Gun Tracers

why do the gun tracers looks like something from buck rogers, they really make the game look poor, where is the smoke trails etc?

T}{OR 04-01-2011 03:56 PM

If anything, they look "too thick". Other than that, pretty much real i.e. not Hollywood like. ;)

For tracer smoke - fly a 109 or 110.

CheesySteve 04-01-2011 03:56 PM

That is more or less what tracers look like.

A lot of laser effects in movies and such are based on what tracers look like.

BigPickle 04-01-2011 04:15 PM

Actually tracers look nothing like it. These are way too thick, way too quick, and too smoke less on RAF aircraft.

Seems
they forgot to add lots of stuff in, not just giving all aircraft tracers but actually finishing the tracer effects.

Capturing tracers on camera intensifies their effect, particularly in low light conditions where the camera exposure is set for the lower ambient lighting conditions. Seen with the naked eye they are considerably less pronounced. Having served with the military for 9 years I can assure you they are grossly overdone on COD, so guess who was PWND and needs to be quiet .

tracers are different ln COD.. .you can choose your composition of munition... there are a lot of munition defferent... lot of tracers different too.... what you see in game depend of your config of munition...

and kind of munition...

and for tracers on video r else... video are not the same as reality.

for me tracers are really good on COD. it is realistic and not hollywood like in Wings of prey by exemple.

did you fire with a hurri or a spit? with the same ammo and gun? if yes ok..if no you can't say if it is different or no...

and like a said...there are different tracers ammo who look each different in COD.

lol.

This again..

The visible tracer rounds used by RAF in BoB were smokless.

If you want smoke tracer then load out with the buckingham incendiaries, these leave the distinctive spiral smoke trails.

In this (badly edited by me) BoB video you can see both types being used.

EDIT: I seem to remember Oleg saying they had to compromise with the light tracers because of the way they move.
