Why did you mess up the lighting ?
Why?:(
This was one of the two best things in the game. I loved the natural colors of the sunset and sun rise. Why did you throw that pink all over everything? I just don't understand. Twh things in this game were perfect. The cockpits and the sun set colors. Was it because of the complains about the landscape colors? If so, why didn't you adjust the colors of those landscape textures instead of throwing a bucket of pink over everything? It looks so bloody cheap.:( Like some cheap console game that just paints the sky pink and calls it sunset. It was perfect. Why ruin something perfect? Fix the textures of the landscape don't ruin one of the very few excelent features of the game.:( This is pissing me off. I finally got all the parts in and put my computer togheter and when I install the game, for the first time after the new "fix", what do I find? A messy pink hue over everything that totally ruined the beautiful natural orange sunsets. This is very poor job guys. I like this game, but looks like you are just trying to kill all the interest people have in it.:( |

have you checked your monitor colour settings and graphics card colouring settings. btw its a fact that theres not as much red balance with the new lighting applied in v14550 |

Completely agree. And all for that people claiming for the unrealistic WOP color. Go play consoles! Damn. Return the good lighting please! |
Interesting. :!:

I didn't complained about something that should be done, is not in game, or is broken. I complain about something that was perfect and it was completely messed up!!!! It doesn't matter what you think is important and what you think should be fixed first. The thing is that they destroyed one of the few things that were outstandin in the game for no reason. Is this how the morings look in your area? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/Untitled.jpg |
Cry me a river...The point is that other things are more important. I live in Southern California so yes, occasionally you see sunrises and sunsets like this. This isnt FSX with the REX add-on, you cant have dynamic skies for different looks all the time. No matter what not everyone will be happy with a given look and personally I could give a shit less what the sky looks like until the other huge technical issues are sorted. This little niggling detail you bring up can probably be fixed in 2 minutes by the devs, if they care to bother with it. Give me pink, purple, bright ass green skies for all I care, but fixing the AA, Crossfire and sound issues for many people should be first priority. After that give us more content, and perhaps when all this is done then you can have your "perfect" skies back, maybe.

This is not about what needs fixing. Go whine somwhere else about things you want fixed. This is about something that they should not have touched! I think they tried to make the ground textures look less bright and instead of doing it the propper way, by adjusting the colors of the actual ground textures, they just moved the hue slider towards red and called it a fix. |

And your original post was so useful, I'm sure the devs will gift you a free copy of CLoD for helping them identify the "pink" skies issue... |

He meant to say "Get a LIVE dickhead" as opposed to that sorry thing that your holding right now. (no offense) BTW I've lived in socal for a long time and I honestly don't remember sunsets/sunrises quite that pink. Maybe the devs can adjust it back the way it was. |

Color balance was almost fine before, except glass tint, which made everything slightly too yellow from inside cockpit. Now everything has too much pink.

Luthier,
This looks pretty good actually but is it possible to replicate the magnifying effect of the earths' atmosphere on the visual size of the sun as it descends/rises? eg: http://www.silvaphotographics.com/im...unset1_big.jpg That would be a first in flight sims afaik. The colours in your update look fine to me, from what I've read there's usually a lot of haze in that region during summer and it sometimes does take on a pinkish hue at dawn/dusk. |

Never trust any photo you didn´t shot yourself... ;)
But I tend to agree that a sunrise high in the atmosphere looks very different to the ones you see on the ground and they sometime can be really surreal. I personally would prefer an inch more orange and less pink, but I also like how it is done now and there are issues which should be dealt with more urgently. |

That image actually has a lot more orange hue than the game right now. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3647/...64468e4995.jpg |
i found the previous lightening also more convincing than the new one.in my opinion there is too less light on midday and the sunset looks two pink now.
dont know why they messed up the one thing that was perfect in my view. |
nice step forward making pink skies, more art and less everyday stuff
plz dont get mad with me i like pink purple skies :) so im gald the y made it pink, now if the could add it some electric blue and purple edit: also plz make nicer stars from up in clean air you can clearly see the milky way :) edit: i past the last 10 years studying nautics the only and exclusive reason why i did this was seeing nice stars while sailing best place to see stars from the dark sea :) i feel a bit disapointed with those just spots in the sky |
OMG! he's at it again.. (jankers.. permanently).

yeah sorry gone a little ot with that videoclip though it was on pink skyes, deleted
but well would you call this unrealistic? http://www.stormgrounds.com/media/Pink-Sky-Sunset.jpg http://www.imagekandi.com/photo/imag...-Palisades.jpg http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...66_S0ZtGkS28zP http://www.rocky.edu/academics/progr...herPinkSky.jpg |
ive been thinking that in our domain of pc games and the quest for reality sometimes real life is boring & quite repetative in that respect. 1C and there design of there ww2 title simply want to stylise it in there own way. if every simulation was hell bent on realism at every single level it would all look the same. and thats not what they want or I. It is what it is. the OP suggests there is somthing wrong but this is incorrect. its very very right in my eyes along with some necessary stylisation.

Britain and pretty much all of Europe during the first half of the 20th Century were burning coal (yes, even in the summer). Add the fact that this was an especially dry summer/fall and you have lots of particles (dust, sand, coal) in the air. When you have a high particle density in the air during a sunrise or sunset you get a reddish/pinkish colour. People in smoggy areas will confirm this.
Now CloD doesn't have dynamic weather, so they cannot have multiple sunset variations depending on season and particle counts for that day/week, so all the sunrises and sunsets are going to look similar. From what I can see, the pink is accurate. |
just went to try some skinning out today. and now im in complete agreement. i dont like the new lighting. the colour balance is good but the gamma or general light everywhere is wickedly bright at times. it seems to have even less contrast bright to dark than it did before. it felt more vibrant previously. before the change the rivetts and panel details were semi hidden now there out there far to visible without any way to really tone them down. i enjoyed bringing that detail out myself through the skin.
|
maybe you are right, as you have certainly more knowledge about lighening than me, but my impression is the complete opposite. for me it seems that everything is too dark now.
