Who is Luthier???

I know what some of you are thinking right now "what an idiot"

Like mentioned before I am new to IL2, and this is not ment to be disrespectful.. I am very impressed with what they have created, even though its not perfect... Yet;)

i have just read the ingame credits and i don´t see Luthier´s name anywhere.

Is he the sequel to Oleg Maddox?

Luthier is Ilya Shevchenko, the lead development producer for the game. He was the main man behind Pacific Fighters, the PE-2 and Manchuria addons as well I think for IL-2. :)

Luthier is a name that in English generally refers to the devil before being cast from heaven, although this is not the original meaning of the term. In Latin, from which the English word is derived.

Wow, that´s new to me. The word luthier came from French because in the XVI Century the makers of lutes were called luthiers. Today is applied worlwide for artisans who make musical instruments by hand. By the way, I´m a professional luthier (classical guitars).,

Cheers,

Sorry I didn't have my glasses on. You're right. I thought it said Lucifer. My bad.

Not quite, although many on these forums may prefer your definition

from wiki

A luthier (play /ˈluːtiər/ loo-ti-ər)[1] is someone who makes or repairs lutes and other string instruments.

Lucifer is what you were thinking of.

Vertigo is a movie you watch when get the idea to create a 109 gunsight monstrosity.

Fargo is a movie you watch when you get the idea to throw the monstrosity in the wood chipper.

Fargo is a very good movie Luthier. Please take a lesson and have a nice day. :-P

He is probably one of these guys...he is a recluse, and only heard from on occasion, that is, if he has nothing better to do.:-P

Luthier is Ilya Shevchenko.
He was head of RRG Studios who released the Pe-2, Manchuria and other add-ons for the IL2/1946 series.
That same team has also been working on the Korean add-on for CoD (Project Galba).

Recently Luthier appears to have taken over as lead project manager for the whole CoD series.

From the planned Project Galba (at present presumably 'on hold')

I'm italian. The words "lute" and "luthier" came from french words that came from the italian word "liuto" or "leuto", that came from the portuguese word "laud" or "alaud", that came from the arabian word "(al) 'ud".
The " 'ud" is an ancient arabian instrument exported during the middle ages by arabs in Sicily and Portugal.

RCAF_FB_Orville 08-26-2011 10:36 AM

He is the 'Artist formerly known as Prince'. And he is funky.

Aside from developing flight sims and stoically ignoring his customers (lol), He also builds electric ukeleles as a sideline and gives all proceeds to starving Romanian Meerkat orphanage charities.

Look, there's nothing else to talk about, so I might as well talk out of my arse. 'Why change the habit of a lifetime' chimes in a 'Defender of the Faith' *TM* but to be fair, I did learn from the best. Thanks, 1C.
