Tracer Rounds
Is there any way to modify the spacing of your tracers? Or add tracers to the planes that only seem to use them when ammo's running low?
EDIT: Also I was wondering if there was a way to change the colour of your gunsight? |

If you open the mission in the Full mission builder, select your aircraft, you can modify your loadout, the type, amount and colour of your tracer rounds specifically for .303 per gun if flying Spitties. Also options are there for Armour piercing and incendiary rounds....haven't looked at loadouts for the other airplanes yet. Dont forget to save the mission when you have finished. Haven't changed it yet myself but the option is there if you want to give it a go.

You can create a profile in Full mission builder and also in the options/plane area, if you click on loadout.
There you can setup the ammo on the belts, on each individual gun, however you want. You do this by moving the type of ammo you want in the belt, in the left window. Let's say, in hurricane you have five rounds in the left window, out of wich one is tracer (white). What ever the sequence is loaded in the left window, that sequence is going to repeat in the entire belt. You want more tracers, just drop one more tracer from the right window into your belt (left window). You want only tracers, you remove everything except the tracer. You can do that for every gun, and you don't have to load all guns the same. When you are done, make sure you save the loadout with "save as", and give it a name. That name will show up in your missions screen, in the drop down menu, just under the image of the plane you selected.. Here's one example i did just for fun, to look good on screenshots.:-P Simply i loaded in four guns just one "Navy tracer" (because is red):), one AP and one Incendiary. In the other four guns i loaded only AP and incendiary. Here's the result: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...404_151804.jpg |
I have tried doing as has been said here, just in the plane loadouts screen, and i cant seem to get it to save...whenever i go to select my loadout the only option it gives me is 'custom' which is exactly the same as default...am i doing it wrong?

I only manage to get custom ammo load-outs to stick in the single missions (but not the quick missions) BobTuck. |

Nice!
But, what is a observer ammunition??? |
Its a round that flashes on impact but causes little damage, a sort of ranging round. ;)

Thanks!! and what are the best or their different uses?

In the PLANE section of the options think of it like a menu tree,
on the first screen is where you save the complete package of your plane, skin, weapon load, belt load out. so you go in set your skin on the plane go into loadout and set up your belt preference or load a belt you have saved previously then go back to the plane screen where you change the skin and so on and save there, then when you go into a quick mission and underneath the plane you have chosen where it says "default stock" change to the save you made on the plane screen and this will apply your skin, gun set up, and belts to your plane for that mission hope that explains it if you save in the belt screen you have only saved a belt arrangement not the full plane setup required for use in quick missions |
Then there is arrangment for the "Main belt" and "Residual Belt". Is residual the end of the ammo belt?

Btw, thanks for the explanation OxygenThief - I get it now. BobTuck. |
It works nicely. Still the saving is a pain but doing right on the .mis file is better for the moment. I still cannot eliminate alltracers for Bf109E3 cannon shells. Only a belt with armor piercing can be without tracers. Is this how it was or is it a temporary fluke.
