Do you have an estimated release date for full 4.09 and the server side version?........please?

I'd rather wait for 4.09 than have 1C release a version now that can be immediately hacked.

The only thing you cant do with the beta version is run a dedicated server. The online community really needs the 4.09 dedicated server to provide much better security against hacks. That will take time, and we are prepared to wait for it.

Thank you Oleg and Team for your continuing support to this excellent product. We are right behind you, and will be patient.

Never going to happen! I know from at least 2 Russian and 1 German group that are going to "Hack" it as you say, just to piss alot of people off on this forum and the Zoo. The so-called "Anti-modder" crowd claiming that everyone using a mod is a cheater, has made alot of bad blood.

I always said, if some of the big mouths here would have been shut-up at the start, and not let to ramble on, things would have been different. Just after most people thought the "scare" was over, you have to write such crap. Get real dude, as Bearcat has been saying, the deed is done and nobody is going to undo it. 1C has more important things to do, (SoW rings a bell maybe?) as to worry about the "maybe", "possible", "the sky is falling", "my game is ruined...wagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh", crowd.

I am surprised that posts regarding the hacks weren't immediately deleted, right from the start. It would have slowed down the whole hack process and prevented alot of bad blood in this forum. I would call them a mod if it were sanctioned by the owner of the software, but until then its a hack. They arn't even good hacks...I guess one mans treasure is another mans garbage.

"Barbies pony farm" has been hacked. It is now "Barbies Cat House" A much more adult entertaining version. :mrgreen:

I think it will take another few weeks. Considering the issues found with the new .dlls, the little tweaking-stuff and the current timetable I guess it will take a while to polish things up.

Hi, my first post on this new forum.

The lack of a dedicated server beta patch has me concerned: ie. we host a 90+ pilot mission as part of Forgotten Skies 3 times a week. We've pushed the server to the upper limits (we reached something like 105-110 pilots).

If I want to test the stability and weed out bugs for a patch test (assuming this is why it is beta?), then it would seem to me, you'd want to test the server components.

Granted, folks still fly coops, but most online flying today is done on dedicated servers.

I would like to suggest that a dedicated server 4.09 beta be released prior to the official release in order to properly test the client.

Having a bug free, stable release is important to me.

99.99% of those that might/will use the mod to cheat online, are ALREADY cheating.

Good point. This is just Beta1, though. Maybe it was primarily focused on testing the combination of the new dlls, the increased visibility-range and the new default-skins. I wouldn't wonder if there is a next beta released before the full 4.09.

I totally agree! Even an entire AI forum where this issue can be fought over by some and completely ignored by others. It's small wonder that responses from the company have become scarce compared to the early to mid-term days in the ORR.
Apart from the heavy burden of creating a new sim, who would keep going to a place where their integrity and ability was constantly attacked? Not me, for sure.

The best way to do it is to pm Evgeny.Another way is to pm CrazyIvan (he will love me for this!) and ask him to point out the problem to Evgeny.Its worked for me in the past here.
Remember Evgeny is I believe Russian,and moderates the whole 1C forum,so some things might get past him.There needs to be more moderators here,or every thread risks going south,and a lot of people just will not bother,and that would be a shame.

OT: when is the Full version expected. 4.09m

The correct answer is that nobody, probably not even 1C, knows today. Wait and see.

I think the better way of saying that that could have slowed the growth of the venom bush would have been... every cheater will use a hack if it is available... and before the sim was hacked they were not available... which is the point... but there were a lot of people who said some really stupid things when this first jumped off... there is more than enough blame for the schism to go around.. but the battle was IMO lost once the sim was hacked... all the rest has been kicking and screaming.. and unless either 1C or some community member (and I doubt it will be really viable without 1C's help) can come up with a server side protection for those who want one and those who will respect one.. and there are those who use mods but will respect a server admin's request to not have mods on their server, the spectre of cheating with FDW hacks will always be there... and the same mentality that will make a person say "Yeah well I'm going to hack it just to piss you off..." is the same mentality that has made a fortune for companies like McCaffe & Norton.... etc... it is the same mentality that will introduce a virus into cyberspace.. and no matter what you cant change the messed up side of human nature... Those kinds of folks will always be around. It wouldnt surprise me if this whole thing started because someone got pissed at 1C....

If 1C can make 4.09 more robust and un-hackable then so be it...I am all for that. Your post is insulting to many fine people that fly IL-2 online and offline. unfortunately Oleg and Company don't reap the great benefits the 1c Company does and the owners, their just paid programmers.

I don't believe that Oleg is just a paid programmer. He has his own company that develops and owns the sim. I would assume UBI and/or IC pay alot of the develpment costs for the right to distribute and percentage of the profit. It should be a win/win, but I have no idea on how the profits are shared. Just guessing.

Besides, just how do you think it will take to break it again? You must remember, it was broken as we know it today by the Russian community. These guys have spent years braking codes and stuff during the cold war. They are some of the best in the world. They have been "reverse-engineering" for years dude.
