Just tried new driver with Black Death track. No discernable difference/improvement.

Beta driver Tvrdi?
I did a check for updates and it said no updates available for my 280.26.

btw I nearly got you last night, right up to the point where you started flying under water near the French coast..... until I realised the server had gone down :)

Down loaded and installed. No increase in performance over beta as far as I can see. Trees and shadows directly below plane seem better, less discernable flickering. Radar masts at Dover very much better. They looked very coarse, black, broken up and flickery before. They are now more grey brown in colour, much better defined and more stable.

Thanks for heads up.

Cool updating it now. Heres a link

Mañana then for the Spanish users I guess? ;)

mazex 10-24-2011 04:37 PM

It's impressive by the way which power the big development houses have. This is really a special release for BF3 that I just got a mail about the fact that my copy shipped today...

skouras 10-24-2011 04:47 PM

TODAY....

I'm from Sweden... As it's a Swedish game I guess we get the supply first? ;)

Lucky you...

This version changed my display scaling so that CloD didn't stretch to full screen.

Can be corrected in Nvidia panel, by setting display instead of GPU and full stretch setting.

Ya esta disponible Costa buscalo en el apartado de controladores * descargar controladores y archivos beta * ahi selecciona tu modelo y lo descargas.

GF_Mastiff 10-24-2011 10:57 PM

seems no difference in this version 285.62whql in CLOD.

Tvrdi 10-24-2011 10:59 PM

guys just to let you know...tried the new drivers and it seams that latest betas (285.38 ) are better performers in CLOD (didnt measure FPS). Its smoother with latest beta drivers...

LoBiSoMeM 10-24-2011 11:02 PM

New driver makes Firefox a dangerous app, as usual...

pupaxx 10-25-2011 08:14 AM

Tried new drivers...

My drivers were to be updated since february 2011 so I decided to switch to news. Really great improvement in quality and performance. Last night I had a really good time on ATAG server, we were few people, no more than 10/15 but really great fps with my dated machine. 55 Average, 92 maximum, 5 Minimum, no stutters at all; video settings medium/high with trees off, in game AA and Vsync settings to 0/off, in nvidia cp AA and Aniso to x8Q. The terrain was really smoothly rendered, flickering shadows drastically reduced, the airplanes still show a bit jagged but very pleasant.
Video res 1680x1050. Some interceptions at 15.000ft very immersive.
I think in near future and for years to come we'll have a lot of fun!
Ciao

You mean its better than the later WHQL 285.62?

Yes, for me. Dunno how it will perform on your PC. We all have different cards. My card is MSI GTX470 TwinFrozr2....newer drivers are (usuallly) better optimised for newer cards...lets say GTX5xx series..

Whiski 10-25-2011 12:06 PM

I removed the latest official nvidia drivers.

I did not find any improvement in game performance. Actually, I was getting graphics glitches (looked like white lines coming from the bottom and top of a/c), I did notice a small drop in FPS (2-4 fps) from the beta 285.38 but no difference in over all smoothness.

Also, upon restarting my pc this morning, I found I could not connect to any of my favorite web pages through Firefox. Not sure if its related but it started only after I restarted this morning with no other program installed other than nvidia drivers. Removed the drivers and everything is back to normal.

Reinstalling the beta 285.38 and will check the game for those graphics anomalies.

285.xx are dangerous for their tendency to timeout - this can result in crashes and lockups of games or other applications (i.e. Firefox with GPU acceleration on). 285.62 changelog mentions that timeouts are fixed - we will see, if that is true.

By the way, 285.62 fixes hardware video decoding also, which was broken in latest beta.

Not fixed, lots of driver crashes... :(

ACE-OF-ACES 10-25-2011 02:13 PM

I must say I am liking these new drivers.. Only tried them for an hour or so last night but they seem pretty good.

But, at the same time I made a few changes to the NVIDIA settings for the Launcher.exe.

So the improvments I am seeing could be due to those changes. I would have to revert back to the old drivers to prove that to myself, but, really not that interested. I was going to do a quick FRAPS test last night, but, for some reason FRAPS was not working like it should.. Than it got late and I hit the hey, think Ill try it again tonight

Oh one other thing, the Launcher.exe now shows up in the NVIDIA panel with the CoD logo, which helps alot.

Zappatime 10-25-2011 09:33 PM

Well I installed it this evening and I appeared to get higher frame rates but a bit more stuttering, so plus and minus! I thought the image quality looked a lot better than their last beta 285.38. Maybe once the graphics engine is totally sorted for COD we will get an optimised profile for it, I guess until then its not worth Nvidia's efforts with graphic engine changes in the offing again.
