I went to Krk last summer, and we went on a boat trip round the islands. On that trip we stopped at a Fjord where the wreckage of a german ferry was still visible. The guide said that the RAF sunk it and one of the planes, hit the hillside and the pilot was killed. But Kroatian Partisans recoverd the body and he now rests in a nearby village. You can find bit's of information on the net but no report that realy hangs togethere. I found out that it probably was a Hurricane that crashed. Do you know something about it?

Well I guess I'll post a shot of my personal mount.
Here I am returning from a air raid on our home base in the early morning. I just sent my wingman home before he runs out of gas and this shot shows me preparing to make the first turn into the landing pattern. Haven't posted anything for a few days, as I've exceeded my monthly broadband quota - yes, believe it or not, most of us regular folk in SA have to accept a 'capped' monthly limit, or pay exorbitant prices for unlimited. Not an ideal situation, but I'll be posting more from the beginning of November again. With regards to the 'in-game' or 'not in-game' backgrounds for shots, let's think about it quickly... This thread is called 'IL-2 Art', so I think almost anything IL-2 related is acceptable... 8) There is another thread for IL-2 screenshots, so maybe that should be where the 'in-game' shots are posted? Or, will that just complicate matters too much? All of my screenies are 'in-game', with minor or no editing done in Photoshop. So, lets try to get some idea of who wants what - screenies in the screenie thread, 'art' in the art thread, or all mixed-up? I get a bit confused myself, sometimes, and have posted my screenies in this thread and the screenshot thread. Does it really matter? PS: Welcome stalkervision - cool shots, although some might be a bit dark, if I had to be critical - although those will certainly look good at night. Good stuff coming from all, keep it up, guys! :lol: |

Well, I have to both agree and disagree with GOZR.
It's always nice to see great shots that doesnt need editing, BUT games are all about immersion for me and the graphics we see in IL2 just doesnt seem nowhere near real. So, if something cool happens on my sortie, I usually remake the scene using real photos and by blending the IL2 planes in it. That's just my way to tell the story. Besides, the title says "IL2 art", well doing composites is art and might I say, quite hard to do. That is of course, if you really want it to look real. Oh and I love to make these composites, so... But yeh, I can stop posting them if it bothers someone. :wink: |
I agree with Dowly, but, I dont make mine to replicate events I've had ingame, I do it to try and see what the Battle of Britain would have been like, while taking artistic license.

I like both in game and out of game but please make me aware of which it is before you post ...(IG) or (OG) because I get mighty jealous of (og's) that look like my (igs) only a whole lot better! :)

I love that shot! Especially the Hurricane! Great angle! @Stalker A pilot once said (dont remember if it was a WWI or WWII pilot) "Every pilot is a friend, no matter the nationaly or the side they are on" That's the rule I use both in online games and in the forums. The ones that can do good looking 'art' out of IL2, just have too much time on their hands. :wink: |

"Left behind" by Dowry is my fav. of his batch :) Rigamortiz, I'll comment on yours at screenshotprints.com as tonight! I find the discussion about "only unedited shots" slightly odd. It's obvious which ones are edited and which ones aren't plus people say that too. In that way no one will be fooled and as being said, a room called "art" doesn'T seem to put any borders regarding the expected results. Please keep them coming, I like to look at both :) |

dunno if stretching them would look too good anyways. That would be a dramatically horizontal aspect ratio. At work Im having each display showing the same artwork but therefore unstretched.
