Ubi advertisment > CloD at an end?

http://newsletters.ubi.com/EMEA/Clif.../uk_index.html

Is that a spelling mistake > LAST instead of LATEST?

BRIGGBOY 08-05-2011 11:53 PM

i do hope not it is the last. ive only just got into PC simming

zoopyzook 08-05-2011 11:55 PM

No, I think it speaks the truth.

No Oleg Maddox = no Maddox games

The sales of CloD have just been used to pay off the debts from development then quietly shut the door and last man turns off the light.

sorry to be pessimistic but that is probably not far from the truth

Gamekeeper 08-06-2011 12:05 AM

Perhaps they have decided to drop the IL-2 Sturmovik tag and return with the original Storm Of War title for future projects.

Robotic Pope 08-06-2011 12:08 AM

Wrong translation from Russian.

Thee_oddball 08-06-2011 12:09 AM

given how they cant even update there site correctly im going to say its a typo.

S!

Redroach 08-06-2011 12:16 AM

Heh. Before the last guy turns off the light, they should change the tagline in this forum, too! :D

Possibly, according to google translate last and latest both come up as последний

danjama 08-06-2011 01:04 AM

In some way, last and latest are the same.

Pudfark 08-06-2011 01:13 AM

@danjama.....:lol:

machoo 08-06-2011 02:09 AM

Stop being so optimistic. This game is a fail. You know it.

Skoshi Tiger 08-06-2011 02:13 AM

Yes I think it's just a poor choice of words for the translation.

As in "My last hangover was really bad"

Making a statement like that does not imply that you are not going to have another hangover (unless it was really, really bad! !) )

Cheers!

Those of you around at the original release will remember that they couldn't even get Churchill's "Never in the field of human conflict..." speech typed out correctly.

And if it is Ubi's Last association with Maddox Games, few of us will lose much sleep over it.

Is that machoo or magoo?

I'm having a lot of fun in it. No fail for me although it does need work.

No wonder they drink vodka! Wait, so do I.

Pluto 08-06-2011 08:13 AM

Ubisoft gives up CloD ?

The "last" installment of this sim by Ubisoft ?
Would be great if it is true !
:-P
That gives hope for future releases of this new flightsim.
Maybe then the next sequel of this sim, released by another company will be in better shape on the release date !?
You certainly dont need Ubisoft for a good flightsim, look at "Rise of Flight" !
:!:
But I guess, they just mean, "the newest" release.
:(

Rattlehead 08-06-2011 08:26 AM

Typo.

Bokononist 08-06-2011 08:41 AM

Good grief. I guess this is the sort of nonsense post that comes of lack of frequent updates by the devs. I choose to believe what the devs have actually said, rather than the strange patern of leaves in the bottom of my teacup.

JG52Uther 08-06-2011 10:04 AM

Oleg works for someone else now.
Luthier will care for us more when the next expansion is ready.
The world is due to end in 2012.

that, in my opinion, can keep for himself if CoD will not be fixed... I'll never again buy a title from him

Back to topic: simple typo and now please calm down.

That, imo, is your loss, as you will realize in the near future!

so, you suggest to buy an expansion for a beta game only to support a developer that act like this? no info, no support, nothing at all? And are you sure will be an expansion? Are you sure will be a patch or the next post from luthier will be some other stupid video music?
I'm so frustrated because this game have so many potentials... but really seems gone, I hope to be wrong.. but this is not how a serious developer acts with his customers and potential customers.

Feathered_IV 08-06-2011 02:12 PM

I'm beginning to wonder if the best thing for MG is if Luthier were to step down as project leader. Maybe get someone like Albert Zhiltsov onto it instead. He's a bit scary, but that guy certainly knows how to work a plan.

furbs 08-06-2011 02:21 PM

For me i knew there was something seriously wrong with the development of COD, the moment i saw "spit-girl"

Under Oleg there would of never been a spit-girl or a banjo music update.

Things have slipped so far its very worrying for the future of the series.

JG52Uther 08-06-2011 02:31 PM

Well Spit girl was certainly a 'WTF!' moment for me...

I think you're spot on furbs,I hope they do continue to improve this sim because if they do just leave us with what's on the table,I for one won't be investing any more money into any their future projects,ie,The Eastern Front Campaign for one.

That would be it for me,game over.

Similar thoughts here....agreed.
Well, what is obvious to all?
You can't bother somebody who doesn't care...

Years were spent to promote this endeavor...
Silence....for many....has negated it....

skouras 08-06-2011 02:57 PM

The "spit-girl" was in development while Oleg was still there..
Also Oleg left the building but he still watch the development of this sim
from Oleg's channel....

Aye. Remember how years ago people would joke about a romantic love triangle being included. And laugh at the thought of such an absurdity making it's way into the game...

Tree_UK 08-06-2011 03:26 PM

The question is, how many months are we going to sit here waiting for an update whilst ignoring the 'writing on the wall'.
