Thanks for the server, tried it yesterday but had major issues.
Choose red, and every time i spawned my plane would blow up or get turned upside-down. Tried 5 or 6 times, using different spawn points and different planes. I gave up in the end and left the server. |

Ataros what settings you running your card at, I do not see the ATI blue lines on your screenshots?

i like the server and i play on it but i experience alot of netlagg (warping) from other planes they jump around alot so shooting something down is very hard my Ping is good always under 60ms
and its the only server i get it on. its a shame as i love the maps it play |

We had to reduce number of aircrafts in missions by about 30-40% and increased time between missions to reduce load both on network and processing power. The new version is up already. Please try it. Looks like we have found a temporary solution to performance issues in our mission. Repka #1 server will be restarted within 15 minutes with a new version.

Removed map-icons for better immersion. We have to leave externals on for troubleshooting purposes for testing period and to let novice pilots to get accustomed to the map a bit. I have seen some pilots having difficult time trying to find directions. We all started there. Sorry for any inconvenience ext.views may cause.
We set the server to restart every 4 hours to avoid lag. Please get back after restart quickly as restart takes only 1-2 minutes unless we manually update mission files. Then it can take 3-4 minutes. Thanks for flying! There were 20-30 people on the server yesterday night before we got a repeating server error. Sorry, I was not there to restart it at that time. Please note: a mission can take 1-2 minutes to load. Be patient please. It is worth it )) . |

Hi Ataros,
two of us tried to use the server last night but there is still persistent blowing up when spawning. We had to give up in the end :( It seems to be either an altitude thing (the a/c lurches around before blowing up) or the fact that these are usually in small shed-shaped brick buildings, not like hangars, and may just be bouncing off the walls when they try to spawn with a wing poking through the wall. I'd like to know if you have found a way of fixing specific spawn points for a/c or if you are only using Spawn Areas. With Spawn Areas in my missions we have no problem spawning except when we spawn in one of those small curved-roof hangars (there are some at Hawkinge) where the door openings are too small to get through (!) so we just create another a/c but at least they don't blow up. When I set actual Aircaft on the runway for takeoff (with waypoints) all the aircraft spawn in exactly the same place off the runway and if we don't taxi off the spawn point the next spawn blows us up so its a slow process getting a few guys off, especially with the engine warm up periods. If you know any ways round this I'd appreciate it. |

Could you please report names of airfields with screenshots of troubled hungars. I'll pass them on to developers. Big hangars were fixed in the last beta based on our reports.
I noticed this issue only at Kokel airfield for Bf-109 and Markiz airfield for Blenheims and Baufighters when spawn at caponiers in my mission. I will fix Kokel tomorrow by placing a new airfield object on top of the old airfield and moving spawnpoint closer to the center of new airfield. If you do not place a runway aircraft spawn on internal airfield radius. When runway is placed they spawn at external radius if no "airfield points" are placed. Airfield points are bagged as far as I understand, I usually do not use them. Adjust external and internal radius of new airfields to prevent the circles from crossing hangars, buildings or rough terrain. upd. See mission with Kokel fixed attached. |

Had a wierd experience last night, logged in and was 1 of only 3 on the server.. spawned a Spitfire at an RAF field nearest the coast and the battle line.. lots of flak going on at the time.. when I first spawned in the fps was going from 2 to 62 did that for about 20 seconds then I exited and created a new plane...same field.. spawned and it worked fine..smooth and no stutters.. don't know if it was communication related or graphics..

Probably the 1st time all the scenery was loading into vram from your harddrive. It takes some time. It is useful to switch to external views and then to several planes to have most of resources loaded into ram and vram before takeoff.
2 fps probably mean harddrive excess. Do you defrag your game files after each patch? I use gamebooster to do this. Works better than steam defrag for me. |
Nice server with plenty of AI to shoot at if theres not so many players in the server. However, its on a 24 hour cycle and its pointless to play when it gets dark...

