Gogamer release date
So... Gogamer has a SOW-BOB release date of Dec/1/2008. Sounds good to me, great for the Christmas rush. Oleg can we get your input?
|
Im no developer but this date seems much more reasonable then others I have seen but only Oleg can answer. My guess is he wont though and I cant really blame him since people will go nuts if its delayed and I think that lesson was learned long ago.
S! |
This date may be more reasonable but this is like the 50th date they've posted, they are guessing as much as we are.

GoGamer.com changed SOW:BOB's release date again!

GoGamer (and others) simply want to get their hands on working capital. You pay for the product...which you will not get. They promise you will get the product as soon as it becomes available (and I quote from their Site). They use your money for the next month or 6 months, or two friggin' years. It's a sucker deal for the very stupid customer who falls for it.

That date looks good to me...I was betting on this summer...I lost

And bhunter2112, I want you to stay .... but I thought you weren't gonna let the screen door hit ya where the good lord split ya. ;) |
Based on what I'd been hearing lately, I thought Dec 09 was more believable?
Please, prove me wrong. |
Why are we doing this and all similar discussions?
Hasn't Oleg already explained that we won't be seeing the game before August '09 and that's the best bet for now? BTW, with the world economy crisis just starting (I wouldn't believe those telling us that things will get better soon), don't be surprised seeing this and other projects being canceled, postponed to unforeseen future or not being successful at all. Don't forget that not many people will be able to afford buying the kind of pc that SoW will need. |
I really can’t see what development of BoB (which is in late phase) has to do with so called “world economy crisis”? Also I think that most people would be positively surprised on hardware specifications needed for BoB. Don’t imagine space ships and dragons, BoB will be very playable on average computer.

Oleg is saying late summer 2009 "if everything goes well" and will release system specs in May 2009. I am amazed that it will be released this soon, seeing as how much we are lead to believe needs to be done yet and based on how long it has taken so far. This is such a complex program and so much is going into it.
Perhaps Oleg and team are at the stage of development where things are moving along faster than before. |
System spec was to be available to us this past summer.
Oleg 11-30-2007 "Yes... better to wait with upgrade of PC if the BoB is the main in your mind. I still don't know midlle and lowest hardware that to run BoB smooth. Will know finally in spring or even more close to summer". I quess the game is so complex, that the information for spec is pushed ahead a whole year. Nothing to do for this, but wait and see:) |
*googles 'us summer month'*
8 months... hmmm... plus two weeks... Christmas 2010... aaah, nuts. |
Go-Gamer should know better. Indeed they do know better when it comes to a realistic release date for SoW. That Jason fellow spends enough time on the various Il-2 forums to be privvy to the updates. But they consistently give it an "almost here" date on their website. Currently it is listed as Jan 7, 2009. Not very smart. Not very honest either.
|
If I remember right, not long ago they had it set for Fall 2009. Then they moved it up a few days ago to Jan 2009.
|
To be fair to Jason, is he the one that posts the 'expected' dates of releases on the website? With his own games developement company, how much does he even do at GoGamer anymore?

Should be illegal for a company to take peoples money for a game, and stating a forever changing release date.
Some people pre ordered SoW in 2006! Shameful. |
Quote:
I pre-ordered Doom III for $79(AUS) from EBGames, come release date they wanted $90(AUS). "Oh no you don't" I said to the pimple faced manager. "I entered into an agreed price with you when pre-ordering this game, no where does it state on my reciept that the price may change." Check with you local consumer law centre about your rights re this issue. You may be surprised. |
