Dynamic Campaign Released
2 Attachment(s)
I thought this iteration differed enough from my JG51 campaign that it deserved its own name and thread.
This is a dynamic campaign for IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover. It is not a hack or a mod and is completely safe to use if you fly online. At the moment, it only creates missions suitable for fighters. See the INSTALL.txt file for instructions on how to install the campaign. Highlights include: -Four different mission types. -Two areas of operations. -Victory tracking. -Configurable AI skill and numbers. -Configurable campaign length -Choose your squadron, airfield, and aircraft. I am looking for suitable artwork for the "battleSuccess" and "battleFailure" pages. Airwarfare.com Download |
Havent tried it yet but awesome work.
|
Good work look forward to checking it out, I need a bit more practice that is for sure, these syndicate guys keep whoopin me.
That min and max AI does that include all aircraft or just enemy aircraft? |

Thank you!

Looks good. Glad someone has the time to explore the capabilites of the new engine, since Maddox Games clearly doesn't. They are too busy fixing it and adding other things. :-P
|
Hi! Great work as usual!
Is it possible to take this campaign to MP server side? Say every 20 minutes a new 40-60-minute mission will launch from specific airfields. Players would receive briefing upon spawn on a particular field. This would make a perfect "coop" server. Players would know that every 20 minutes a new "coop" starts. If someone finishes his mission earlier he could fly a short "dogfight" mission from a more close airfield. I believe CloD engine allows any offline campaign to be played online with minor changes, i.e. spawnpoints and onscreen briefings added. |
thanks TheEnlightenedFlorist
i really enjoy the campaign:-P |

Ideally I wish all offline campaigns are developed with online use in mind. The game engine took away differences between coop and dogfight and can do the same with off- and online differences. If it is too much work for offline campaign creators maybe someone would write a script or addon for servers to allow them running offline campaigns as online ones in MP. Creation of spawnpoints can be scripted. The only thing that would require human input is writing briefings for the opposing side as they are not written for offline mode. However creation of a simple briefing can be scripted too. If this toolbox is available a convention among campaign makers can be created to follow some technical standards to make all campaigns compatible with this server side addon. Just imagine that you can fly all available offline campaigns together with your friends as a "coop" and against real opponents. This is where real power of the CloD engine would itself. |
@ moderators
Is it possible to create an Offline/singleplayer subforum to collect all threads with campaigns and single-player missions. It is very difficult for most of casual users to find them as they never visit the FMB subforum where these threads are lost among technical discussions anyway. E.g. of such subforum at sukhoi.ru http://translate.google.com/translat....php%3Ff%3D226 Many users still complain that there is no playable offline contents available because they are just not informed. An alternative is to make this thread a sticky if feasible http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=23652 |
This sounds really good. Thank you very much. :) (I just need to finish something else first before diving back into Clod.)
Ataros' idea would make things much easier for players looking for more content. |
Very wise Ataros we should be endorsing this idea moderators ,it makes sense.
|
I tried the two first RAF missions still some strange things possible like beginning the campaign the 1 September 1939 with the Germans in France. But otherwise great fun very realistic.
Thanks a lot to the creator’s great job. I have a nice pc thus I did use the high/west campaign. I hope to post some constructive critics in the future. Have a nice and fun game...;) Score; missions 2 Victories 0. |
13 missions so far
excellent hope they make with some bombers too:grin: |
Great work. Works so far for me :)
|
RAF campaign;
First mission Six pm. I miss my take off. I get a stern reminder of flight procedures, plane and I are ok, my self-confidence not! End of mission. Second mission 4 am. Perfect take off. Nearly one hour patrolling along the coast from East Bourne to Bournemouth and Back. Controller signal Germans in our sector but they remain out of sight. Landing ok! Weather ok with fragmented clouds. Third mission 9 am. same day. Mission intercept German bomber over Bournemouth at 12000 ft. Take off and the climb is all ok, I did encounter a pair of 109’s but they did not engage me and I could not engage the109 because the altitude advantage the 109 had. Found 18 110 above the Isle of Wight at 15000 ft. Tried to jump them but they spotted me and in the following short dogfight in downed one and had to bailout due to battle damage. Landed safely on the ground and got back to base by train. First victory confirmation by some naval observer was waiting for me at the home base. Flight time recorded 45 min. Squadron losses two aircrafts, one pilot. Squadron victories 3 110 destroyed, 3 110 probable, and 2 110 damaged. I hope you like this! |
Is there a way for you to generate names for your squadron and people who die get their name in a "dead " column?
|

