A message from Spanish Sukoi pilots to Oleg.
Spanish simmers are awaiting patiently the 1 year late release of "Il-2 Sturmovik 1946" in Spain by Ubisoft.
We don't want to wait for "Storm of War: Battle of Britain", the next simulator of 1C:Maddox Games, so we made this message with the help of two top spanish aerobatics pilots: Cástor Fantoba and Juan Velarde, whose are very interested on the bonus Su-26 included in the sim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmdbHseyjIU Regards. nice video !
an excellent way to make your point :D |
:D
|
That's a brilliant video! Hope you can convince Ubi!
|
Great video. Really feel very dissapointed with release dates in Spain.
I hope we got SoB: Battle of Britain at the same time that Europe. It's going to be the sim of the decade!!! |
Two possible FM beta testers?

Anyway, hope you get it soon :D |
Great video...
If every whiner would present their complaint in a way like that, this would be the most creative forum in he internet. |
Yes, our whiners should organise into schools and produce videos extolling our viewpoints (was well as creating shrines)!
Ballenato, I assume you have Oleg's e-mail address? |
Great video!! A really nice and creative way to make a statement. Il-2 1946 should be released a long time ago, also in spain!!! I wish you all the luck 8)

Videogames are very famous in Spain, we are the sixth game consumer in the world and the 4th of Europe. I can hardly understand this situation.

Hi, I'm this video's author.
Thanks to Orka (Ballenato) who has posted this here before I got an account. Oleg, I want to tell you something: :) -First of all, thanks for passing the link to Ubi. Dunno what's happening here in Spain with this late sortie of 1946 and we are worried about BoB when it goes into the market. -I called today Cástor Fantoba, who is in touch with Juan Velarde, to tell them that you liked the video. :) -Cástor would help more, so he would let you, Ubi or both, his image for promotional purposes if it helps that BoB will arrive on time in Spain. I can put you in touch. -It had not been said, but Cástor got the 4th position on the last World Aerobatics Championship. -Of course Cástor and Juan are very interested on testing the BoB's Su-26; for not mention if any skin-maker paints their planes. Don't worry, there are some skin-makers yet interested on it in Spain :) -Other aerobatic pilots has tested 1946 but found that WWII planes does not exactly match nowadays aerobatic specs. The objective was to make a virtual aerobatic cup in parallel of real "Copa Triangular de Vuelo Acrobático". Well I finally go ahead with a La-7 to at least make a demonstrative video and the result was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3aEW6G09PY Hope you also enjoy, it has a lot of dialogue with aerobatic pilots behind and hours of training :) Apart of this, and to probe once more the interest in Il-2 and SOW series that there is in Spain, just some data to mention: -Virtual Squads using Il-2 in Spain: about 40 -Il-2 yet used in the biggest LAN meeting in Spain, the Campus Party in Valencia (8000 people). Another video to probe it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4Mw8GjPB5A -Il-2 used in Official competitions, like the Virtual Championship of Catalonia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLsQF79HSyE One of the most interesting things we could made is that the virtual flight is now being considered as a legal sport here. Sorry for the length of the post, I know you are a busy man. But without you, all this could not be possible. THANKS! :) |
This is real cool :) Now do this include France ?
|
~S~
Like I posted on YouTube those guys should be recuited for Beta testing on the SU26 at the very least. |
Impressive! S!
|
TUCKIE_JG52,
maybe Cástor and Juan could offer oleg to do some beta testing of the BoB's Su-26 flight model, and its aerobatic behaviour ? they would be perfect candidates for it. |
bump :P
|
I spoke again with Cástor today by phone.
He is interested in testing the BoB's Su-26, as he can judge if extreme maneuvers match reality. But he has no hardware to test it; I mean an updated Pc, controls, Track IR... :( So there's another suggestion from the spanish community; there's a massive simulation event in Madrid soon, so Castor and Juan are invited to go there (easy, they live in Madrid) and test BoB (if available then) in any updated Pc. 8) More than a beta-testing, it would be an intense day or weekend of focused testings... To get an idea of what Castor and Juan do when they fly aerobatics alone (not in formation), some short videos: -Cástor painting letters in the sky and extreme maneuvering in an airshow at Barcelona: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCBpDZ-9k1U -Juan making a torque roll vertical maneuver, hanging on the propeller: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eHV6qGQwBo -Cástor starting an awesome low pass with a rudder slide and finishing in a knife edge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASigU6omMlU -Juan making a perfect hammerhead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh7F01YAw-U But the most spectacular maneuver is the next one. Cástor used to make a maneuver that looks like the Su-27's "Pugachev Cobra"... but on takeoff!!! See the end of this video of him for that "Cástor's Cobra": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCX337uWenk Maybe other pilots also do it in aerobatic planes, but Castor is the only one I know that made this. :) So all this to say that aerobatic pilots are interested in BoB, like virtual pilots are interested on real aerobatics... Here is an open door to make things together :) |

That was incredible.

To paraphrase the famous sig: "That's the best thing I've seen all day. Granted I've just got up."
I haven't stopped chuckling to myself for five minutes! |

But nice try :D |
Foo'bar, I see, just read the post regarding BoB launch...
But you have to know that the Madrid's event was also moved to future, probably January 2008, but it is not sure by now. ;) |
Great vids! Hope you get to beta-test BOB and I hope you get '46 at some point!
But I bet there are also russian Su26 Pilots testing the flight model!? |
A good new:
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 was launched in spanish stores a couple of weeks ago. 11 months later that in the rest of countries, but at least launched :) Thanks whoever made this! :) Now spanish virtual pilots just want that, please, SOW:BOB wil be launched at the same time in spain (not earlier or later) than in other countries. Ah! About the video which started this thread, I made another version to thank "Culebra Patrol" (Cástor Fantoba and Juan Velarde) for their gift to Oleg. It's a similar video, but dedicated to them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjOUdusQDvQ Thanks all for your interest in this thread! :) |
After seeing that cobra video I can tell that there are going to be a lot of complaints about flawed physics when Bob is released...
