Game Doesn't Run GTX 480
I upgraded my graphics card from a GTS 250 to a GTX 480, and IL2 CoD will no longer run on my computer. The game crashes when I try to start it up. Does anyone with a GTX 480 have a conf.ini that they can post so that I try to use that to run the game.
Thanks |

Any other possible way we can fix the problem? What is the Problem we are trying to fix anyway? Win 7 64Bit, I7, GTX 480, 12GB RAM... Thanx much, Wheels |
Try Googling other download locations like http://www.softpedia.com/get/Securit...-Sweeper.shtml
Drivercleaner is a similar program. |

I have a GTX480. It runs the game with no issues. I don't have a config file for you, but i can't see it helping anyway. All my settings are default settings through the GUI.

Sure a fresh install may be a good thing to do, but not because you change your gfx card. |
I have 2 gtx480's and ctd on numerous occasions. I crash only when I'm in the menu's which is kind of weird! What happens is because I just got it yesterday. I'm still messing with my controls and have to exit out to the menu and when trying to make a change it ctd at times. Not one ctd during game play. My nvida cp is set to default for the game also, except for my global settings. Not sure if it's an sli issue or what. The game runs smooth at 2560/1600 every things medium except textures{high}. So far I pretty happy considering the troubles the first release{Europe} went through for our delayed usa launch.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing my drivers, game, and deleting the shaders cache and the game still crashes after I start the Launcher.exe. Sometimes I get a black screen and sometimes I get the windows pop-up 'this program has stopped working'
This is the only game I've had any issues with. I'm running Windows Vista, x64 bit i7 processor 6GB Ram and I recently put in a GTX480 and my old sound card: GTX480 Sound Blaster Xfi I was running 2 GTS 250s in SLI |

I've also tried switching from full screen to windowed and the game still crashes. |
I've heard Steam{if that's where you got it} changes the game properties on it's own. It changes the compatibility to win xp SP3 on it's own{not always} on a win 7 machine. I am assuming you have win 7. I don't know if this happened but it's worth a check anyways.

What are your render settings in your config file? Should be Render D3D10.
|
Try re-installing the game. You can backup first in steam, delete the local content, manually delete the 1C folder in My Docs and then re-install.
480 runs the game pretty well - they are powerful cards, just very hot! |

The Nvidia driver package does an uninstall of the old drivers by itself. Never had a problem with that for quite a while now.
|
I used driversweeper and re-installed nvidia drivers for the card. I also tried re-installing an older driver version, but no luck.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the game, and I have deleted the 1C softclub folder, but I am not having any luck launching the game at all. |

I reread your posts and noticed that you have reinstalled your old sound card. Have you downloaded the latest drivers for the sound card? Alternatively, you can temporarily disable your sound card via the control panel and see if it helps. |
Well thanks for your help guys. I'm still not sure exactly what I did to get it to work, but this time when I deleted and re-installed the game, it launched.
Third time is a charm I guess. |
