!!
I'd also like to see some ability to get shared kills, might make some people less likely to steal kills... |
My suggestion would be a MMO type central server (monthly payable if necessary), where we could log hours of flight etc... like Airforce War but more detailed and with more strategy implications on the whole front.
oh, Hello all!. |

All good suggestions here. |
Very good suggestions!
I'd like to see a good ingame communication for online-playing. It would aid teamplay a lot, if people don't have to join TS. The ingame-comms in IL2 never worked for me. It would also add to immersion, if noises (enginesounds, guns, etc) would be transmitted, too, as well as atmospheric noise. There is a tool named TS-noise, that adds a background-noise to the Teamspeak-output and the crackling sound from the transmit button. Even better would be raising the noise-level, the further the pilot is away from you and it would also add some immersion, if your communications fail when the radio is hit. Another thing that impressed me very much in SilentHunter / DestroyerCommand: If people chat, it's handled like they use comms. Sitting in a Destroyer, you can locate and pin down these transmissions. In WW2 this was done, too, by ground units and it would be a great tactical immersion factor. Another great thing would be a communication like in BF2 or a modified version of the system to give orders to AI-pilots: Simple phrases that in combination send information with a few clicks to other pilots without having to use a mike or speaking English or whatever. With the same phrases in the same categories, they could even be translated easily to the language the player is using. And a personal wish, that has already been partially confirmed: Kill-markers ;) |
Man i can't wait for this game, i just pray its coming out in 2008 since im going for military service in 09. Will be an awsome game for sure, havn't they worked on it for quite awhile yet :P?
|
I think you might get a glimpse of it. They might have it ready by next Xmas, or that's what we hope at least
|
Hehe,
I sure hope so , it's abit sad that it's taking such along time to develop this dunno why but looks like the devs are going into amazing detail and accurecy :D. Im confident it will be a blast when released however lets just not hope that'll be more than a year away. |
