Correct, I didn't take it in 1944. However, I did take it and I own copyright in it ;).

BigPickle 07-19-2011 01:14 PM

Copyright violation?

Mate did you ask the actor at Duxford to do that pose? Did you tell him it was for the whiners :)

LOL I dunno....reported again for being a smart alec :-P

Sorry this reported stuff has got silly. Yesterday someone reported someone for something stupid so for the last 24hrs everyones been sayin it.

Anyhow I like the captions idea, you could start something here that could be fun. But sadly it'll turn into a flame war no doubt

Lmao, Y'know people accuse us Brits of being stroppy and whinging etc but its always the Brits on this forum that lift the mood, Well 99% of the time anyway unless carguy is a brit of course, That guy has no humour.
We better had lift the mood with humour anyway cos if theres no patch then they'll be plenty of Yanks in here with toys out of the pram.

Not so much a caption, but how about ... "Pilot demonstrates visual scan technique for flying Skyraiders in close formation"?

PPP

Sternjaeger II 07-19-2011 03:24 PM

that is likely to have been taken in Duxford.

The propeller of the Mustang is a postwar one, flat paddle blade and uncuffed.

Uh, not to mention that the guy is wearing an Airborne jump uniform with Mae West ;)

As for the line "Johnny wasn't too impressed when the new crew chief presented him with the servicing bill" or "Man, please tell me I didn't forget to turn my guncamera on.."

lensman1945 07-19-2011 03:42 PM

"..jeeeze!..that's the third time this week I walked into the prop..wish they would fix that sound bug!

" I knew we should have placed that bouncing altimeter in the instrument panel, now will get the US players saying it's not Historically accurate and don't even mention that bulkhead screw 4mm out of place!"

Well, in the interests of open communication (;)), yes you were right. Well done.

I didn't ask the actor to pose. It was a hot day and he was clearly tired just standing there keeping flight line visitors' grubby hands of the Mustang. Just snapped the shot as soon as I saw him cover his face. Nice result I think!
