Psn down
Just to let everyone know psn is down in the uk , maybe other countries too . 1 or 2 days to completely fix according to sony . Just making sure no one lobbs their ps3 outta the window in frustration cos they cant sign on
|
hello my friend
same in france bud!rrrrrrrrrrrr.....thx for the new about fix. |
Here in the us I have been having trouble logging on the last few weeks hopefully they will fix that too
|
From the rumours circulating it seems ' anonymous' have been hacking the psn. Parts of the US went down first and it now looks like they are either succeeding or Sony have taken it down to resolve.
The old adage of 'How to win friends and influence people' springs to mind! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfjGR...e_gdata_player |
Bored............!!!! too right ! How perfect that was put...make me chuckle !! :) That definately put a bright lite on a dull day...thanks Mr Gilly Sir.
|
That's it! I've had it... Would all you hackers&politicians get off of my cloud!
Cheers Gilly. Spot on. |
ah ja... german psn is down too... hey ^^ its like the wourlds future... and i know who is hacking it!

Here's what the Sony blog states:
Posted on 21 April by James Gallagher Blog Manager, SCEE As you are no doubt aware, the current emergency outage is continuing this afternoon and all Sony Online Network services remain unavailable. Our support teams are investigating the cause of the problem, including the possibility of targeted behaviour by an outside party. If the reported Network problems are indeed caused by such acts, we would like to once again thank our customers who have borne the brunt of the attack through interrupted service. Our engineers are continuing to work to restore and maintain the services, and we appreciate our customers continued support. For further information, please refer to updates on PlayStation.com, here on PlayStation.Blog and via our @PlayStationEU twitter feed. |
Found a fun thing to do in free flight! Take a hurricane up over Dover, machine guns only, and see how many of the little boats you can explode before dying/getting bored! (Yes, I am easily amused when it comes to exploding things from aeroplanes!)

Yep as PSN withdrawal starts to effect us all.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgeDh...e_gdata_player
I'm a little disappointed that there's no more news which only reinforces the 'hack' theory especially with 'maintenance' being cited as the reason for it. Come on it's Easter and probably one of PSN's busiest time. That would be as insane as deciding to have roadworks during the easter break....... |

I have no line on PSN for maintenance (in Spain) so we will have to watch a movie with the family greetings to all

It was judgement day on Thursday acording to the Sarah Connor Chronicles. I think Skynet took down PSN. It got confused thinking it was the US missile launch control system. We will be cool though cos Arnie has spare time now he is out of a job and will get us back up soon once he deals with the TX360
|
Can you imagine how many of us will be online when this is sorted out? Right now I'm begining to look and feel like Frank Sinatra in "The Man with the Golden Arm", all I need is Kim Novak "maybe her grandaughter".
|
I have visions of millions of pale faced gamers stumbling out into the sunlight cos Psn is down. Like dawn of the dead or something

Here is the past couple of updates from Sony
23rd April An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th. Providing quality entertainment services to our customers and partners is our utmost priority. We are doing all we can to resolve this situation quickly, and we once again thank you for your patience. We will continue to update you promptly as we have additional information to share. 24th April We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security. We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available here is link to playstation europe log for updates http://blog.eu.playstation.com/ there is a link on there for the U.S.A. blog looks more serious than the 1 or 2 days they first thought |

25th April I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time. As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. Will keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience So that would be an update updating us that there is no update available on the update but they will update us when an update is available for the update ????????????????? |

This is going to lead to a nasty international phone bill if we lose patience and play training mode on a 16 spot conference call... well maybe a 12 spot conference call depending on the phone provider's connection.

i´m so sick of this boringness. trainingmode sucks so much cause of the low ai. Either they attack you head on and miss you by 99% or they stumbel in circles in front of you which is easy to follow even if they had a spit under thier ai asses and you got a fw190! it is not compareable to the training you get with other human players. the ai are dolphins and the multiplayer aces are sharks to me. sloughting dolphins isnt right!
to the topic psn: A) if the onlinenetwork isnt fixed until the next week i will be verry unhappy! but i will never by a 360 cause of that. the online mode is not free. this also means to have a shit disigned controller. i cant handle it. not to mention about the layout on this ugly thing. but i think thats exactly what the creator of this psn interruption wants to aim. see how people throw thier ps3s out of the window. B) i remember a message i recieved a few month ogo. someone told me that the psn will not longer be free and we`ll have to pay for using the online network. if this happens ps3 is done for me. |
Thankyou All
Despite the serious nature and implications of this network failure, and all the frusrtation it has caused....I for one would like to say thank you to all those classic one line funnies and movies that have made me laugh and giggle. They deserve a comedy award all to themselves. I am a member of a few Forums and I can say that this one above all embodies a fantastic community spirit bar none.:). The Best of the Best. Its the Brightest light in a otherwise dull world. So thank you once again.