Have fun I do!:-D |
Mission four. Day 3 take off at 8 am. Mission intercepts some bomber Bembridge airfield at 7000 Ft. so the briefing says. It is a long climb and the bombers are not at the “rendez-vous”! Not yet arrived and they are higher than announced by the plotter, more than 15000 ft. a difficult climb followed and a pursuit of 9 he111 p2 only after 15 min did I overtake them hit one and lose control of my plane to regain it only after losing 2000 feet of altitude. The last plane of the group is badly hit and is losing altitude and is contact with his group, he is ready for the final killing hits. Some minutes later it is done and a wheel down, an engine streaming smoke and a radiator some white smoke, the plane losing fast altitude this all ends in a great splash of water. But my engine also has problems oil is at 100° and glycol 85°. The engine runs normally I dive, in a swallow from 1300 feet’s to ground level from Brighton to Wilmington Airfield where I land without a problem other than my engine does size up the moment I reduce the rpm’s when I touch the ground. One official He111 victory for me a second German bagged. All ammo gone for one plane down this Germans are tough buggers. Weather clear without clouds no wind to speak of. No one else did intercept the Germans.

senseispcc
you fly the EAST or WEST also which airfield and how many max planes did you set thanks |
Is there a key to just skip time completely until something happens? In missions I just usually have the accelerate key down until in combat. it'd be nice to just press ALT-T and you have just jumped 20mins ahead
|

Also, when you are supposed to escort bombers, they will always meet you over your airbase. Depending on which airbase you choose and which airbase they spawn at, it may take them a while to get there. They start in the air so hopefully it won't take them too long to get there. Quote:

Here are some more features I didn't mention in the first post: -Your aircraft ages progressively with time. -At the "battleSuccess" page, the "Refly" button has been replaced with a "Save" button. This will save the mission you just flew so you can replay it at a later date if you wish. |
Really awesome. I'll be watching this.
|
WOW I like this a lot. I just played 4 missions, June, 1940, spitfire. It was the most fun I have had playing COD. Thanks you for making this.
I look forward to a bomber dynamic campaign. Actually I look forward to what ever you do next... :-D |
Awesome Sir Florist, just dowloaded and going to install now. :-D
|
Looking good, thanks so much for this. I'd put a bit more effort in and ask for $5-10 donation at download! A dynamic campaign for CoD is essential for the offline crowd which (I think) is the majority of players.

I haven't spent too much time flying around looking for a fight. Most missions I have played I took off, climbed to alt, and patrolled the coast till I saw some flak smoke and investigated. Didn't get a chance to get bored. I actually really like the sense that you don't know what to expect. |

...thanks for taking the effort to create a campaign for CloD
:) |
[QUOTE=Pluto;323238]...thanks for taking the effort to create a campaign for CloD
:)[/QUOTE What is the Maximum for the numbers of planes in a west map campaign? One last remark; the victory tally from one mission to the next does not work at all! Otherwise thanks for your effort continue this way and let us hope for the future. Have a very nice game. :-D |
Mission five day 4 5am. Mission intercepts German planes at altitude 2000m above Sandown. Take off no problem but wingmen’s once again does not know the meaning of following the leader. Two minutes after takeoff they have gone with the wind nowhere to be seen. I climb to 15000 feet better to be safe than sorry, direction south of the Isle of Wight. Good for me I did because in place of bomber I found a bunch of 109 at 9000 feet due north. This time I had the upper hand, in the sun higher and more speed. My only problem one Spitfire against 8 109’s! A dive, one, two and three hit on so many different 109’s, damaged not destroyed, my speed was to great that my gunnery was to imprecise, rushed, hasty. But the fourth and last I hit lost is rudder also I did not see any parachute, when the plane crashed in the sea, so did I hit the pilot? The rest of the 109 did try to make me pay for their comrade, ten or fifteen minutes of dogfight first at 6000 feet and to end at 100 feet. Lucky for me they were not there to fight with me but to destroy a flight of four Blenheim’s that got through without a scratch maybe because of me? After more than one hour of flying I did land at the home base with less than 10 gallons of fuel. Landed at 6.15am. Once again no clouds. 3 BF109 damaged one destroyed but not confirmed.
Like me I hope you have a fun game. :-D |

I think that if you radio the tower and tell them you're ready for take-off the wingmen will follow suit and do the same.
|

But I have so much fun. :-D |
Many thanks- any tricks installing same?

