Losing Engine Sounds

I have un-installed and re-install IL2 1946 more than 5 time in the last 5 days trying to isolate a sound problem. The problem is that every time I start / stop IL-2 and select a aircraft from arming when I start the a/c I may or may not have engine sound. Sometimes I'll have engine but it will come and go. Most of the times I lose the sound when the engine is between 1500-2700 rpm but sometimes I'll lose it between 500-1500 and it may come back in at 2000 or 2700. I have 4.091bm and .93 sound mod installed. I'm using a unified mod installer created by the 352ndvfg. No on else who has used the installer has had this problem. I'm attaching a pdf to show the error reported by 7 zip(rar) when extracting the file parts to my IL-2 Dir. Some time I can restart the game all the sound are all OK but not every time, thats the funny part is that it comes and goes at difference rpm ranges. Also 352ndvfg is using the latest mods is there unified installer. My system specs. are

Well... This forum is for another game, XIII Century. The IL2 forum is here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?f=98

pgreenbe 04-10-2008 09:37 PM

Actually, I have two problems. I have a Quad Core Intel CPU and Windows Vista Home Premium. Graphics card is an 8800GT with 512mb. For some reason, while the external Configurator loads into memory it doesn't launch. Additionally, when I get into the game to change the resolution from 1024X768 to 2560X1600, (I have a 30" monitor) I'm unable to find a way to save the changes so that when I restart the game they've taken hold. I can't see the furthest left part of the menu (though I do see the Video, Audio, Interface, etc. buttons). How can I manually change the resolutions. I presume there is an editable configuration file somewhere but I don't know where. Please let me know about either problem.

Evgeny 04-11-2008 06:34 AM

Everything should be saved? but if you change some important options, like resolution, detalisation or geometry, you need to quit the game and then launch it again. In this case everything will work fine.

pgreenbe 04-11-2008 03:22 PM

Done that

Hi Evgeny,
I've already done that and it doesn't seem to do anything but return me to the original resolution. For example, I change it to widescreen and then 2560X1600 (or whatever it is at the top), then I back out through the escape key since I can't seem to see the left side of the screen any longer until I can "Quit the Game" and then I quit and reload the game and its back to 1024X768 and I have the same problem. The resolution remains low and the left side is unseeable so I can't click to it. Not sure if there is a button that exists beyond the Video, Audio, etc. buttons because I can't see to the left of them.

Best
Paul

MARIAN 04-12-2008 12:58 PM

Start the game by the engine.exe and change the resolution. Then find profile.cfg
C:\Documents and Settings \Administrator\My Documents\XIII Century\profiles\your profile name
Open profile.cfg by means of a notebook and there you will see
section.begin
Engine : struct.begin
ScreenResolution : struct.begin
Width = 1024
Height = 768
Frequency = 100
struct.end

These options can be changed by a hand. You will choose that will approach to your
monitor. These data can disappear if to play game by the editor.

mitra 04-12-2008 04:05 PM

I have a problem with the editor; sometime placing a unit over the map, I receive a access violation at address XXXXXX, which close the editor.

MARIAN 04-12-2008 05:24 PM

Hard to say what it was. We with such did not clash

acis1986 04-15-2008 03:44 PM

In game error.

Hi there.

I just recently received XIII Century Death or Glory as a gift, and I was able to play through the first tutorial mission. Everything runs smoothly, no signs of lag/glitches etc. I did however encounter a problem whilst playing.

For no particular reason that I can see, I get an error after I give a group of troops an order to move/change stance/attack etc. The error reads;
"Access violation at address 00654b76 in module "Engine.exe". Read of address 00000008" I click OK, and I can still interact with the game (click an order and hear "Seargents!") But there is no other response. It is as though it is frozen. So I have to exit the game, and re-enter to play again... but the error still shows up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also write what kind of defence is in game (StarForce, SecuROM, etc)
It is very important !!!

thx for reply

version of game: 1.1.0
publisher of game:what do you mean?i got it from a store :http://www.papasotiriou.gr/store16.asp ( I'm from Greece ).
kind of defense is in game: StarForce i thing.

