New beta patch, good things/bad things
 

Good things:
Improvements in sounds, we now have outside/inside cockpit sound.
Auto prop-pitch in E-4

Bad things:
Explosion freeze game bug obviously
The colour tweaks, why oh why?!! They were great before IMO.
109 cockpit colours/contrast(?) is now horrible, also IMO.

Short list so far but I'd like to hear what the rest of you guys think.

If you dive your aircraft now breaks apart :D

New colours, like them :D (EDIT: well not sure now)

I dont like the colors
I dont like the new croshair in the BF109 = Arcade , i want the old one back
I do like the new sounds :-)
I do like the cockpits color

I cant start the G50 it seems that the hud and the control levers are moving in a wrong way
Some Objects (houses,trees etc... ar missing when playing campaign)

Did the BF109 had auto propitch anyway ? if it had it.. then its fine if not why implement it. I stick to the manual PP auto pp just sucks imo.... ok the E4 had it lol i forgot .

Oh and the spit MK2A is stil ufo plane vs BF109
FM of BF109 needs also to be histroy correct .

I dont like the crosshair reticle its had the soft projection haze taken away.
Sound is still breaking up on the merlins when i have just started up.
The game crashes everytime without fail when i try to take off.

Using the Nvidia Beta patch.

I´m hating so much the new cockpit colors :)

I like new colours
Improved sounds are good too
Level bombing improved + 1 !
Performance on my rig has become smoother, but not much FPS gain.
Auto prop pitch
New lighting is good, no more smoke inside cockpit

Only thing I don't like is the lock up when an explosion on solid ground happens.

Installed this beta patch over the previous one, and prior to installing I cleared out the Cache of the game.

Good thing - It downloaded fairly quick

Bad thing - It porked the game completely

Good things, erm none for me. Sound more stable maybe.

Bad things, stutters are back, game freezes on explosions when a 'plane is destroyed and for no reason at all online, landscape colouring worse, also cockpit colouring.
Lighting for time of day seems different. 6.00am was quite dark, now is more like 10.00am, depending on time of year of course, but from patch to patch very different.

Going to the pub now, coz I'm a bit fed up.

It's a BETA, don't assume it'll make your game runs better. Expect that when you download the final patch.

We have the MAJOR explosion bug, but after saw that, i decided to test the evolving new sound engine, and it's starts to sound really good! :cool:

Iam aware its a beta, I purchased the Alpha, Your right the sound is better, but thats as far as it goes for me, the new beta murders my FPS by 50%. Ive spent hours this evening doing fresh installs, new driver, old drivers, but its the patch, I roll back to the last patch no problem, new patch kills my game.

Well, I don't have performance hit. Just report that to devs and your hardware.

Do the testing. It's boring but that's what we need to do...

No disrespect intended..But, how about the dev's report to us about their hardware....

It can't get any worse can it ? low FPS, crap color, have turned all the settings down and now it looks like a 1990's sim with each patch it gets worse for me at one time it was very good but now, im fed up with restarting the sim and changing settings.
So sorry to be so negative I know they have tried to sort it out, going back to iL2 Dark Blue World addon (and thats free)

All in all I think its a good improvement. The Effects lock up bug being the biggy that needs fixing ASAP.

Some of the good things. Vne has been tweaked to more realistic values. BF109 is good for 730Kmh + before it starts getting lively. BF110 snaking starts around 650Kmh. Sound cueing for high speed is better. This is going to enhance the flight envelopes dramatically. I haven't tested any other aircraft yet.

Stall Buffet is enhanced and is even better.

Auto prop pitch is working exceptionally well and easily keeps up with IAS/TAS changes.
BF109 Rads work just fine as long as you Toggle them to manual (R key). The Default Eng rad position is fully open. Once the R key is pressed they work just as before.

RAF Serial numbers are now back to being Black with Sqn codes grey.

Unfortunately the Sand blockage in the river near Le Havre is still there (I havent checked the Thames blockage yet).

Terrain colours ... not to bad personally I think I preferred the first Beta. Same goes for the cockpit colours.

BF109,Spit.Hurricane no longer have pneumatic sounds for gear selection ... which is correct as they were Hydraulic.

And for those in West Sussex Horsham is now on the Map :) :) :)

So its not all gloom and doom imo, showstopper is the Effects lock up.

Guys I'm loving the new patch, post hotfix.

The sounds are even better than the last patch - the wind noise is a real immersion adder!

I also love the new colours - cockpits are clearer and easier to see - colours much crisper and cleaner.

A big win from me - thanks Luthier and team!

Well now that the fix is out I ran the patch.
Have to agree, the higher resolution is great.
Looks great on my 25" ASUS since you asked about monitors lol.
