Is this the best VGA for COD?
|
Thats for workstations... wouldn't work very well for gaming I don't think.
|
The question should be "Is this the least crappy VGA for COD?" since you will have stutters and crashes no matter what you throw at it.
|
I wonder if FS_PATH (guess this is the nick) with his super PC has stutters and crashes.

Untill Crossfire and SLI are enabled in this game fs~phat's system runs as fast as his fastest single GPU allows. I almost went with a tripple gtx580 setup in January but held off to see how the game ran. Now, after a small CPU/GPU upgrade, I'm waiting for next years crop of GPU's. Hopefully by that time Il2 CloD will use more than one GPU. I'm really holding my fingers crossed that Nvidia comes out with a single card that has 3 DVI connectors. That way we won't need dual cards for surround video anymore.

My system is smooth as silk, no stutters on anything. All games on highest settings

High end cards; http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
Edit; I see the Quadro 6000 down the list at 2,745 points, so many cheaper cards are better. |

Guess your 2600K and the 3GB on the VGA makes a difference. |
The best VGA for this flight sim will come end 2012 - beginning 2013 with the new NV generation.
In the meantime, beginning of 2012 we will have a reasonably working well NV card. ATI is supposed to do the same, actually some say that the new ATI cards will hit the market at Xmas (as it was supposed for the NV cards as well, but news came that they decided to delay the introduction to Q1 2012). ~S~ |
I don't get any either.
Also running an i7 2600k @ 4.4 Hz and a gtx580 sc 1.5gb. |
Go for the 580, and if you want a monster 590. Later when sli works fine you can get another 580 or 590 and you will have a beast.
|
If you are talking about great performance or poor performance with high-end equipment, be sure to include the resolution you are playing at. Saying you play everything at max with zero stutters doesn't mean much if you're using a 15" CRT @ 1024x768. Also saying the game runs like crap on your i7 and 3GB card is a similar situation if you're trying to span it across 3 25" monitors, each at some crazy-high resolution.
|
I think all you get for the price is a different looking product for workstations and a ton of developer support. Like personal support.
|
I guess this is a steal at only $1500.
I believe that 2 GPUs on one card is still considered SLI and therefore not worth it at this time. http://hardocp.com/article/2011/11/0...eo_card_review |