BAD NEWS FROM PLAYSTATION.COM
The latest information on the PlayStation Network service outage. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the current outage of PlayStation Network & Qriocity services. The following email has been sent to all PSN registrants; please read the help and support FAQ for more information. Valued PlayStation Network/Qriocity Customer: We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network. In response to this intrusion, we have: 1) Temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services; 2) Engaged an outside, recognized security firm to conduct a full and complete investigation into what happened; and 3) Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information. We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and goodwill as we do whatever it takes to resolve these issues as quickly and efficiently as practicable. Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state/province, zip or postal code), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity passwords and login and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence that credit card data was taken at this time, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, to be on the safe side we are advising that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may also have been obtained. For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of email, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information. Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security, tax identification or similar number or other personally identifiable information. If you are asked for this information, you can be confident Sony is not the entity asking. When the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored, we strongly recommend that you log on and change your password. Additionally, if you use your PlayStation Network or Qriocity user name or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly recommend that you change them, as well. To protect against possible identity theft or other financial loss, we encourage you to remain vigilant to review your account statements and to monitor your credit or similar types of reports. We thank you for your patience as we complete our investigation of this incident, and we regret any inconvenience. Our teams are working around the clock on this, and services will be restored as soon as possible. Sony takes information protection very seriously and will continue to work to ensure that additional measures are taken to protect personally identifiable information. Providing quality and secure entertainment services to our customers is our utmost priority. Please contact us at uk.playstation.com/psnoutage should you have any additional questions. Sincerely, Sony Network Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment Teams Sony Network Entertainment Europe Limited (formerly known as PlayStation Network Europe Limited) is a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited the data controller for PlayStation Network/Qriocity personal data. NOT A WIND UP WE SHOULD ALL GET THIS IN EMAIL . LOOKS LIKE SECURE PERSONAL INFO HAS GOT OUT . I TRIED TO GET ON THE BLOG BUT IT WAS HAVING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY ( OH THE IRONY ) |

So nice to let us know 6 days down the line that personal data has been compromised. Not exactly the words I'd like to hear from a such a company.
Their sincerity stinks I'm afraid. Not impressed. |
I agree Gilly . They probably turned off the blog as well , unless its overloaded with angry posters
|
Thanks guys. Serious hostile incoming motivates me for countermeasures.
And then I need to know how to log on... |

If you say that to open and look at 1 account takes 10 seconds it would still take about 22 years to look at them all! Did anyone else have weird sign in problems in the week leading up to this? Auto sign in failed first time every time, but I could sign in 2nd attempt. I also got an error when I tried to buy something from PS Store, it kept saying my address was wrong and my card was invalid, (pre switch off, obviously) which makes me wonder how long it was before sony noticed that someone got in. Latest on the official blog
Posted on 27 April by Nick Caplin – Head of Communications, SCEE Clarifying a Few PSN Points We wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today. There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion 19th April and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly yesterday evening. For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more on frequently asked questions Thank you for your continued patience and support Well thanks a lot Sony, you werent sure so you thought we'll wait a few days just to make sure..... horse, stable door and bolted spring to mind. This is turning into a PR nightmare for Sony. From what was a 'When can i play again' community suddenly its now 'where the feck is my data, who's got it and what are they likely to do with it'. Im glad I hadn't updated my Credit Card data when it expired back in February not that gives much comfort. I see actions being brought against Sony should anyone find that during this 'understanding the scope of the breach' they've been robbed. @Winny. I changed my auto- login a while back so that I decide if and when I log in. After the problem last year I changed my setup. As for the store the last purchase I made was on the 15th and had no issues. I do still have credit on there so I would like to know what the current situation is. I did hear a rumour that as part of this hack people did recieve funds into their wallet although I've yet to see anything concrete. That said I think its time for Sony to start a charm offensive to give the 77 million community members some form of tangilble apology for this mess. |

The bit I'm pissed off at is that Sony were storing this stuff un-encrypted... Especially Card numbers and passwords.. Even small online companies encrypt that kind of thing. It'll be interesting to see if they catch whoever did it. |

Catch Me If You Can
I bet they catch and hire them. This has been a real eye opener. We are all vulnerable to an extent. These jokers sent 70 million of us a message. As for Sony they probably will not say much. In there minds this is a complimetary service, and I am sure somewhere in the terms we accept for this service they have washed their hands. Easter time and Pontius Pilot goes hand in hand. I hope it is quickly resolved, lessons are learned, and we can get a better service back. The real pain in all of this so far has been a loss of the friends that gather daily to enjoy the game. Hopefully see you all soon.

