High End AMD 6XXX cards having troubles?
I have a 6970 and the game runs great for me..patch made a big difference over cities, and over terrain.. not so much diff over water but my fps was already 60+
What exactly are people having issues with? What are your CCC settings? I Have mine at all default for now to test things and the game runs great although I do see the wireframe "boxes" of the terrain tiles Communicating with people on the various forums its AMAZING how many people have made pretty extreme "custom" settings in the conf.ini file and in their CCC If you are running good, post your CCC settings, if you are running badly..post your CCC settings and maybe we can see some trends... |
S!
Got pretty decent performance except the stuttering before tectures load fully. Posting my CCC settings below. Would be good to compare and see which ones are "best" for CoD. FSAA: Application controlled AF: Application controlled Tessellation: AMD Optimized Catalyst AI: High Quality Surface Optimization: Off VSync: Quality (Always on) Antialiasing mode: Adaptive MSAA Triple Buffer: Off AMD OverDrive enabled: 900/1400MHz, +15% power In game I use.. Resolution: 1920x1200 60Hz Fullscreen: On Epilepsy filter: Off FSAA: Off Other settings: High/max |
click for screen
we have the same card you and I, I was wondering if you had those three blue lines on the horizon as seen in this screenshot i took, they werent present on my previous card |
Radeon HD 6970 and yes, I get the three blue lines on the horizon..Rest seems to run smooth enough for me but those lines are an immersion killer.
They seem to be Radeon specific. |
S!
Yes, they disappear when getting altitude. |
i look forward to the day i never see them :)

I've also got an HD6970.
Latest patch has not made a big impression on me, although I must confess I didn't do any FPS measurements. When flying at higher altitute, or over sea the performance seems pretty good. Low-level flight over land still creates annoying stuttering. My in-game graphics settings are currently all at "medium". Low-level flight also shows these three blue bands. I got rid of the square black box thingy by setting the graphics card's AF (using Catalyst Control Center) to at least 8. Below 8 the box still shows. Personally I found that square black box was much more annoying than the blue lines. I can live with those. Only two things remain. 1) Reduce the game's stuttering at low level. 2) Relearn to fly: it's a wholly different experience from IL-2! |
so af 8 or greater removes the lines on the ocean ?
|
I'm also getting the 3 line horizon and the wire frame "boxes".
I made a post here about it: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...t=20947&page=9 All CCC settings are on Use application settings. I also tried 11.2 vs 11.3 and nothing changed. |
i have an hd 6950 2gb and iam having a blast
yes we need lots more improvements but i just flew over the chanel with 6 other spits chassing 9 bombers ( got one:-] ) widescreen 1920x1080 60hz all hight setings no anti epy... 4gb memory intel quad 9450 2.66 hz it flew great and felt great collieded with a bomber and splached oh well will try harder next time... |

I see the wired boxed issue and the 3 lines There's a test i did on the new patch |
After Fridays patch the stuttering became unbearable. Before that I was playing happily, just avoiding built up areas. I have the three blue lines, but the wireframe / box I got rid of by setting AF to 8x. My CCC settings are default otherwise.
It doesn't seem to matter how low or high the in game settings are, FPS is good all round. I play at 1680 x 1050, everything on and high except buildings, buildings amount and forest on medium. Luckily I had the original steam version in my recycle bin from moving the game folder to my SSD, so I'm playing the beta patch version now! :D |
8x AF in catalyst control fixed those annoying black lines on the ocean for me, thanks for the tip

Catalyst AI: High Quality <------ Have you tried setting it to performance? Just suggesting, I don't have the game installed now, gotta fix up my G940 throttle first. :) |

+1 |
Sorry, i cannot play the game with my rig in medium details!
All of them except that countless bugs and graphical errors are included. |

I'll help you fix yours if you provide the information. First thing I'd do is lower your overclock to more reasonable levels for now. Artifacts can be heat related so controlling that option would make it easier to debug |

i list the settings tomorrow. Thanks |
running a 6870 maxed out over London (except buildings not on unlimited, I'm not suicidal!) and I get small amounts of stutter and avg 35fps. That's pretty darn good for what I get to see.

