Wow, Do 17 !
Here a short presentation of the Dornier Do 17 bomber as it appears in IL-2 CoD:
See the fantastic bomb explosion effects in here as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o74Z4TwavFs Tinus le Roux |

Hello Biltongbru!
Congratulations for your videos as you really show the true potential of the game, even if most of us configurations cannot achieve this quality yet entirely... I would like to know at which airfield did you place the ground views (starting up)? Thanks! JV |
System specs?
|
Biltongbru,
What settings are used? It sure doesn't look nor has the flow as with my system. Stunning movies. C2Q 9550 2x HD 4890OC |

It runs ok but whenever there are explosions and lots of planes/effects then it stutters a bit with fraps also active. Movie is made by recording at 1/4 speed and corrected with movie editor:) |
Make a sticky!
Can sombody please make s sticky with Biltongs videos? There is one with panzers on youtube to.
Exelent again! Viking |
Again well done Tinus very dramatic, How long does it take you to produce one of these videos?
|
I pretty sure he said they are captured at quarter speed to get it that smooth.

Another outstanding clip Tinus! Keep them coming!!
In Oleg's thread (for this clip), he mentions that the clip has original in-game colours. I must say that the colouring in all of your 3 clips, the Wellington bomber, the tanks and now the Dornier 17, looks 100% to me. Oleg says that the reason for the difference in colours/saturation in your clip compared with what we are used to seeing, is the time of the day. I must say, I still feel that the English countryside greens (in the bright midday sun) still look too vivid/garish to me - what do you think? This sim is truly amazing - the "bug" has bitten me again after the stuttering virtually disappeared with the first patch. Regards Rob (from Durb's) |
Yes, they make for impressive targets for me in my Hurricane :)
|
Looks .. awsome. :)
|
I have the game, and I'm impressed every time I see the explosionsand flak, they jsut look that good.
Thanks for the movie Tinus, i really enjoyed watching it. And I look forward to a short clip of the Beaufighter nightfighter over night time London ;) |
Beautiful!
How comes all of a sudden you all are expert movie directors? Where the hell did you learn? |
how he was able to get an antiallising like this:confused:
good video though:-) |

The airfield used was the coastal one named Manstel in England.:) |

It takes many hours to produce a video like this. The average shot length is about 1.5-2 seconds. For a 3min movie this ad up to nearly 100 cuts. Every shot is like a seperate well prepared screenshot where you must take into account all kinds of cinematographic factors like composition, continuity, lighting, zoom, camera angle etc. All the image material are from specially built "missions" with the FMB. This takes time. Then you must play the "missions" and do screen capture at the correct moment at the correct cam position. This takes a lot of time. Then editing...only about 10% of of all produced footage are used in the final product...this take plenty time. I would say about 20-30 minutes average for a proper 2 second clip x 100 and you end up with almost 40-50 hours production time. :) |

The FMB setting for the Do-17 movie was 5:30 am and the colours are more true (my opinion) and used only about 25% desaturation. The Wellington movie was done at midday and used about 40-50% desaturation. Oleg did mention some of this in his thread of this movie on this forum. There are many hidden gems of this sim yet to be discovered! Regards Tinus (Cape Town) |

for demonstrating Do-17s, it is rather fun to use an english airfield...I had the feeling the hangars were not quite right...But I do understand why you did not use something on the french side...for now. Time -and goodwill from several parties- will improve the situation soon, I hope :-). JV |
Wellington vid was alot better - this one felt kind of anti-climatic.