Taking off is a bit of a challenge too. Sometimes you blow your tires before you get off the ground. You gotta yank her up before she wants to fly and just hope she stays up for you. Also not having a AI tailgunner kinda sucks right now, although it's been my experience that the AI TG ain't worth a dang. So I just fly with the rear gun empty now and hope that I get a slight performance boost from it. |

One thing i'm loving is the scale and the activeness of the server i.e the AI flights etc i had a lot of fun just running a patrol route from point A to point B and seeing what i came across majority of the time it was AI but it kept me interested and looking around to see what was coming when i did decide to dip into a bit of low level blasting around the 109 base at D3, it was very exciting always had to keep an eye out as what seemed like a small skirmish between 2 spits and a 109 to begin with could very quickly turn into a massive furball as more and more aircraft joined in that didn't spot entered the fight.
Only Downside i had was due to known issues currently i.e sound and the odd lag jitter but nothing that lasted long enough to be considered as anything more than a hiccup. Many thanks for the server and will see you again. S! |

Spent a couple of hours at your REPKA server, I am sorry I can't recall which of the three it was (was full real, blue and red in France), it was the one with most players online at that moment.
I do not know whether it was thanks to my new Ramdrive setup but it was a great server, no lag, no problems (constant fps > 55) flying non stop for so much time. Maybe it should have some more Blue bombers attacking? I saw at least six groups of two Wellington each, attacking whereas I think only one JU-88 group of two and one group of four JU-87 went out (I can be wrong of course). What I found very annoying is that I could not correctly assess the dots' distance, I saw somebody posted it today as a bug in the forum - very annoying. Excellent server, I am looking forward to see how it goes when 40-60 pilots are online! ~S~ |

Managed to connect to Repka 1 but couldn't create a plane after choosing my base, bit later it timed out and all 3 repka servers are gone. |

Please check out Repka #4 server tonight. It is our test server we put up from time to time.
It runs a script form a member of the dev team where tanks move frontline and airfields change their side accordingly. To finetune the mission I need your feedback on the following: - ground battle intensity: should in be reduced or increased - what you like about the mission - what can be added to make things better AI aircraft temporally switched off to test ground war exclusively. Do not take off close to frontline or you could be vulched by a tank. Its nice the REPKA server, I always enter there because I have a good ping there and there's a lot of people, but I would disable the external views and the automatic pilot.

A friend of mine told me that Autopilot helps you when you have a stall, for example. I havent tested it yet

Tell me why people prefer server #3 with externals and small islands map rather than #1 with 'fullreal' settings and the channel map?
I am slowly working on a new mission and wonder if I should concentrate on small islands maps instead of France map. |
I think the people prefer small islands maps because they can see more enemies, and It's more simple

I tried your server the other day and found it nice. IMHO at full realism the France map is too short with most airfield only 1 min of each other. The large map has alot more feel to it aswell. If I could request one thing though it would be adding some targets for the jabo guys on Repka 1, right now there are only ships (which are bugged :/) and flak around the bases to bomb/strafe(either that or i fail to spot the other targets). Would be fun if there were some truck convoys, artillery/tank lines to attack and if possible some static aircraft to add some life to some airbases. |

I am pretty certain that the human eye cannot distinguish the difference of anything above 30fps or thereabout?
Using a three year old laptop, listed below, and settings at 1680x1050/forest off/building amount low/land shading low/grass off/shadows off/roads on/everything else medium. In my nvidia console I have 2xAA 4xAF force vsync set to override application. I get average 33-36fps with high of 60(73 with vsync off) and low of 5 on black death. |

I'm really enjoying the server, but I had a really odd ping problem last night.
The Steam server ping was about ~70ms, but on entering the server properly my ping went up to 370ms. I tried the SYN server with no such effect. No AV or update was running. I pinged and tracerouted your ISP without problems with sensible 70ms results. The effect was repeatable in game. Any ideas? 56RAF_phoenix |
When Steam disconnects everyone experiences lag. Maybe ping is a part of this issue. Try reconnecting in 3-5 minutes when Steam is back.
I am not the server owner and can not tell if there were any issues server side. But in this case we would have more feedback on this here I think. |
First of all congrats for the Repka DS #1 server. :cool:
I am having in every (long) sorties disconnects (timeouts), I generally take off with 100% fuel. Is there any hint/tip that can make me reduce or eliminate the discos? It is very frustrating to be in the air for more than 40 minutes and end up with a disco all the time. :( The timeouts sometimes occur in the first 10/20 minutes of flight too, but they are more frequent in the long run. But I also have the same problem as jg27_mc on Repka 1 server. On Repka 3 or SVAO no problems exept sound. I supose there is something to do with scripts. To confirm that I tried 1 evening on SYN server and I had discos, and evening after that no disco at all ???? Keep up good work :smile: we are all diggin in the dark I guess :) I don't think that I have hardware problems because offline I had few crashes offline in months. |