I'll see if I can find a problem with victory logging. If you wouldn't mind could you keep an eye on the logs for me and post anything that you think looks relevant? Here's luthier's post explaining how to enable logging. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...116#post300116 |
Just flew my first mission, east, escort mssion for 110s.
We escorted the 110s to their target, an airfiled, they bombed it, destroyed 4 Spits on the ground, I shot down 2 in the air, a bit awkward, came up behind them, started shooting at close range, no defensive moves from them, so they were toast pretty quick, but that is a game issue that's been mentioned numerous times I think. However, the 110s did after their attack on the airfiled not stop circling around and flying over the enemy airfiled again and again. I finally gave up and returned to France. The home tower called one plane after another from my flight to land, starting with the #4 plane, after he landed they called the next one until it was my turn, the 110s were at that point still circling the enemy airfield. Do you think the 110s getting stuck in a pattern is a game issue or a campaign issue? In any case, great work, thanks a million for putting in a great effort and giving the community something that raises the value of the game immensly :-D. This is exactely what I was hoping for, choose your unit, airplane and area of operations. I know in time it will be possible to elaborate on the whole design more, like a permanent roster, allocation of replacements, stats tracking, though 1C needs to fix a lot of things with the game before that becomes even somewhat feasable (always hate to see your own planes "colliding with the landscape" instead of landing ). Good thing is the next patch is coming, lets see how things are then. |

If you want to save your progress when updating, copy only the new .dlls into the TEFCampaign folder. That way it won't overwrite the current campaign. Ned, that's sounds like a general AI bug to me. |
Been playing your campaign all morning
I have been switching to the number 4 plane for takeoff. Just so the the wing men will follow their leader and I hate to miss out on controlling the takeoff. Sometimes I switch back to leader but most of the time I just fly as number 4. Flying in formation gives me something to do while we cruise... I have just been flying bf110-C7 for Eprobung210 group july1940. I strafed a row of beaufighters and hurricanes at Hawkinge and then flew up the coast to Dover looking for trouble...Strafed some trucks at the radar site and shot done a hurricane. My wing man got a direct hit from flak and spun in to the sea, so i turned for France. I can see I am going to play your campaigns quite a lot. |
very good job! thank you
|
Thanks for your work ;)
|
This is great! Thank you
|
Very cool indeed! I've always been a hater of canned missions, I feel I am more being challenged by the author than by the "war". With dynamic campaigns/missions, it seems to introduce more variety and "that was fun/cool" moments.
Is this dynamic campaign software being added to, or is it final. |

Dynamická kampaň - více dynamických kampaní najednou
I apologize in advance for the bad English. I use google translator. The dynamic campaign is very good. Is there a dynamic setting for the campaign as was the case with IL-2 1946 for example : CampaignDifficulty=Easy etc. And go ahead, to the West and the East was more puzzling to play dynamic campaigns, as it was in old IL-2? Thank you for your answer ... Buffo
|
Still having some fun with this campaign.
Small request, in a future build would it be possible to delay the players flight from taking off immediately? With CEM on I'm having an issue with blowing motors due to warm up. Looking forward to the next release! |
Jonk, as what number do you fly in your flight?
If I fly as the leader I thought I had to use the autopilot to take off since otherwise the other planes won't follow you. |
I just tried to download this from Dynamic Campaign (Fighters) Version:1.1 but I only receive a message that states "The recommended file was not found! Please inform your Webmaster!"
I'm logged in to my account there and haven't yet found the link on that site to contact the Webmaster, so thought I would post this here if someone can offer help. Charlo |
Just tried the link and had the same result, though I do have the campaign already, just tried it to check.
I am sure as soon as The Enlightened Florist notices this he'll take care of it. |
I have since yesterday the same probleme.
|
Hi Guys,
help, help! I have have the same problem, the download is dead....:( BR Hardaway |
Quote:
I've disabled CEM for now. For me, I don't always want to be the lead aircraft, I don't mind tailing the flight in the 4 spot. |

A 'Report Download' link has been added to allow easy reporting of broken links. I have also added a quick contact form so any website problems can be reported and fixed more efficiently |
Just downloaded the dynamic campaign. Thanks a million. I just bought the game yesterday. Got my joystick configured so I could fly (didn't automatically recognize my X52). Flew over England on a free hunt, bagged two spits and RTB'd. I chose not to enable CEM, but had the ai rating at a min of 5 and max of 9. Nice work!
|
Quote:
FYI, after successfully downloading the file I clicked on the "Report this download" link to see what it does, and discovered it immediately sends a message "... to the site administrator with the asking to check the download." My apologies for that, though I bet I won't be the only one to click that link out of mere curiosity. ;) Charlo |
Many thanks for this - CloD needs more like you ...but recently reloaded thiscampaign & lost my initial missions .Now I get "you died " even after a successful mission.I thought I read something about this in an earlier post...but now can't find the solution. Can someone help?
|
TEF, I have been playing this and I must say... bravo sir, well done!
|
Thanks for this.
Just tried it out and am impressed. Only issue I've found (and I haven't been using this long) is that when you dramatically up the min/max aircraft values (150/300 *cough*), an error will be generated during mission creation. "Mission: Bad squadron number for group [BoB_LW_KG76_II.50]" OR "Mission: Bad squadron number for group [BoB_RAF_F_610Sqn_Early.50]" These are the only two squadrons I've seen with generation issues. Cheers Gromic |
Hi guys!
Is there any chance that I can select a E4/B when using the campaign. Would be very nice. Thanks in advance! |
I guess for that the dynamic campaign would have to be updated by TEF and a new version made available for download.
|
Thanks for that fast answer!
|
Hi
Does anyone know how to go about fixing the squadron generation issues I mentioned a couple of posts above? As to the cause, it's not limited to the two aforementioned squadrons. I've been getting lots of different squadron related errors depending on the min/max value settings. Highest I've been able to go is 20 min / 50 max. without any errors, but that'll probably change when new squadrons are rotated in / out. Bummer actually 'cause it would be grand being able to fly against greater numbers dynamically. Kind of like the real thing. Cheers |
it'd be nice to see an update, but likely not till the official patch is out.
|
You'd better watch the IL2 DCE. I don't know if TEF will update his IL2 dynamic campaign, but as it is atm, IL2 DCE is way ahead in terms of developed features. A new beta build will be ready soon enough.
Also, TEF, maybe it will be good that you and Stefan join your forces and work on a single IL2 CoD dynamic campaign code. |
Great job, thanks a million! I've got about 70 hrs flying both the east and west campaigns, and loving it!

hmmmm, i wonder if this could be expanded, to multiple AI dynamic campaigns joined together and the player, as a commander, just gives strategic orders ..hmmm
Just thinking out loud .. . |
Version 2.0 is out. A lot of new additions like Jabo missions. This dynamic campaign works very good. Great work :)
I play a German fighter campaign with minimum planes 30 and maximum 100. Works like a charm for me. |
Quote:

Great new version!
|
Can someone pls be so kind to tell me what is dynamic in this DC, or direct me to the info? Enemy fighters will scramble when flying over there airfield? Moving frontlines? Or what is it about?
Sorry, can`t find this information? |
In what way is this dynamic?
Every mission I seem to win even if I just quit before I even get to the targer , I completely destroyed one airfield and the next mission everything was rebuilt back upto scratch. |
if i start a new campaign and choose all airplanes to go into the campaign i get an error when i start saying..... the game is in a loop which happens when no airplane is selected... and i just selected all the airplanes. anyone else get this error??
funny partt is that when you close the game and restart it the choosen campaign starts just fine only on the end when you want to save your mission the same error pops up again :( |
Quote:
|
Maybe you did in fact deselect all planes? It happend to me the first time, but then I've read the labels.
|
nope i select the planes from the left box and put them in the right box
I just did it again but left 4 planes out all the others are now in the right box and now it works perfectly. I do the Bomber missions in HE P2 and i noticed in 2 missions now that the fueltanks are 1/3 full it's not something you can select. So i made 2x barely back last time even my engine's dead when i passed the coastline due to the lack of fuel. Maybe we can have full tanks instead? |
Left box is selected and right box is deselected ;)

