The Ultimate COD Rig

Ive been busy upgrading my beast.... waiting patiently for COD to be sorted..

http://w7sq5a.blu.livefilestore.com/...659.JPG?psid=1

The ultimate gaming rig has had another upgrade while I wait for COD to get sorted!
Installed an Aquaero 5 XT controller with 6 slave controllers and a bunch of sensors.

Have to say this was the most fun I have had playing with water cooling!!
I have setup "target temp" controls to adjust the various fans based on each loops water temp. Also for the internal air temp, and Fan Amp temps.
Running up on the bench to work out the configuration.

I have the RGB led installed replacing the Power led so I get another quick visual clue to whats going on. Green for below operating temp, blue for normal temp and red for overheating.

Remounting the waterblock with METAL screws and insulators to tighten up the mount. The included plastic screws felt too flimsy and left the block a little floppy.

Installed the PA2s with an old Ram fan to cool PA2 heatsinks. Works remarkably well dropping Poweramp temps by 20c! Of course controlled by a PA2, to ramp up with a target temp 70c with a virtual sensor i set up for the PA2 Fan Amp temps

Overview page of my config in Aquasuite 2012.
A couple of the fans generate a dirty RPM signal below 6v but it doesnt effect the operation as the fans are voltage controlled anyway.

I have the following config now:

Ch2 D5-1 GPU Loop
Ch3 Exhaust Fans
Ch4 D5-2 GPU Loop

PA2's
Ch5 CPU Rad1 Fans
Ch6 CPU Rad2 Fans
Ch7 GPU Rad1 Fans
Ch8 GPU Rad2 Fans
Ch9 D5-1 CPU Loop
Ch10 D5-2 CPU Loop

Flowmeter 1 CPU Loop
Flowmeter 8 GPU Loop

Temp Sensors
T15 Ambient Air Temp
T13 Rad Air In Temp
T7 Internal Air Temp
T14 Rad Air Out Temp

T1 CPU Water in
T2 CPU Water out
T3 CPU Water Res out
T4 GPU Water in
T5 GPU Water out
T6 GPU Water Res out

Nice box.

ATAG_Dutch 05-31-2011 04:38 PM

Very impressive.

Does it also keep beer and vegetables cool? :)

Seriously though, 25-30 fps on that system? I get that on mine in an over water mission!?!?

Not with 3 monitors, I hasten to add.

Not married with kids then, or soon not to be?..............................

=XIII=Shea 05-31-2011 06:15 PM

Those fps,s are not great at all,Clod just has a badly optimised game engine, waste of time upgrading until the game is fixed:(

Insuber 05-31-2011 06:37 PM

Strike 05-31-2011 08:21 PM

insane rig, this has to be some serious compensation for something.

The best part of it all - you have completely sacrificed the outside world by turning your huge window into the background of your gaming nest.

In-f***ing-sane...

Your PC is probably among the top 3 contributors to global warming.

If he were walking by, even Churck Norris would hesitate for a split second.

Rattlehead 05-31-2011 08:29 PM

What case is that?

jcenzano 05-31-2011 08:30 PM

If you are thinking someday on giving your machine away (for free), don´t count on my.

THAT THING DOES NOT FIT IN ANY OF MY ROOMS...:-P

Rolltide88 05-31-2011 08:47 PM

And I play the game flawlessly on an iMac pulling 250 Watts. Also my office stays about 74 degrees. I tend to like my temp on the cool side.

SlipBall 05-31-2011 09:25 PM

Expect a visit from the Green Police!!!!

Herbs107 05-31-2011 10:22 PM

"HAL 9000"....Good morning FS~Phat.

Danelov 05-31-2011 10:29 PM

Nice rig. Congratulations you have the right hardware for the minimum requirements for the next 4th Patch update of COD.

Not with 3 monitors, I hasten to add.

Thats with max everything except textures on high with an old beta patch before crossfire was working, and recording takes a bunch of FPS away as well.

With the beta before the last official patch when they got crossfire working, I was getting 74FPS avg and 174FPS max on black death with no stutter and pretty smooth over london.
Over water I generally get 120FPS+ consistently.

The latest patch has screwed up with a few big stutters back and 40% drop in FPS.

Interesting idea-" 1 x 8800Ultra nvidia for physx ". How is that working out? Is there a lot of software that take advantage of this combination?

I'd need a second PSU to do this....hm...

Only two questions

Hi. I was wondering:
1) Are you an American?
2) Wouldn't you be better off paying for flying lessons?

Also, an observation:
1) It is just a game you know.;)

Don't get me wrong- I like a little overengineering myself. I would have been tempted to build mine from scratch, however. Buy a CNC machining thingamy and let fly.

Yes probably
and Yes I know its just a game but system building is a hobby in itself!
Its like the modern age version of shoe horning an over sized v8 into a corolla!
