He111 morphing from 4K to ground

I have been test flying the He111 offline. Using full realism settings I set up at take-off and climbed out to 4,000 meters in a He111 with 50 percent fuel and empty weapons/loadout. Then without warning the plane morphed to the ground taking off the left (port) engine and bouncing up about 200 meters before belly-landing.

Almost the same thing happems to Blenheim

AS with the He111. I used FMB to set up a test flight mission for the Blenheim. Startup was on the end of the runway and after climbing out to about 4000 feet the plane blew up in amongst some buildings. No stall. No dive into the ground. Just one moment flying and the next bang.

This is getting frustrating.

I've had a similar experience with the 109...not from such an altitude though.

The plane was running rough and the next thing it magically ported into the ground, blowing up. It was rather a shock to say the least.

I managed to do the same on a Hurricane (Rotol) - and I managed to climb to 3000 feet when I hit the side of a barn.
On a side note I could hear the sound of wheels rolling while airborne and landing gear up.

Guys, please do not hit me but, can it be that somehow you jump into another plane without consiously be aware of it?

Maybe you should try to hift-F2 and check whether your plane is still flying somewhere.

I am saying this because I experiened a sudden "unvolontarily entering another plane" while shifting-F2 and ctrling-F2 on one Quick Mission although I had not pressed Alt-F1.

Just in case...

No I won't hit you. In my test missions there are no other aircraft on the map - so no opportunity to inadvertently swap to another aircraft. Nice suggestion though. Thanks.

Yeah I too forgot to mention I was on full realism settings and there were no other aircraft in the mission which happened to be Cross Country Flight in my case.

Were You guys flying in the Bermuda triangle ? If not, that sound like a huge bug.

This happened to me twice in the Blenheim. But not since two patches ago.

happens to me in the blenheim too, as soon as i hit 1k i smash in to the deck, only does with when i use CEM

Do you really mean 'morphed'?
Defined as "a special effect in motion pictures and animations that changes (or morphs) one image into another through a seamless transition" or do you mean jumped or "warped" (as in Star Trek)

Especially in these early stages where we're all trying to identify issues it's a good idea to record tracks of your missions, also useful for refining your airmanship and gunnery.

Can you reproduce the error? If it was a one-off kind of error it would be very hard for the developers to track down.

Cheers!

No, it's more like a warp effect. In my case, I was flying at around 2000 meters with the engine running rough. The next thing my plane hit the terrain and I blew up. There was no transition or strange animations at all.
It's happened to me at least twice, both times with CEM on.

I suspect the others who are experiencing the same thing also had CEM on at the time.

huckster 04-28-2011 12:37 PM

yup, thats pretty much it, you teleport....and making a track is a no go aswell, that just locks up the game.

|450|Devil 04-28-2011 12:50 PM

Teleported would be the correct description - one moment in the sky the next bouncing off the ground or blowing up on the ground. And I confirm that on each occasion the engines seemed to be running rough.

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte P67A-UD7-83
RAM: 12 GB Corsair DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590
CPU: Intel Core i7 - 2600K CPU @ 3.4Ghz
DirectX: 10

Tell me now that the sky turned black just before and I know: The Bermuda Triangle Effect !!!!! :-O

LOL!

|450|Devil 04-30-2011 09:17 PM

OK - took some tracks and the teleporting only happened when the engines failed due to overheating - so the effect seems tied to the engine failure. When I kept the engines within temperature I was able to climb the aircraft to over 10,000 feet (Blemhein) and 5000 metres (He111H)