same problem, but i have a clue

Same problem, but I might have an interesting clue as to why!
first,
OS: XP Professional SP2
Processor: Intel 4300 dual @3.00Ghz
Memory: 3Ghz DDR2
Video Card name: 8800GTS 320Megs
Driver Version: 6.14.11.6921 (169.21)
Monitor: 22" Chimei
Protection: Starforce

ok here's the deal. It crashes in the English campaign, battle of Falkirk, always at the same spot.
When i aggitate the enemy Pikemen, (shooting arrows into them), it crashes. same thing as the others, Access Violation or whatever.
This is what makes it interesting.
The Pikemen are in round formation.
When I load any other save, even from the tutorials, and I order a unit into round formation.....then ask them to move.....crash.
it's as though the computer doesn't mind seeing round formations, but seeing round formations on the move? bad.
Can anyone else experiencing this problem give this a try? make a round formation...then move them. see what happens.

also, i tried turning every graphics setting to minimum and it didn;t make a difference. Please help, I am really enjoying this game so far!

Ok I found in Greece the publisher of game there is GENEGA: http://www.papasotiriou.gr/product.g...8&prid=1008366
Boys large request however to write who in your country publisher of game.

MARIAN 04-18-2008 01:30 PM

Guys try to make that that spoke matt_gold order pikemen in a circle formation to move, if game crash, then all is clear.
Within a week we shall make a patch which will solve this problem.

Gasoline 04-18-2008 01:57 PM

My game crashed aswell in the same battle, after i finished off the Scottish Cavalry and started working on their pikemen. Then i went to these forums and saw your post so i tried it out with my own pikemen and it crashed again.

MARIAN 04-18-2008 02:20 PM

All it is clear. It is our fault, adopt our apologies. Within a week there will be patch which will remove this problem.

matt_gold 04-18-2008 03:10 PM

not a question of "faults"

not a matter of who's fault, a matter of you guys doing a GREAT JOB and responding to customer's problems. it's really great to see companies do that, you should be proud, actually.
not to mention names, but alot of software companies really really don't care about customer's experiences once they have their money.

Gasoline 04-18-2008 03:37 PM

Doesn't game developers get paid anyway? the only ones that is getting money that is related to the amount of sold copies are the publishers?

sorry for going off topic

nspiliotopoulos 04-18-2008 05:10 PM

Thank you very much. The problem is solved.

pgreenbe 04-19-2008 10:31 AM

I have a new problem that is very puzzling. I'm doing the tutorial and I get to the mouse controlling the camera step. I follow the steps to zoom in and out and then to press the mouse wheel and rotate the cameras via the cursor right and left. I do all of that and yet, I can't get the instruction to complete and disappear and thus can't advance any further. There doesn't seem to be a manual way of skipping past the instruction. I presume the only way to get to the next one is an automatic trigger based on completion of the instruction. I do complete it according to what it asks. Move the mouse wheel back and forth to zoom in and out. Hold the mouse wheel down and then use the cursor to rotate right and left. But the instruction remains. Any suggestions?

Game crashes during Startup!!

Hi guys!

XIII crashes during the startup phase (about 3/4 of progress bar full).

When set to LOW, 1024x768 @ 60Hz I get this error:
AppName: engine.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: nvoglnt.dll
ModVer: 6.14.11.7474 Offset: 002491bb
Immidiate crash.

When set to HIGH, 1024x768 @ 85Hz, I get this error:
"Context Activation Failed: C0060007"
I can see the menu, but nothing is clickable, only ALT-F4 quits.

Also when first running the game, it was set to 150Hz after "autodedect"!!! which obviously disabled my Monitor with "unsupported signal"!

My system:
Monitor: 19" CRT Nokia Multigraph 446XPro (85Hz, pretty good, runs every other game!)
Mainboard: ASUS P5B
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz
CPU: Core2Duo E6600 @2,4 GHz

You can skip it, press "Y" write "Game win" and press "Enter". If you want to open all battles, you can press "Y", then to write "Open all" and press "Enter".

Hi ladies and lords!

I'm happy to report my problems solved now, and I can finally start a campaign.

The crash during startup was because of Nvidia drivers.
My GeForce 7900GT probably was incompatible to the 174.74 drivers.
Had to downgrade to 169.21.

