Very Nice Plane!)

btw... on the SAS made two French fighter D 520 and Arsenal
I know that the authors of D 520 were associated with DT ... wondering whether there is a chance that there will game French fighters...

mkubani 04-08-2011 12:54 PM

Hello Zimbower, thanks for the animation video. Just let you know that we have noticed it. We will do our best.

@Sita: We have been in contact with two modellers of French planes. One for D.520 and one for Potez 633. D.520 was the author's first time model and we suggested to the modeller honestly (after reviewing the WIP model) that it would be less time consuming for him to start the model again from scratch than trying to fix/improve the first one. I have offered him that DT could try to guide him step by step in the modelling if he shows us his weekly WIP status in order to catch and point out possible modelling issues early in the process. He did not choose to go this way and we lost contact with him. For Potez, we have been in touch with the modeller since Jan 2010 until end of 2010. Since then no progress, no feedback from him.

As for Arsenal, we don't have any info on this. If the modeller is interested, the DT email is known. If the model is well made with all LODs, proper textures, structures, internals, etc. DT would have no problem including it in the patch.

By the look of it, it's something French, right? But what is it exactly? :)

BTW, a bit overdetailed from IL-2 point of view.

Sita 04-09-2011 06:48 AM

it's Potez63

TinyTim 04-10-2011 09:05 PM

It's a Potez 63.11 to be precise. The basic Potez 63 looked pretty differently, it somewhat resembled a Bf 110. The .11 subversion was a recconaisance adaptation and also the most numerous one. Nose and cockpit were reshaped substantionally.

my mistake...

Saint-Exupery in the story "Military Pilot" ... not on this plane is produced intelligence?

Romanator21 04-11-2011 01:25 AM

Maybe, but Saint-Ex certainly flew reconnaissance missions in the Bloch MB.174 in the II/33 squadron (which he wrote about in "Flight to Arras").

But any French plane is welcome for Il-2 :)

LOL, this thread is much like visiting the Royal ball naming yourself Jack Sparrow

EAF331 Starfire 04-28-2011 08:41 AM

I was wondering if you would mind to affect the Ki84b and c with random bugs. My idear was spawned by the way we get the random gunsight you will get in one of the old Russian aircrafts and my love for this aircraft.
I stopped flying the Ki84 because of the lack of historical modelling.
According to a statistic book I got (Brute Force - John Ellies) the quality of those late war Ki's where pretty bad. It have also been speculated that the version they handed over to the US after the war was in prestine condition.

In Brute Force it is describe with a lot of fault due to lack of strategic materials (from Japanese reports) and lack of quality control. So it was not uncommon that the armorplateing behind the pilot was lacking. That engines would size (due to lack of crome) in flight.

A Quote of a quote from the book:
Quote:

'An outstanding case of faulty material and poor manitenance was shown in a Japanese diary covering the delivery of 80 Ki-84 (Franks) from Japan to Lingayen Bay, 4 November 1944, where only 14 planes reached their destination. Trouble with engines, fuel systems, hydralics and failure of landing gears were the orincipal causes of trouble'.

I will gladly send you photocopies of the book if I have spawned an interest.

Thanks for all the work you have done so far :!:
