WWII Radio Plugin options poll
I think Colander's WWII Radio Plugin should:
1.- Have the outgoing option disabled. It should only work for the incoming transmissions. 2.- Work only on a specific TS3 channel (named bellow) 3.- Left as it is. I think is great. 4.- Not used by anyone. It bothers me/I can't understand when people talks. 5.- Other. See my post. |
It was cool for the first 10 minutes or so, but after a while hearing the whistling and crackling just ended up getting on my nerves.
It should be disabled for the outgoing transmissions, so only the people who choose to install the mod get the effect. Forcing purposely-bad sound quality on everyone is rather selfish, and doesn't impact the mod user's experience in any way. |
Can't get it to work.
My original TS3 client was 32 bit. When I reinstalled TS3 64 bit and upgraded to the latest version, the plugin is still red'd out and says failed to open. Program must still think its 32 bit. I tried full uninstall and deleated everything I could find including all my book marks etc from the user file but same thing... I also agree with Doggles. |
What is Colander's Radio plugin?
|
I think it's neat for movie making or some artistic form of immersion but as far as actual online cooperative gameplay leave the thing off. Please for all that is holy leave it off.

Agree with Doggles.

I really don't like it ,with 10 or 12 guys on ts, its just to over powering.on some it don't sound to bad ,on others, way over the top. I've tried adjusting my volume , but then can't hear others,. I see that it stayed keyed up way to long before an after speaking . By all means use it ,Holy cow, whiski i didn't realize i could adjust volume for each player!!!but now i know!!! thanks , an it really is a nice add on ,SALUTE
|
I thought it was quite a good mod when I first heard it as it lifted the treble response and the voice cut through the game sounds making them more audible as well as realistic.
It was pretty clear that some players didn't like the effect and I removed the mod rather than inflict it upon them. It doesn't bother me if a player chooses to use it - it's up to them and their choice. |
I like it, but to force others to hear it is not fair....disable out going should be an option to be fair to all, while still giving yourself the enjoyment of the sound and immersion.
If you find it is over powering, but still want to use it, rather than adjust volume for everyone, right click on the persons name and adjust volume for that person only...I have done this for most people on ATAG ts to the point were it is perfect for everyone, even if they do use the WWII plugin. Everyone's sound is transmitted differently, either by their hardware or just the connection....individual adjustment for each user ensures proper volume (on your speakers/headset) for all transmitting. Cheers! Whiskey |
This is probably a different thread: but I would sure like some Comm's discipline.
Several times 5 or 6 guys were trading recipes for Chinese chicken while some poor bloke was getting his arse waxed off over France. Trust me I wanna joke and have fun, but lord !!!! Denis/Knuckles |
and to join the poll. I downloaded the plugin, but have decided not to use it.
Maybee on special campaigns where everyone uses it would be cool I'm pretty sure in real life, if pilots could have the option to use "team speak" as clear as it is, they would have Denis/Knuckles |
It's too noisy
|
I like it and will continue to use it unless is forbidden.
Pilots should reconfigure the sound settings after applying the effect (e.g. reducing the output volume). I never had any issue with it, the problems IMHO are concerned with bad/wrong sound configurations on the TS software or bad microphones in the first place. Regards. |

It was probably my mate that was being waxed (ATAG server?). We moved channel and to be fair the other guys did apologise but we've decided to avoid the main channel now and use a sub-channel. That way the guys can use loose chat on the main channel and people might come to realise that the sub-channels are strictly for combat. |
I enjoy flying with the American players, some use the mod and some don't - they have a great sense of humour and get the balance between a friendly atmosphere and serious play spot on.
|
Come on, please tell me where can I find & try this mod.
Thx! |

I agree with this! If you really just want to have combat talk only, its hard to limit what 20 people on a channel want to talk about. You have people warming up and trying to get into formation if you really need silence this is an easy solution. |

It then degenerated into an analysis of Haggis. :( As for the sound mod, I loved it when I first heard it, then thought it interfered with comms too much, but now I know I can adjust volume for each player I'll try again. I just love the realism. |

corander - the plugin is spot on as it is now (5.1), thanks for all your hard work |
I don't use it. Like the way people sound already. Hard to understand when it is in use. Perhaps make it where you hear it that way but default no one is forced to listen to it. Or perhaps use it to clean up everyone that uses it and leaves others not using it unchanged.
