B-17
FW190 (any variant do) Spitfire VIII  |
My three with reasons:
Cobra- Because it looks cool Lightning- Because it looks cool Seawind 300C- Because it looks cool |
Ju88A4 - a Bomber that flies like a heavy Fighter
Bf110 - it just looks great, and it is fast Bf109F4 - its a beauty, not a big brute like most other fighters i don´t like modern planes, they are not sexy... robtek |
TBF Avenger

A late Corsair: F4U-7 or F4U-5N
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...4U-Corsair.JPG http://mywebsite.register.com/db1/00...S11_05_525.jpg Something practical: Maule M-7-260C ( Although a Storch would be fine too) http://www.mauleairinc.com/cd/aircra...eoff_small.jpg Projected space plane from EADS Astrium, maybe it could be used as a kind of fast business jet: http://fo-astrium.net/foweb/foweb.1/...paceplane1.jpg |
hmmm, let's see....
1. Hawker Hurricane 2. McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom 3. Any Beechcraft type with floats - to land me at the nearest deserted tropical island for those vital getaway weekends. |
P-400
BF109-F4 Yak1b |
X, Y, Z my life "planes" 8)
|
Hurricane, Spitfire and an F.E.2 (or some other old pusher), in no particular order.
|
Lockheed Constellation
Martin Mars Kawasaki Type 3, Model 1, Ko (Ki-61-I-Ko) |
P-51D, F4UC, and Bearcat please.
|
|
PT-17 Stearman
F8f Bearcat F-14D Tomcat first one is the ultimate American Biplane (built to take a beating and last forever) second one could barrel roll around the Pony on takeoff and was made of Iron the last one because it is almost as sexy, smart and powerful as I am...and just a little more retired |
Lancaster - So I could get closer to understand my fathers experiences during the war. Also 1 Merlin good, 2 Merlin's better, 4 Merlins Heaven
Skyraider - Could carry all my stuff and still have room for more Catalina - For those days you feel like climbing, diving and cruising at the same speed |
Pe-2
Whichever Emil I could get my clammy hands on Yak-3 |
Bf-109G2 in RHAF (Hungarian) colors
T-6A Texan II F-14D |
Curtiss P36/Hawk75. A better flying aircraft than the P40.
http://www.airshows.org.uk/2005/airs...s/hawk75_1.jpg Grumman Goose. Just because it's cool... http://www.check-six.com/images/CG_A...an_JRF-2_2.jpg Grumman F3F http://www.richard-seaman.com/Aircra...F3f3oClock.jpg |
Easy!
The Mig-3, one of the most overlooked planes of the war. If only Russia used them as intended. Then again Germany didn't have high altitude bombers or fighters... http://www.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/mig3/kriucov2r.jpg Fw 190 family, but the Dora 13 is my favourite! The Ta-152 and 154 are also nice birds as well as the whole Bf 109C/D/E/F family, the G's are way over done today. http://www.warbirdphotos.net/aviapix...0/fw190d13.jpg And of the course, the Fokker D VIII. Way advanced for it's day. Too bad it had such a undeservedly bad reputation. http://air.sgrosso.net/fok8.jpg Other planes I can't get enough of: Yak-3 LaGG-3 La-7 P-39 Fokker D VII IL-10 Ho 229 F-86 P-80 Bf 110 Ju 87 |

Pby Catalina (my granddad flew them during ww2)
f4 Phantom (history, what else can I say) and finally, this one: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/..._kolkman05.jpg |
You might have to arm-wrestle Rick Hunter for that last one.
Only 3!?! How about: 1) F-16C Block 30 big-mouth, tail #87-324. Not that I'm picky. http://home.mindspring.com/~blottogg...shortfinal.jpg 2) Fw-190D-9 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...tside_USAF.jpg 3)Bell 609 tiltrotor... gotta have one to haul the wife and critters around in. http://avia.russian.ee/foto/bell_609_2.jpg |
|
Only 3!? :)
My immediate thoughts would be a P47N, 190D9 and a Sunderland. Or maybe a Seafury or maybe a P38 the again a Seahornet. |
These are mine favorites:
