IDK for a while.

I'm just afraid that mods can mess my game.Guess I'm going to wait for the final patch to come to go to mods...

You can have multiple completely independant installations of the sim. If you mess up one of them, the others are not affected.

That's actually what many players have, a clean install and a couple of modded ones.

Heh, you could say that. I have 7 (installations) currently. Peak has been 9 ;)

I've been using them ever since they came out so... yes!

I can't believe we are still having this discussion......

Regardless to what some may think the mods have been the best thing that happened to this sim... I don't think there would be a TD if not for the mods. Yes... it hassomewhat fractured the community to an extent.. but I don't think this sim would be as vital as it is today were it not for the mods. The fact that you can still fly stock and people do is a testament to that.

NO!

there is no problem getting mods to work ... currently ...

patch to 4.09m .. get UP 2.01 ( includes most proven mods ) .. use UP Updater to get 4.10 and 4.101

easy to switch between 4.09m .. 4.10 and 4.101

if something breaks .. run UP Updater .. checks all files and fixes ..

just stay away from individual mods unless you know what you are doing .. otherwise it is easy ..

I have only one installation now ..

not sure how it will change for UP 3.0 .. but I think only 4.09m is going away .. and it will require a new clean install to 4.101 before installing UP ..

That is ridiculous. Know what you are talking about before you start to talk about things you obviously know nothing about.

There is no need to have multiple installs. SAS modact 3.02 will allow you to launch (via its new executable start menu) modded or unmodded versions from the same install folder without having to strip out mods using JSGME as with UP2. The same feature will be part of UP3 as both these modpacks are evolving to become more intergrated with each other and with Vanilla.

SAS Modact requires you to manually install maps, certain mods and AC so some will prefer to wait for UP3.

Reading between the lines there seems to be 'hints' that cockpit shadows have been discussed and may (at some time) be available for some cockpits (not all). I get the impression that work on this may be underway but its all very much 'reading between the lines' in the mod forums.

The two mods I would really like to see are AI not seeing through clouds and AI rear gunner accuracy dumbed down a tad!

Just follow the directions for installing mods. It's easy! Be sure to back up everything.

Mods rule ...

this is what makes the PC superior over those consoles.
Mods for Oblivion, Fallout 3, Silent Hunter, Il2 Sturmovic they all make those games a lot more fun to play.

many thanks to all those talented modders out there.
