why not statistics points for ground attack??

I really have to say is so unfair that one ground attack pilot ( ju-87, he-111 etc... ) trying bombing the enemy airfield, radars, armors etc... and when check the mission, not statistics points. So funny!! Not all people like kill bf-109 and spitfires. I hope thats one of the long bugs lists to fix for the next patch. other way I throw away this game and wait for " World of WarPlanes "

I'm sure there will eventually be statistical points. Again COD was released unfinished so the developers still have alot to finish up. I'm sure World of WarPlanes will be a stats fest, but time will tell if it has enough realistic options to lure the IL-2 community. Wings of Prey came close, but came up short, maybe WarThunder, World of WarPlanes will be different.

Whats the point in having points when you have no awards for points , no medals , no promotions , no career.

If you are talking about online play then you can see your ground kill stats on some servers:

http://216.52.148.29:2012/ATAGStats/ATAGStatsV1.html

ICU_DIE535 03-09-2012 05:11 AM

Try out the ATAG servers Axis and Allies. I don't have comms or a fancy computer, hell I got 4G Verizon for Internet and I have a blast bombing ships and AAA and British supply depots/armories with the Bf110. Sure some times I come home with one engine or a watery grave but I also vulture\Dogfight some Blenheims that are warming up on the ground at Littlestone great fun.
Then when I'm done I visit the stats page at ATAG webpage and then gather my stats and save to an excel spread sheet to keep track of my air and ground kills. AAA\Artillery and ships are counted in stats but I have hit tanks and not gotten an armour kill yet, maybe I should hit them harder.

Until we get a career with medals and some sort of stats this has to be good enough.

The point is, that you are able to see, that you actually hit something. If you get medals and so on, is not relevant. But others may chech out their statistics on a websites, they would also be nice if you can see that it has destroyed targets on the ground. After all, what it ultimately is about. Meet its objects - destroy radiotower / Headquarters / ships
in coordinate XXYY. Yeah I know a lot, there are in just as a fighter jockey and go for dogfight. But thats simply to smaal a road for me, so I like planing my ingress and egress, route and stuff, so I think its fair to all bomber jokeys to gain some cind of points for the job they do.

Strangely enough one of the things I wanted in CoD was the ability to either turn points off, or not have them at all!
As a pretty much dedicated bomber pilot if I can get to a target, bomb it, and get home again then that is success enough for me!

True. But then it should be none point for all typer of flights - allso airkills. I would go for that - no problem here ;)

Stats are a measure of progress and performance. Some people go so far as to live an die by them, encouraging some quite childish antics on-line just to get points, but most of us just want to know how we are doing. It adds something to the 'purpose' of CoD to see our stats alongside others as you can on some server websites. Also, there's a certain pride in trying to be top squad (after all the effort of training and working together) or in the top x of y players - which I usually am not :( .

Medals and Careers seem to be most appropriate for single player off-line play which is more focussed on specific limited objectives rather than the unpredictable nature of on-line missions and combat contacts.

Ground kill stats should be available and it would be good if ground-attack deaths could be recorded separately from air-combat deaths to get separate K/Ds but I'm not sure how that would be done - perhaps by target-damage identification.

julien673 03-09-2012 09:59 AM

You need to know what you destroyed... Bomb run at 5000m ... whit flak and fighter, no time for looking where or what we hit. Same for the fighter, shoot 4 aircraft but only 1 down... need to know ;)

Do it how they did it in WW2, after the bombing mission take another plane and do a high speed reconaissance run over the target ;)

pepin1234 03-09-2012 10:12 AM

All right!! The point is that I dont like became a fighter. I am ground attack pilot even in Lockon too. With the people of ED we have not that problem. Is disappointing see how the fighters can see their improvements in combat and the ground attack forces ( we would se the next playable forces :-? ) have nothing to see about that point. So that is like: " 1Cp just care about the fighters ". They are in the wrong way.

Good suggestion...we know what happens when some people get fixated on their total score number.

hc_wolf 03-09-2012 12:00 PM

What are you talking about. Did you not go to school and study WW2 history. Every ground target was assigned points and that's how WW2 was decided.

English won 54,000,001 points to German 47,000,323

So we should have some point system in COD ;)

 hee hee, have to agree with all or nothing, either the points for fighters and bombers should be given or nothing... Server set :D

ATAG_MajorBorris 03-14-2012 09:44 AM

Bomber stats!

Firstly I have to thank Watchman and Collander for working so hard on the stats on the ATAG server, good job guys!

http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/content.php.

I think bomber pilots get the short end somtimes. Think of the machineguns that dont shoot when you man the gunners or bombsites that dont compute corectly, how long would any of the fighters have been in the sim with broken/intermittent guns or sites that aimed short? The forums would be filled with people going nuts!....err more nuts lol. Luckily the bombers are realy cool in the sim and will rock when all the final touches are added.

As far as the points go, it was in the old il2 and I expect its meant to be in CoD one way or another the caveat being that they changed the scoring system to a fighter centric score, old il2 had points for planes and ground targets that changed depending on if you lived or not and CoD has fighter "Kills" no matter how good you are rewarding a more arcade aproach to the sim.

(Static objects, planes buildings etc that effect the score/mission outcome would be enjoyed by many as well).

Heck, its a competetive hobby and who doesnt like to see how there effort compares to the other talented pilots they fly with and against or weather or not you hit a bullseye or just missed.

In real war they tally everything;)

JG52Uther 03-14-2012 09:57 AM

If I make it home alive thats all the points I need! ;)

I think my ground crew would beg to differ :)

Allons! 03-16-2012 06:27 AM

Hi all,

i think ground target statistics is a must to have the Bomber and Zerstörer units something to measure their skills and dedication/engagement. Also for ranking, medals and all this stuff you need something to calculate with.

Greetz, Allons!

Attila 03-16-2012 07:19 PM

best stats on kv13 server! Like the stats on spit vs 109 server in old IL2 1946!