The beta patch was a marked improvement, but the patch that actually went live has made the game utterly unplayable - far worse than the original release version ever was. FYI I'm running a pair of 2GB 6950's. |

As posted before, those are screens with maximum video settings, unlimited trees etc.
Resolution: 1920x1080 The game still stutters and lags like hell! But the framerate seems to be OK, but it is unplayable  It doesn't matter, if I set all the video settings to "medium". The fps and stuttering is still the same! http://www.abload.de/thumb/il2coddku6.jpg http://www.abload.de/thumb/il2cod2vu04.jpg [BOB] EpilepsyFilter=0 [window] DepthBits =24 StencilBits=8 DrawIfNotFocused=0 SaveAspect=0 Render=D3D10_0 width=1920 height=1080 ColourBits=32 FullScreen=1 ChangeScreenRes=1 Frequency=60 posLeft=0 posTop=0 [NET] speed=100000 localPort=27015 serverName=My Server serverDescription=IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover serverInfo1= serverInfo2= serverInfo3= serverInfo4= VAC=1 maxPlayers=16 socksEnable=0 socksHost= socksPort=1080 socksUser= socksPwd= [Console] IP=20001 UseStartLog=1 WRAP=1 PAUSE=1 HISTORY=1024 HISTORYCMD=1024 PAGE=20 LOG=0 LOGTIME=0 LOAD=console.cmd SAVE=console.cmd LOGFILE=log.txt LOGKEEP=0 [rts] tickLen=30 ProcessAffinityMask=14 maxTimerTicksInRealTick=20 ; 0 - not use, 1 - show cursor and not capture, 2 - not show cursor, and capture mouseUse=2 ; 0 - not use, 1 - use if hardware exist joyUse=1 ; 0 - not use, 1 - use if hardware exist trackIRUse=1 DisableIME=0 culture=en-GB [rts_mouse] SensitivityX=1.0 SensitivityY=1.0 SensitivityZ=1.0 Invert=0 SwapButtons = 0 [rts_joystick] FF=1 [core] RandSeed = 0 TexQual=3 TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0 Shadows=1 SpecularLight=2 DiffuseLight=2 DynamicalLights=1 MeshDetail=2 LandShading=2 LandDetails=2 Sky=3 Forest=4 VisibilityDistance=4 LandGeom=2 DrawCollisions=1 Water=-1 Effects=2 EffFlags.Light=1 EffFlags.SpriteRender=0 Grass=3 CordEffect=1 UseFog=0 UseLandCube=1 UseLandConnectedObject=1 LinearObjectManager=1 Roads=1 Sun=1 Clouds=1 EffFlags.LightSpritesProj=1 ShadowMapSize=5 TexFlags.AsyncLoad=1 TexFlags.ShowTexture=0 SimpleMesh.SWTransform=0 SimpleMesh.QuadTreeClip=1 SimpleMesh.InstancingHW=1 EffFlags.LightContextSprites=1 CloudsFlags.Detailed=1 TexFlags.CreateHDR=1 Decals=2 EffFlags.SWLight=0 TexFlags.CockpitOnePass=0 MegaTexture=0 TexFlags.Reflection=0 RenderTargetQual=3 MSAA=2 MeshStatics=3 MeshStaticsDetail=4 SimpleMesh.QTNoCompose=0 MeshFirstLod=0 MeshShowLod=0 SpawnHumans=0 TexFlags.FastTransparency=1 [sound] SoundUse=1 DebugSound=0 SoundEngine=1 Speakers=1 Placement=0 SoundFlags.reversestereo=0 RadioFlags.Enabled=1 RadioEngine=2 MusicVolume=14 ObjectVolume=7 MusState.takeoff=1 MusState.inflight=1 MusState.crash=1 MusFlags.play=1 MasterVolume=14 Attenuation=7 SoundMode=0 SamplingRate=0 NumChannels=2 SoundExt.occlusions=1 SoundFlags.hardware=1 SoundFlags.streams=1 SoundFlags.duplex=1 SoundExt.acoustics=1 SoundExt.volumefx=1 SoundFlags.voicemgr=1 SoundFlags.static=1 VoiceVolume=8 Channels=1 SoundFlags.bugscorrect=0 SoundExt.extrender=0 SoundSetupId=8 ActivationLevel=0.02 Preemphasis=0.8 RadioLatency=0.5 AGC=1 PTTMode=1 RadioFlags.PTTMode=0 RadioFlags.PlayClicks=1 ActLevel=9 MicLevel=10 SoundFlags.UseRadioChatter=0 SoundFlags.AutoActivation=0 SoundFlags.forceEAX1=0 speakers=1 |
