South Coast Train of Death!

This has to be the worst laid train track in history. :)

Avionsdeguerre 04-03-2011 03:23 PM

Disneyland or "Doverland"

Hunden 04-03-2011 03:25 PM

Yikes!! I'd like to see a train go off now.

Space Communist 04-03-2011 03:28 PM

Oh you guys have never heard of that line? "The Daredevil Express" they called it. :p

bongodriver 04-03-2011 03:44 PM

I can assure you the real train track isn't that scary, but it does follow that route, yes Dover is my home town.

Koyan 04-03-2011 03:45 PM

Is the slope pointed towards Germany? I think it was the V-counterattack express.

csThor 04-03-2011 03:49 PM

Well ... I guess this explains why the bloody trains are so damned late there.

JG52Uther 04-03-2011 03:53 PM

You lot never heard of coastal erosion? ;)

kimosabi 04-03-2011 04:04 PM

Have you never watched "Harry Potter"? ;D

born2thrill 04-03-2011 05:01 PM

hehe start of the channel tunnel, set up a train in fmb see if it goes off lol

Wutz 04-03-2011 05:37 PM

Tommy544 04-03-2011 06:31 PM

Ladies and gentlemen fasten your seat belts please, we're going downhill. :D

fruitbat 04-03-2011 07:26 PM

it called Shakespeare's cliff, and the railway does go through it in real life.

Triggaaar 04-03-2011 07:28 PM

Good spot. That is a strange one.

Zappatime 04-03-2011 07:28 PM

....with all those trees its probably a branch line

bongodriver 04-03-2011 07:32 PM

I'd take my chances on the train, Dover is a bit of a sh*thole to live in

fruitbat 04-03-2011 07:39 PM

hi mate, just up to coast, near manston.

bongodriver 04-03-2011 07:42 PM

Hi fruitbat,

yep Dover here but Manston is almost a second home, I used to be the pilot of the Coastguard Islander based there and I am still an instructor at TG aviation, I fly the Stearman for them during the warmer months.

Meusli 04-03-2011 08:37 PM

Does it go through a tunnel in the cliff? I think I remember Oleg talking about tunnels once, can't remember if he said the won't do them or will at a later date.

bongodriver 04-03-2011 08:47 PM

Yes it does, it goes through 2 tunnels then it runs along the seafront to Folkestone.

Oleg said they won't be available at the moment.

One thought I've had is that they might be problematic if you were able ride on or drive the vehicles and trains. The darkness of the tunnel might be difficult to do.

Of course riding/driving 'under ground' might be problematic too.
