He might be referring to those awful CloD textures used in airstrips.

I don´t know what you mean exactly... If you are playing a quick mission make sure you set, at least, 1 plane in the list on number of planes (your plane).

If you speak Spanish: No sé a qué te refieres exactamente... Si estás jugando en una misión rápida, comprueba que, al menos, has selccionado 1 avión en la lista de número de aviones (el tuyo)

Sorry I speak french, what I mean exactly is that I cant see the grass, and everything is on or maximised in the video setting.

I too run on W7 64 with a g-card that handles dx11.
I tried switching Render=D3D10_0 to Render=D3D11_0 but the grass looked like shit so turned it back.
In other words try "Render=D3D10_0".

Thx Vengeanze, I willl change my conf.ini it was at d3d9_0

CharveL 05-27-2011 10:00 PM

Dx11 is not implemented in this sim.

alexhfckr 05-28-2011 05:23 PM

Hi I've looked everywhere in the conf.ini for the line Render= X, but it doesnt seem to be there? Is this line somewhere else?

There are config files in the Steam folder where your game is installed, but also in the 'My Documents' folder under 'Users'. To be more precise - Local Disk (C: )/Users/then your user name/My Documents/1C SoftClub/il2-sturmovik cliffs of dover/conf/then 'Render=...' will be under the [window] heading.

On the first mission I built that starts on the ground I was amazed to see that my airfield was covered harvest-ready wheat. Really killed FPS on the ground from external view...so I turned grass off.

Crazy...

You need to fly close to the ground to see the grass...

If I turn grass off then I can't see the friggin landingstrip...so it's a must for me unfortunately.

You have to set either "Land shading" or "Land detail" to - at least - "Medium" to see the landing strip -- it was discussed in another thread here...

Flanker35M 05-28-2011 09:11 PM

S!

The ground textures are like sprite graphics from Commodore 64 almost. Like something low resolution texture slapped as ground. Grass helps to cover this but hits the FPS and only shows within the "Ring of LOD" around your plane at low alt.

Missed that thread. Thanks. You just might have saved me some frames there. :-D
