Ever seen the whole 109E DM actually fly?

This happened to a friend of mine on a server tonight. He said he couldn't see the damage, but his plane was acting weird. This is what I saw in externals.

He landed.

Wow! I've never, ever, seen that much damage myself either.

Nice pic.

That's an amazing amount of damage!

When I come to think of it: It's really seldom I have to crank the undercarriage down manually, even though I very often end up with a lot of damage.. anyone else who have noticed that?

I disagree. I think the flak connected quite well.

;)

LOL Copperhead.

Crash....

Methinks you should check the rat traps in your neighborhood. I think there was a rather large gutter rat, hungry, and all over your cheeze! Never seen such a mawled chunk of cheeze that could fly level.

Peace

How about this one? Somehow I shot off both wings at once in my 109, and he kept flying a while.

If it was AI I can believe it. I've seen AI do some silly stuff.

This was online.

If it had been cal 50, the airplane would fly no longer.
If it still flew, was a pilot with name Copperhead at the joystick, with no plan, how to hit a plane with Cal.50

Damage model, ah. Here is a tidbit of info most don't know. Try this. Load "il2setup.exe", turn off sound, click ok. Now go play the "Black Death" track. I know we all have seen this track.

Before it is over, stop the track and use views to see all the damage modeling. We all also know that the first Il2 makes it thru with no damage, with sound turned off, what do you see now?

Lo0n 02-27-2008 11:40 AM

could you post a screenie please billy?

Billy885 02-28-2008 05:17 AM

LoOn, I was wrong on one point and that was, that some damage modeling shows up before the track ends with sound turned on. Up to about 1:46 in the track the lead plane shows no damage with sound on. Now with sound off, it is a different story. I will try to post the screen shots here for you.

very strange...

Billy885 02-29-2008 10:43 PM

I am sure it was a trade off for Oleg, to keep the game playable. I just hope it is addressed in his BOB release. The point here is that because of cpu speed not all see the same damage model. Like pointed out ealier, the pilot could not be some other flyers did.