I encountered a new problem though: My 19" CRT Monitor supports only up to 107Hz, and the screen got blank with "unsupported signal" message.
The game unfortunately chose a too high Frequency, even though I selected 85 in config...
I fixed this with a tool called "REFORCE" (RefreshForce V1.10).
The tool allowed to delete all unsupported Frequency settings from the display driver.

Maybe this info is helpful to somebody.

cheers, and godspeed! - Blood.Omen

Mouse pointer problem!

I have a problem with the mouse. The mouse doesn't sync with what it highlight on the screen. Like when I point at A, it actually point at B.

My system info:

Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1

Motherboard GA-EP35C-DS3R

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450

4094MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX

I had try run it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, it doesn't solve the problem.

Marian,

Since 18/4 it has been not one but almost 2 weeks.

I bought the game once it became available but I haven't installed it yet, since I read about the formation crash.
Could you please give me an update about the release of the hotfix or the patch (whatever you release).

thank you

No problem, because its better to have one good patch rather than 3 or 4 incompleted patches.

But, I would like to ask you if you can predict a possible date of release.

1 week, 1 month, 3 month ??

thank you,

MARIAN 05-03-2008 07:06 AM

We already do patch, then still we will conduct a test and all

I have no idea who the publisher is. I guess it's 1C Company?

My video card is 9800 GTX and driver version 7.15.0011.7474, I'll also be sending you the dxdiag file.

Please help solve this problem if you can. I'm already running the game in the same resolution as with my desktop.

EDIT: I think I found the source of the problem. Apparently, the resolution in the game won't get higher than 1280x800*59

My desktop resolution is set to 1680x1050, and the resolution in the config file is also set to 1680x1050. Lowering my desktop resolution and setting in config file to 1280x800 doesn't fix the problem. And in the game setting I'm stuck with 1280x800*59.

FIXED the problem. WOohooo! I was having the same problem with Crysis, and I was searching for a solution in crysis forum. Here is the solution for someone who's having the same problem.

Right click on desktop > Personalize > Window Color and Apperance > Open Classic appearance properties for more color options. Change from Window Aero to Window Vista Basic.

This fix the problem.

MARIAN 05-20-2008 01:37 PM

The game falls when you order to the troops in circular formation to move ?

maestrosombrita 05-21-2008 07:58 AM

No, the game falls before run. The error gives before enter in the game

MARIAN 05-21-2008 08:26 AM

Make to attempt to start the game through an editor. It is done so, you press on editor.exe-->File-->Test Map-->Esc-->Main menu
If you succeeded to start the game, then a problem can be in video driver, it follows to renew it. GeForce FX 5500: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html
Or problem is in the intro, then it is necessary to delete the all intro, it is found D:\Games\1C\XIII Century: Death or Glory\data\video

Battlefield freezes

I have a fresh version of XIII. After completing the tutorial i want to play a campaign. At the start of the campaign the battlefield freezes while the game seems to be running. What can be the problem?

MARIAN 06-05-2008 07:43 PM

Do you complete all tutorial, all 3 battles ?

Arpi 06-22-2008 10:10 AM

Earlier on this forum you wrote that a patch was worked on that would fix the pikeman in orb formation issue. Any news on it? Can you give us an estimate when it would be out? I think I am not the only one expecting this patch as the game is great otherwise.

mitra 06-22-2008 10:34 AM

You try this: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...9&postcount=63 ?

I haven't had circle formation problem from the beginning. I think it is problem. You have verified the other solutions appeared in this topic?

I don't know what I could have missed. I updated the VGA driver and that did fix some issue as the English campaign have not even started befor in the first place. But the crash still happened when the pikeman guys tried to move from orb formation. And I also did try allowing the program execution how you wrote it. However the problem continued to exist. Am I really the only one needing this patch which has been promised?

MARIAN 06-23-2008 06:19 AM

You not sole, who needs a patch.
Today we must give add-on on a test, and I think we will engage in a patch
already.

Arpi 06-23-2008 08:17 AM

I am looking forward to it. Any estimate when it will be available?