Players are disconnected when the server looses connection to Steam. To solve the issue please provide bug reports to all appropriate threads. This one is the latest I think http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...nnection+steam And here is my post in it. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...2&postcount=42 Please support it to get it a higher priority on the devs list. Now it is like No. 20 or 30 as no one is interested in solving it besides myself (1 vote only). The messages say "Player is disconnected". The reason you can read in English. I have no information if these disconnects from Steam are linked to bots or processor load (when we have 30+ people flying the 1st core of server processor is loaded at about 80-90%, but other cores are not occupied.) I think you'll know I posted this elsewhere but I was wondering.... I have run my Game as a server, i.e. I start it normally and select Multiplayer... Server....Load a mission... etc and I do NOT start it with the -server in the command line. No-one playing on my 'server' has had the sound problem and my game has not crashed. True, I have only had about 10 people on it up to now, for 2+ hours, with good reports from the players and it's ony live when I choose to do it for my squad mates and any guests that decide to jump in. Is it possible for you to try running your server like that for now until the 'server' bug is fixed? Would that help the sound and crash problem? In the past I used to test my mission this way for 3-4 hours from my home PC and got Steam disconnects in the long run after 22-23.00GMT I do not think this is a solution. BigRepa runs the servers on remote location fully automated with scripts now I think. There is no one who can click buttons there. However if you manage to run your server without disco for 48+ hours please let me know. I will pass the info to BigRepa. |
Could you please use Direct Connect when connecting to Repka servers. There is a chance this may help with timeouts and disconnects.
Please let me know if you experience less disconnects when direct-connected. I will pass this info to BigRepa for further testing. Another important thing. Please do not use custom skins online. They create stutters and can not be switched off server side yet. This especially relates to those who use 5MB+ .bmp skins. |

I'll give the Repka servers a try later tonight. The missions sound great. My only worry is the ping I saw to them last night (why I didn't try them then).

I´d say, don´t trust the showed latency in the serverbrowser, wolverine. It showed a ping of 350 and more, ingame it was a steady 140 oO .
I just took a 109 for a quick spin (first time "full" realism) and i enjoyed the performance of your server. I experienced far less lags than in cs1.6 (server location germany) than on yours. i think you´ll see me more often from now on. So Long Uri |
I've been enjoying playing on the Repka dynamic mission servers on the smaller maps (bombing ships in the Stuka makes for a great change of pace, and the ground/sea battles give everyone a place to congregate for great big furballs) but there's a couple things I'd like to request you change:
First and foremost, it's presently impossible to multi-crew aircraft with friends; I recently wanted to attempt having human-crewed pilot and bomber positions in a Ju-88 with a friend, and was disappointed to discover that this has been disabled. The level bombers are quite hard to use effectively without a full crew, but quite important to actually participating in the ground/sea battles, especially as the allies have no dive bombers. As such, I think having this ability would improve the gameplay for all. Second, it's currently possible to external-view spectate enemy aircraft, allowing them to be found fairly easily. Judging by the lack of map icons, I assume that this is not something you want. Thanks for hosting such enjoyable servers! I hope you'll consider correcting these issues to improve what's already a great place to fly. |

Could you tell me how multi-crew option can be switched on. I think it is on, however I do not fly multi-crew aircraft and know nothing about it. I think I saw yesterday 2 players listed in the same Bf-110 in a score window. We have more relaxed difficulty settings on R3 to make life a bit easier to newcomers especially when only 3-5 people fly on the server. For 'full-realism' settings please join Repka #1 server. On R3 we have external views and friendly icons on. The rest is same as R1. Anthropomorphic control is off as usual. CEM is on as this is an essence of this game. |

It just seems odd that you can spectate enemy aircraft and thereby get a good idea of where they are, as this somewhat counteracts map icons being turned off. I don't really mind much either way, personally, so if that's intentional for whatever reason then great. (edit: I also notice you mentioned that friendly icons are on; is this a recent change? I didn't see any yesterday.) I'll be sure to let the mission author know my appreciation of his efforts. |