sorry guys |
hey guys!
just downloaded the DC but i have a problem: no matter wich options i choose i allways get the same error: "mission: regiment not found" after clicking ok the game stays in the creating mission loading screen, i have to kill it with the task manager. does anybody know what to do? Greetz, Matzo |
After downloading did you unblock all the parts of the download by right clicking on them and going to properties?
Also I assume you did follow the instructions and installed the files and folders in the correct spots. |
Thank you for great job!
As I understand, the current implementation does not support copying spline road from the mission template. Do you plan to add this feature? Also, in addition to your east and west campaigns, I made another one, with small, 35x35 km battle zone, only 4 airfields, two for each side. Not historical, but convenient for those who do not like long flights. If you do not mind, and someone is interested, I can post it here. |
i just flew the first mission.nice done as far as i can tell....anyway...i would like to know how dynamic this campaign really is?i mean how much influence has the player on the campaign?if one destroys aaa for example, will it stay destroyed in the next mission?
is there a certain amount of planes on each side, and if one destroy planes, will the absolute number of available planes of the enemy side be decreased?i would really like to know that....or is the campaign only an ongoing process of randomly chosen missions? Edit:its a bit annoying that the custom loadout will not be recognized.i dont know about convergence, but my custom loadout is definitely not used when i play the campaign.how can i change it, that the campaign use my custom loadouts and convergence? |

Also, feel free to post your campaign. I have absolutely no problem with anybody making modifications to the campaign. Sorry I took so long to respond. I have been very busy with school and I forgot the password to my forum account. |
I assume this no longer works due to later patches, yes?
Shame. |
I resent that !

Actually, the dynamic campaign works just fine after the final patch, and here's a little something for those who would like to fly 100 octane Spitties and Hurries in an endless dynamic offline campaign:
This is a rather smallish update to the dynamic campaign engine for IL-2 cliffs of Dover kindly provided for the community by TheEnlightenedflorist. What this will do is add Spitfire Ia 100oct and Hurricane 100oct aircraft to be selected and flown by the user during a campaign. It was done by a notepad edit of the Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\Parts\TEFCampaign\campaign\east\Files\player Aircraft.SECTION Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\Parts\TEFCampaign\campaign\west\Files\player Aircraft.SECTION files, so don't expect it to be a revolutionary update :). Install it by extracting the archive to Your Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ folder over an already existing TEFCampaign installation, or by copying files from the archive to the apropriate locations (listed above) manually. |
Thus no chance for a Stuka dynamic campaign? :(
|
Awwww You don't really mean that!

Stookie :), look in the KampfGeschwader squadrons already equipped with JU-88s once in the campaign configuration menu.

Regarding the TF patch and the new planes introduced with it
1 Attachment(s)
New planes have been introduced with the Team Fusion patch and, as things stand, TheEnlightenedFlorist dynamic campaign engine works great with it. To make the new planes selectable in the campaign install the files provided in the archive :).

Thank you too SadoMarxist Again, thank you. |
Very nice work.
Online would be fun like the others said. |
Stoli,
As far as I know, the dynamic campaign engine doesn't determine the performance of the aircraft. Therefore, the performance should be exactly as the TF set it to be :). Other gentlemen, Regarding my measly contribution, for what it's worth, You're very welcome. |
Hi,
Sorry for the dumb question. Is it possible to make a coop mission from the full mission builder? that's what I used to do with IL2 1946 and it would be the only reason for me and my friends to buy Cliffs of Dover. Thanks for your reply |
We fly missions online coop multiplayer, host yourself ?.
In one test we did last night, could only fly the host device, the other plane could not choose. In other missions issued by us if we could fly safely. I hope my English (google translator) serves to explain. regards, Horse. |
The d/l link leads to a removed file.