MARIAN 06-23-2008 10:13 AM

I can not say exactly.

Schnaufer 06-26-2008 02:02 AM

well, it has been 2 months now and i still cant play the game due to that pikeman formation bug
quite honestly, Im starting to lose my patience:confused:

mortuus_viscus 06-29-2008 07:41 PM

Cant play after finishing the tutorial, the screen freeze. Im using vista. Help me plz

XIII century incomplete attachment/draw buffer error

Well , hello to the team and i'm here to let u know that i've just received XIII century 2day AND everything works perfectly...apart from 1 thing, when i play the english campaign , i can see the mountains but the bottom is entirely blue,
i then press escape and try to get back to the menu BUT once loaded , i get a message saying that there's an 'incomplete attachment' and i also get 1 that says 'draw buffer'...I then click OK but other messages appear, no need to tell you that they're all saying the same thing>'draw buffer'&'incomplete'attachment'!
A complete nightmare ! In that case i just unplug and start the game again....

Though custom games work quite well, i would like to know how to deal with this...
please answer quickly , i would like to try my motherland(^^)

YEE HA!

Viking_warlord 07-09-2008 08:20 PM

well, the game crashes when i start the english, french, german and russian campaings, the screen freezes and i cant play properly and i get them'draw buffer' and the 'incomplete attachment' message if i try to go back on the main menu!
Please help me, its getting on my nerves, whats the point of buying a game if u cant play the most important part of it?

PS: The mongol campaign works good(dunno 4 the next missions but the 1st 1 works fine)

Please help me out!
Best regards & YEE HA!

Viking_warlord 07-09-2008 09:49 PM

damn, there's only the 1st mongol mission that works, otherwise it crashes in the same way as the english campaing, blue botto, mountains at the top, unt icons, i hear them but do not c them, the screen is freezed....
To make it short, the only thingd to work are...the 3 tutorial missions, the custom games and the 1st mongolian battle.......
Personnaly i think that it's as i bought a demo, real torture....
Please get me out of this(btw the version of the game is 1.1.0)!

Best regards and YEE HA!

Viking_warlord 07-09-2008 09:51 PM

Is this chanel dead?

mitra 07-10-2008 05:43 AM

No; but you must write you computer specifications to help the developer to understand.

Viking_warlord 07-10-2008 08:08 AM

lol, talking about my dxdiag file?^^here it is:)

Arpi 07-26-2008 08:25 AM

Dear developers or customer service, Is the patch expected to come out before the release of the expansion?

Viking_warlord 07-26-2008 04:33 PM

ye when is it coming?

ElPombo 07-27-2008 07:55 PM

Hi,

I ve a little problem with my archers, they seem to be running out of arrows and then taking their swords (not very good for long distance combat:grin:)

is it normal ?

Thanks

MARIAN 07-28-2008 06:14 AM

If involved even one archer from formation in hand-to-hand fight, all formation will be fight already in hand-to-hand.

ElPombo 07-28-2008 10:50 AM

ok thanks, but if i know how to change from 'bow' to 'hand to hand' i dont find the reverse command, same shortcut only works in one way

may be i m stupid but i dont understand that :(

thanks,

thanks,

as soon as archers will go out from a hand-to-hand fight, they automatically will take
bows in hands.

ElPombo 07-28-2008 07:51 PM

ok so its the problem they don t do that ,keeping their swords :(

When all warriors of formation will not be in a hand-to-hand combat, and will get back in formation, then after a 1-2 second all formation will change swords on bows.

Hrothgar 07-31-2008 03:25 PM

Hi,

I posted this last night, but it seems to have disappeared.

I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall everything. Previously, I had no problems with this game, but now something strange is happening.

In both the introductory videos to the campaign scenarios and within the battles themselves [all battles--campaign or custom], the soldiers are no longer visible. Horses, shields, weapons, etc., are still displayed, but the men themselves are invisible.

My computer specifications are:

OS: Vista Home Premium
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.21 GHz
Memory: 4094 MB
Video Card name: ATI Radeon HD 3870
Driver Version: 8.430.0.0
Monitor: Acer AL2216W

I purchased the game from Gamer's Gate.

I hope someone can help me resolve this.
