Anyone know japanese?

Gents ... Anyone know Japanese? ... Who can translate whole list of gauges on panel?

Buren 08-09-2015 09:32 PM

I don't really know japanese, although I can recognize some stuff, that's all.

Search for "零式輸送機22型" here.
http://gunsight.jp/c/cockpit-3D.htm

Specifically for this image:
http://gunsight.jp/c/image3/type0trn-mod22-s.jpg

There's nothing there in higher resolution, unfortunately.

Maybe you can deduce the instruments, compare them to other jap. aircraft already made and ingame.

If anybody is wondering, the panel in the magazine scan is the L2D's [licensed jap. C-47 copy] (type 22 variant).

Sita,

I've just reached out to a workmate who has a Japanese wife. Seeing if he or she can translate.

While I'm always happy to see more flyable planes, I'm really hoping that the other DC-3 variants will also be made flyable.

My first choice would be the Li-2, since it was used in every role that the C-47 was, plus many more. And, due to the nature of the war on the Eastern Front, it saw a lot more combat action.

Tinpanzer87 08-12-2015 02:59 PM

Cool maybe the ju-52 next?

I'm Japanese. I can read this.
But I can't speak English well. (And, I'm drinking beer now.) Sorry my poor English.

For all the cargo aircraft in the game, that's my first choice for a flyable.

Used in combat from 1936-45, often in combat, sometimes used as a bomber. Served in every theater where the Nazis fought. The "starring" plane in many critical battles (paratroop landings on Denmark/Norway, Eben Emal/Belgium, Crete, Cap Bon/North Africa, attempted relief of Stalingrad). Trimotor layout, which would make it really interesting to fly.

Sita 08-13-2015 07:14 AM

for now situation is following ...

we have finished Li2 pits and from it we could do LD2 with no big issues ... because information about it is really limited by one Maru book ... it will be even easier than make from those pits DC-3 or C-47 ... because i don't think that some one can find all Lables and technician tables from that pit ...
so from most of that labels which now present in Li2 pit we must refuse ...

For C-47 from Li2 pit will be more difficult ...

plus i'm now specialist in foreing for me Planes ...

About Ju-52 ... yeah .. i interested in that plane too ... but like i said before ... i'm not spec in DE or US planes ...

Great to hear that the Li-2 cockpit has already been made!

I can easily get access to the cockpit and interior of a real-life C-47A Skytrain warbird (dropped paratroops on D-Day) if you want photos. Send me a PM if you're interested and tell me what you need.

Since the C-47 was unarmed, it would be the easiest of the three DC-3 variants to make flyable in the game. No gunner stations to animate.

and
http://gunsight.jp/c/index.htm

This person is studying Japanese WWII air plane's cockpit panel.
He's selling the research result as 3D-CG.
When informing what to use that and paying money, maybe you can get high-resolution material. Probably.

That might make sense. One clock is set to Zulu time, the other is set to local.

Or, one is set to local time and the other is a stopwatch or "time of flight" counter. That would be handy for dead-reckoning navigation if there isn't a dedicated navigator station.

FWIW, here's an interesting site for aircraft clocks. You'll notice that some of the WW2 era gauges have inset time of flight counters.

I can write more many ones by guess. But some of characters doesn't match my expectation for those.

There are 3 notices.

1.There is also something written by my guess.
So some of characters may be different from the real things.
Some of "can't read" are the word by which I think it was right from the shape of the gauge was written.

2.Maybe you notice.
Several gauges are different from this explanation.
http://s7.hostingkartinok.com/upload...88d9c528a6.jpg
I think there is some inaccurate part for the explanation picture shown first.

3.I made some mistake.
I wrote some wrong characters in the last picture. Therefore those were corrected. Attention to red triangles.
Many characters of Japanese are changed in about 1946 to 1950.
I have written the modern characters before. Today, I used old characters.

major.kudo 09-22-2015 02:49 AM

1 Attachment(s)
I noticed another. I'm sorry for my mistakes.

I knew today the 5th character to have been changed during about 70 years.
I think this font is also near the real thing, too.

yes ... it's because that panel from Tess = DC2 ... not DC3 Teddy ... but DC2 and DC3 like native brothers so i think gauges and name plate for it are same ...

Sita 10-08-2015 03:48 PM

https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/1615...2736b_XXXL.jpg

another scheme ...

major.kudo 10-10-2015 01:34 AM

This is an interesting picture again.

...I'll synthesize and think information on the picture checked so far.
Then there is two type of fuel level gauge as the big difference.

A. Round and small fuel level gauge. Fuel tank switching lever is put at different place.
B. Tank switching lever and fuel level gauge included together in large square panel.

Sita, Are you thinking which to use?

Sita 10-10-2015 08:02 AM

i think Variant A ... because on pict from Maru book we can see two small round gauge ... - fuel indicator and fuel tank selector ....

that Big B/W photo of pilot panel is from Tess ... so i think need work with scheme from Teddy ...

Sita 10-15-2015 07:58 PM

once again i want ask for the help ....

from that scheme

i need 31 and 32 position ...

would be really great if someone have seen some of that gauges ...

Sita 10-15-2015 08:40 PM

ok ... i think i found 31 - fuel gauge ...

https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/5818...2768a_orig.jpg

but i still don't have any good pict of fuel tank selector ....

oh ... almost forgot ... number 3 on scheme ... what is it could be? how it looks like?

i think all is correct ... but like i said before ... we still missing fuel reading selector ...

and all fo that ... it's only half of issue ... next big issue is two electrical panels in front upper part of pit .... with Magneto selector for two engines ...

plus ... in Li2 i have alot name plate on Russian ... at now i think i'll delete most of it ... or may be just erase any letters on it ... because it can't be translate to Japanese in correct way .... because at first it need translate to English ...and after it translate to Japanese .. to many chance to make a wrong transation ...

This might help as there's some signs of original internal colour scheme.

Cockpit paint color.
I think the A31 is nearest.

Or

This is paint for plastic injection model.
Find "C127"
Several L2D were made by NAKAJIMA AIRCRAFT.

But in Japanese navy, the color of the paint depends on a production factory.
So I can't say "C127 is right" clearly.