I am glad that Sony is not my bank
|
me too!
and i am glad that i have not given any real data from me for my account. everything they want to know from me for the accountcreation was invented. its quite my stragedy in the internet since i was knowing that everything you put in the net today was stored and could be copyed or used by the will of third persons. big brother is watching ^^ |

LATEST FROM SONY
First off, we want to again thank you for your patience. We know that the PlayStation Network and Qriocity outage has been frustrating for you. We know you are upset, and so we are taking steps to make our services safer and more secure than ever before. We sincerely regret any inconvenience or concern this outage has caused, and rest assured that we’re going to get the services back online as quickly as we can. We received a number of questions and comments yesterday and early today relating to the criminal intrusion into our network. We’d like to address some of the most common questions today. We are also going to continue to post updates to this blog with any additional information and insight that we can over the next few days. We are reading your comments. We are listening to your suggestions. Please keep them coming. Thank you. Q: Are you working with law enforcement on this matter? A: Yes, we are currently working with law enforcement on this matter as well as a recognised technology security firm and local law enforcement to conduct a complete investigation. This criminal attack against our system and against our customers is a criminal act and we are proceeding aggressively to find those responsible. Q: Was my personal data encrypted? A: All of the data was protected, and access was restricted both physically and through the perimeter and security of the network. The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken. The personal data table, which is a separate data set, was not encrypted, but was, of course, behind a very sophisticated security system that was breached in a malicious attack. Q: Was my credit card data taken? A: While all credit card information stored in our systems is encrypted and there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained. Keep in mind, however, that your credit card security code (sometimes called a CVC or CSC number) has not been obtained because we never requested it from anyone who has joined the PlayStation Network or Qriocity, and is therefore not stored anywhere in our system. Q: What steps should I take at this point to help protect my personal data? A: For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of email, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information. Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number or other personally identifiable information. To protect against possible identity theft or other financial loss, we encourage you to remain vigilant, to review your account statements and to monitor your statements. Q: What if I don’t know which credit card I’ve got attached to my PlayStation Network account? A: If you’ve added funds to your PlayStation Network wallet in the past, you should have received a confirmation email from “DoNotReply@ac.playstation.net” at the email address associated with your account. This email would have been sent to you immediately after you added the funds, and will contain the first four digits and last four digits of your credit card number. You can also check your previous credit card statements to determine which card was attached to your PlayStation Network or Qriocity accounts. Q: When or how can I change my PlayStation Network password? A: We are working on a new system software update that will require all users to change their password once PlayStation Network is restored. We will provide more details about the new update shortly. Q: Have all PlayStation Network and Qriocity users been notified of the situation? A: In addition to alerting the media and posting information about it on this blog, we have also been sending emails directly to all 77 million registered accounts. It takes a bit of time to send that many emails, and not every email will still be active, but this process has been underway since yesterday. At this time, the majority of emails have been sent and we anticipate that all registered accounts will have received notifications by April 28th. Consumers may also visit uk.playstation.com/psnoutage and www.qriocity.com for notices regarding this issue. In addition, we have taken steps to disseminate information regarding this issue to media outlets so that consumers are informed. Q: What steps is Sony taking to protect my personal data in the future? A: We’ve taken several immediate steps to add protections for your personal data. First, we temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services and, second, we are enhancing security and strengthening our network infrastructure. Moving forward, we are initiating several measures that will significantly enhance all aspects of PlayStation Network’s security and your personal data, including moving our network infrastructure and data center to a new, more secure location, which is already underway. We will provide additional information on these measures shortly. Q: Has Sony identified the party or parties responsible for the PlayStation Network hack and subsequent theft of personal information? A: We are currently conducting a thorough investigation of the situation and are working closely with a recognised technology security firm in order to find those responsible for this criminal act, no matter where in the world they might be located. Q: When will the PlayStation Network and Qriocity be back online? A: Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure. IT SEEMS LIKE AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK THEN UNTIL WE CAN WHEEL OUR MACHINES OUT OF THEIR HANGARS AND ARE CLEARED FOR TAKE OFF |
