I have a complaint, in that I think the excellent announcement banner at the head of this thread would have made a great looking launch screen for the sim itself, no offense to the current ones but this image has a wonderful modern feel to it and would be great to look at during the loading sequence.
Seriously though many thanks to TD for your great and tireless efforts. |

Up and running fine, been trying to figure out the U2 bombsight thingee, it dosnt atake inputs for height or speed just angle forward. So at 1000m at 110 kph with 4 fab 50 i cant seem to hit anything, have tried it with all the way back and all the way forward, is there a guide anywhere. Also noticed the u2 lnb dosn thave skis but u2 does, quite fun so far. Thanks for the new entertainment it is quite good indeed.

Runway lights, have they changed?
Just made a mission with runway lights set to red player, field is entirely scratch built using taxi long plates. Lights are staying on all the time, is this due to the no actual airfield or has anything changed in fmb regarding lights?

U-2 cargo question??
When dropping the parachute cargo pods it appears they need time to open the parachute, anything lower than 50 meters enters the ground like a torpedo, so obviously a higher drop altitude, had no issues with 100kph at 200m etc.
When dropping the low altitude pods without a parachute i got a 2 sec delay to arm when i pressed tab. so in my trials i have found that a 10m or lower drop altitude results in a torpedo like entry into the ground, no cargo broke message, 50m altitude works some of the time, but mostly i get a pod broken message. also tried 65m at 60-70 kph and they seemed to work about 60% of the time. anyone have any data to share on these, seems they are modeled kind of like torpedoes, might fail or break hitting the ground. Quite fun so far. |

Excellent simulator. I like IL-2. After a long time I installed the game and downloaded all the patches up to 4.13.2. Great. Much more better than before somewhere 4.09. Really. You are doing a great job. Just do you know what is the end of fight 4 AI friends against 4 AI enemies? Very often 0-4. The worst AI behavior of friends and deadly accurate AI behavior of enemies ever. :grin: |

U2 rear gunner and cluster bomblet questions
Just noticing the rear gunner on the U2 LNB has very little side traverse available, i would think that the gunner could traverse at least to almost the end of the wings so as to strafe ground targets??
PTAB vs AO 2.5 bomblets, PTAB is anti armor but is AO 2.5 a general purpose cluster munition or just not as effective on armor?? |
AO is a fragmentation warhead, should be effective against "soft" targets.

U2 bayonet charge

U2 set to attack a truck convoy, instead makes a UUURRAHH bayonet charge. this is with gatk icon linked to truck convoy.

Maybe late on this. Patched up my Steam version of the game to 4.13.3. Non-modded. Start scanning for the new flyables and to my surprise, there is a Ju-88 P-1 is in the quick mission builder. SMP. That can't be true. Heard it was development. Never saw it listed as flyable in the last couple of patches. Don't believe me look if you don't know this already. Have not seen it mentioned here on any posts or threads. Like I said I could be late on this. And a big thank you to TD on this.

G2 became ABSOLUTELY useless :it flies as superheavy bomber -hard to take off even empty, no maneuroablity. and no adequate bombs load. So it is not bomber and it is not fighter. Even as ground attack it is not adequate as explodes after first hit. Now i can not outrun heavy planes like il2,or light bombers.

well... what i can say... we are not a wizard to fix everything ...
AI have no changes from 4.13rc04 ( or even from 4.12 ) AI planes fly and attact just like in previous patch ... i can't say that in new patch it became worse ... but and and fixes in new patch we didn't have too ... to rework or fix AI need at least one programmer with free hands ... which we don't have .. may be you know any good programmer to make this task? btw ... obsessed with u-2 only me ... it was my dream and a spend alot of stuff to make it real ... so blame only me ... and excuse me ... |

Is there a 413.4 Patch for Dedicated servers? If there is would you please post a link to it, I saw the 413.4 page with the links but, nothing for the dedicated servers and it is locked so, no posting there...
I really want to turn the new skin sizes off, way too much bandwidth for my servers. If 10 people are in the game and one guy joins with the 3 meg skin, that is 30 megs of data to be sent to all the players for just one skin. Also, how will that be turned off and on in a dedicated server? Some settings should be in the "server.cmd" file but, mine has never had anything in it, I change settings on HL only. And, I love the new U-2 planes but, on my servers when someone picks one to fly, they lock up and have to go to the offline game to get out of the U-2 plane and in another one to get back in my online server. I don't know if it is a skin problem or if the plane name does not match the names in the server planes name list... Last thing, would someone post a link to the page where there is a wish list for things we would like to see in future patches or report problems before the next patch comes out. I know many here are not fans of 'Fun for All' servers but, they have been on a long time and many new people have thanked me over the years for having a place to get started before they moved on to servers with much harder settings. I would be happy to help test things for online dedicated servers as long as it still works with CRT on. Thank you for all of the updates since I started with my first 408 server! -=-=-=- Added 12 hours later: The U-2 problems on Dedicated servers are fixed with the 413.4 patch! Thank you!!! He-111 H-16 Bombsight Issue
There appears to be an issue with the bombsight in the He-111H-16.
When I try to increase/decrease bombsight elevation, the bombsight moves diagonally not up and down. Works ok if I am flying plane by myself and switch to bombardier. Works like above if someone else is flying plane and I am bombing. |
i enjoy very much the r5 and the u2 in the ground attack missions. Thanks TD for this and i am waiting the mbr2 in the next patch. Let's hunt german subs :)
