clean uninstall and reinstall

hey guys!i want to do a complete clean reinstall of cod.meaning i want to uninstall it completely and then do a clean reinstall.
i did it today, but somehow my game stutters and freezes more than with my previous install, so i want to do it correctly.

i want that nothing is left on my pc from cod before i install it again, to prevent it of using old possible corrupt files.
so what else should i consider to do besides deleting it from steam?
thx in advance.

Make sure to delete the 1c Softclub folder in My Documents, though beware that you may want to save it someplace as it contains all your control setups if you turned steam cloud off.

yes dano i already did that!but thx.
anything else?

Someone mentioned scouring the registry for cliffs of dover entries and removing those.

I hate the registry, and it's dangerous to fool around in there if you don't know what you're doing.

?scouring the registry??
how do i do that?where is it?
dangerous?

Uninstalling/reinstalling probably won't change much, if anything.
Why do you want to do it?

David198502 07-20-2011 03:43 PM

well i did uninstall and reinstall it today, because i wanted to get rid of the mods i installed.
i know its not necessary to do that to uninstall the mods, but i did it(stupid me).now after a reinstall, my game stutters and freezes much more than before.
i did delete 1c folder and checked integrity in steam, but nothing seems to help.

And you didn't install old mobo or video drivers when you installed again? Is everything exactly as it was before you uninstalled?

no everything is like it was!really strange.fps wise its the same, but stutters and freezes are much more now, when i change view with trackir

David198502 07-20-2011 04:31 PM

hey cheesehawk!
i downloaded piriform ccleaner.
but im a bit helpless what to do next!

This happened to me oddly enough, I followed Blackdogs post to the letter, I hadn't got any mods installed i just wanted to clean up the patches and do a fresh start, but I noticed a considerable drop in FPS (using black death track) and more stuttering. Ive not found a fix yet. :(

David198502 07-20-2011 04:45 PM

oh sh...
that sounds not good for me!

Take a look, which core uses the game the little. From the others switch the TrackIR process off. Maybe it helps.

David198502 07-20-2011 05:15 PM

OK and how do i do that??i would need a step by step instruction.

Open the task manager (right click on tray)
Click on the process tab (You see the processor usage on the performance page)
Search the TrackIR .exe
right click, affinity settings
remove the markings
click ok

It doesn't working, if you run the program "as administrator", and have to repeat this at every program restart (there is a program possibly, with which this can be automated, I was not searching yet)
